The Politics of P. Diddy

1015pdiddy.jpg

Hip hop icon P. Diddy raps with "Extra" about his controversial YouTube rants -- and why he took to the web to stump for Barack Obama.

"I get to be a hip hop Bill O'Reilly," Diddy dishes to "Extra." The rapper declared, "This was a time when I really wanted to use my power to help Obama get elected."

Diddy isn't the only superstar that has taken to the web to showcase their politics. Paris Hilton, Jessica Biel and Justin Timberlake have reached large audiences with their online political videos.

YouTube's Steve Grove tells "Extra" that the power of the web is changing the face of politics in America. "It's no longer just a few members of the media elite who define the character and tone of a campaign trail -- it's everyone."

Diddy also dished to "Extra" about why he's sporting a sling. Click here to find out the answer!

Power, hahahahahaha. This is the problem with these losers. They think because they are somewhat famous, they have power. What a joke.

Hollywood is full of liberals. They do not know anything about the real world, or politics. P. Diddy is an idiot, just like the majoirity of them. The only reason people are voting for him because he is black, or because he is the most liberal canidate in history. People have no morals these days, they just want to do whatever they want to, and want to be able to get handouts from the government. No one wants to be responsible for themselves, everything is the governments fault. Thats the mentality people have. Now that is whats scary! Obama is going to raise taxes on everyone that makes above $30,000 a year, but he doesnt run that in his ads, or in the media! The media has a political agenda, so they never show the bad things about Obama. He runs dirty ads too, but you never hear about that in the news either. McCain is a great pick why? Because he isnt fraudulant, he has served his country, he has much more experience then Obama, not to mention Palin does to. Obama is a first term Senator, who lost his congressmen bid a few years prior to running for Obama. He is a professional Liar.. hint a defense attorney. He lies so smoothly, and dances around real issues; and people are dumb enough to buy into it. He went to a racist and anti-government church for 20 years? McCain is going to put more money into things we really need, like dependency from middle eastern oil! By buying all of this oil, we fund terrorism and corruption, from people who dont even like us. Thats a true issue. People are so into.. what can the government do for me, not what can i do for my country! Its a shame. you people should all move to Iraq for a day, and see how easy the Americans really have it. And just how bad things could be. Obama also lived with his rich white grandparents most of his life. He didnt have the same struggles as the average joe. Hes a millionaire, and he never defines middle class. His middle class is really the lower class citizens. He wants to take money from the military, and from hard working Americans, and provide money to people like ACORN, and other social programs. Its phenominal that he is still able to run for president after all the lies and corruption that the media doesnt show. Its said that ACORN helped him get his Senator position. Which I dont doubt. Obama is going to ruin the US. We will be turning to socialism, and no one truly understands how dangerous that is going to be for us. Enjoy your safety and freedoms while you can! And McCain not voting for a holiday for martin Luther king is not racist. Its smart. Why spend government money funding something like that, when we have more important issues, IE Housing crisis, and the job crisis, and everything else. Would it be nice.. yes.. but not now! Truly it is people living out of their means, and the democrats who dominate congress that brough us to this mess. Educate yourselves before you vote please!

I’ve watched Extra for years and enjoyed the celebrity aspect of your show. However, since the election time has drawn near, Extra has disappointed me on almost a nightly basis. Last night (10/15/08) there were three segments clearly promoting Barack Obama (i.e. Justin Timberlake piece, Sean P. Diddy Combs (or whatever his name is) segment, Madonna’s rant about Sarah Palin ( for the 2nd night in a row). And yet there was not a single segment promoting or even covering John McCain in any way.

It doesn’t really matter which candidate your producers are voting for, but as a news magazine, I would think they would have the journalistic credibility and balance to at least play fairly. The Barack Obama slant of your show is SO EVIDENT IT’S SICKENING!!

I don’t like having politics crammed down my throat night after night. Sound bytes by liberal minded celebrities is not going to sway my vote in any way…but your show should at least play fairly. It makes you guys look really bad to the conservatives who tune in…or at least used to tune in.

Diddy has always encourged every one to vote being a resident of AZ who has voted since I was 18 ( Im now 28)I would never vote for McCain & it’s not a race issue, I vote for the lesser of the 2 evils… if you want to speak about scandal HELLOOOO Palin is full of scandals…. McCain did not even want MLK to be a holidy AZ was the last state to accept it and he voted no. I have always believed he is racist. So to all the people who claim Diddy is voting by race, it seems to me that you are doing the same… Obama is a lawyer, and has 2 books on the best selling list (Ann) to me you sound like a person who would still like jim crow laws to exsist…. Everyone is entitled to vote for whom ever for what ever the reason may be and its shouldnt come down to race, but the facts even if Hilary had won i still would not vote for McCain/ Palin…with his health issues his days are numbered & I wouldn’t want Palin left in charge of anything.

Ignorant statements like yours, Ms. Ann, are all the more reason for me to vote for Mr. Barack Obama. Whether P. Diddy supports him or not does not change my vote. We as Americans need to evaluate both nominees and decide for ourselves who we will vote for. It is interesting to see what celebrities are supporting who, just out of curiosity, but it does not influence my vote in any way. P. Diddy’s videos are funny and entertaining and maybe get others who would normally not vote interested in voting. That is one of the great things about celebrity, you have the ability to make others think about issues you are interested in on a much larger scale than we can from our homes.

Being a Southern middle class, normal WORKING American, I have always thought California and New York was full of self-absorbed, spoiled, overpaid nuts and fruits. This guy doesn’t even know his own name and he is trying to tell ME how to vote!?! I’ve voted in every election since I turned 18 - how about you, Diddy? John and Joe Public are RIGHT ON TARGET!

You so big on helping Obama, I hope you can help me to get a proof of his citizenship. He is as fonny as they come, and he can not hide it. He also is terrible for USA,
Please explain his wife comment: “we will change democracy”. What does she want to bring americans? Communism
or islamic fascism? What is her preference? Do you have a reason to help Obama other than color of his skin? He did not do as much as even you to make money, he did not work for it? how could he afford his Home and life style? Do you Know? I am 63 and I am terrified for America and Americans who are fulled by Hussein Obama emty speaches. I hope you will look closer to Obama’s tru charachter that you wish to elect in the highest office of the world? I trust you will think about what I wrote.Regards.
You are smart.

In many instances, the only time I ever see Diddy on tv is to raise issues of controversy by the constant “race card”? Last time I saw him he was complaining there were not enough “black models” on the cat walks? Am I surprised he is pushing for Obama, no. Am I influenced by his opinion definately not. As a matter of fact, he only sends me the opposite direction, and quickly. Obama is a fad with no substance, much like the celebrities that feel the need to promote him every chance they get.

I curious as to whether P Diddy has ever voted prior to this election. Would he have the same feelings if the Democratic front runner was a woman or white. And, is Justin Timberlake just going with the flow as other Hollywood celebrities are.
