Palin and McCain: $150K Makeovers!

1022palin.jpg

From lipstick on a pitbull -- to designer duds on a hockey mom! The GOP has spent $150 grand on "campaign accessories" -- including clothing, hair and makeup -- since Sarah Palin joined the Republican ticket as the VP candidate!

Palin has been gussied up by her party with $4,700 worth of hairdos and makeup in the past month alone! The expensive makeovers triggered a heated discussion on "The View" today, where Joy Behar blasted the GOP spending, saying, "I don't think Joe the Plumber wears Manolo Blahniks!" Conservative hostess Elisabeth Hasselbeck slammed back, "Are you looking into how much Joe Biden's Botox costs?"

Right-wing radio host Bill O'Reilly echoed Elisabeth's defense, blasting Joy Behar. "Your name is Joy! You should be joyful!" Bill then went on the offense against Senator Obama, saying, "He's a communist. Did I offend you? Okay, he's a socialist."

McCain spokeswoman Tracey Schmitt defended the shopping sprees today. "With all of the important issues facing the country right now, it's remarkable that we're spending time talking about pantsuits and blouses. It was always the intent that the clothing go to a charitable purpose after the campaign."

Sarah wasn't the only one getting pampered by the Republican Party -- Arizona Senator John McCain reportedly spent a whopping $8,600 on a professional makeup artist during September.

We finally get an opportunity to vote for a candidate with real morals. I guess that’s what must be so frightening to all the Democrats. Our economy is in the state it’s in thanks to the likes of Senator Dodd with his sweetheart deal with Countrywide Mortgage and Barney Franks. God help this country if Obama wins!

What’s really obscene is that Obama has already spent more then a half a billion dollars to buy a job and may end up paying 3/4 of a billion to become President. If the GOP hadn’t paid for her new clothes and make-up, the press would have had even more to criticize her about and you all would have another reason for another negative feature about McCain/Palin.

Big deal. $150G? Of PRIVATE money? Doesn’t seem like a lot, unless you’re Jimmy Carter and buy your shirts from Sears.

And how much have Mr. & Mrs. BO spent on THEIR wardrobes and respective make-up? (Just to take a stab at fair reporting).

While we’re at it, am I off here, or does it look like BO has dyed his hair?

Hail Hail Barack Obama the CELEBRITIES President. When Barrack said “spread the wealth”, that was code to his celebrity friends for keep the wealthy rich! It’s no wonder so many celebrities support him, what the heck do these celebrities know about the economy, or any other issue most americans face? You can choose the popular candidate, or the right candidate.

…and she looks stunning!!! Too bad it always comes down to how a woman looks rather than how bright she is — unfortunately for females, it seems that middle school never really ends. Go Sarah!! You look great (and I don’t mind at all that my donation to the RNC paid for your make-over — it’s better than negative advertisements!)

I really don’t think the media needs to worry about what Sarah Palin is wearing with all the other major stories they could be reporting that are actually news worthy. I don’t think I have seen Extra report where Obama’s dirty campaign funds are coming from.Does Extra think all their viewers are Democrats? It is time the media realizes there are 2 colors, red and blue.

Although I think this is not really essential, I think it is a ridiculous issue. How about talking about the millions of dollars spent on commercials that show up every 5 minutes when we have these issues with the economy? How about jumping on that issue instead of $150K which pales in comparison? How could all that money make a difference in our lives? That is what people should be talking about.

Considering the fact that Obama has raised and will spend 150 MILLION between now and election day, this is a drop in the bucket for the McCain/Palin team. Obama’s spending should scare the hell out of the taxPAYERS who will be providing the money he spends, as he “redistributes” the wealth. Sorry, but I prefer working to support myself, not the people who live off us citizens who pay taxes. Personally, my husband and I pay over $3000 per MONTH in taxes because we’re self employed

The Republican Party paid for Palin’s new clothes. The other candidates paid for their own clothes, that is why the other candidate’s clothing expenses hasn’t been covered on EXTRA.

Isn’t there any real news out there today? You keep focusing on things that are insignificant. How about reporting on what might happen to this country if Obama becomes President and he has to make a decision in his first six months when we have the “guaranteed” crisis Joe Biden says we’ll have. He hasn’t made one decision on anything significant yet and God help us all if he is the President!

Why don’t you find a real issue to report, like the millions Obama is spending on his ads. If he wants to share the wealth, why not share some of those funds - literally buying an election …. it’s disgusting and most definitely history-making, don’t find that newsworthy?

As you see McCain and Palin are clearly not worried about the rest of the world with this economy we are. You have that kind of “TAX PAYERS” money to spend on clothes and hair styles. Which still look horrible. Do they know what most Americans can do with $75,000???

Extra stay focused. Stay BIASED, and STAY SLANTED! Heaven forbid you report a single negative thing about the Obama campaign! And when Obama said he can dance better than McCain! That is at least ONE truth.. Just ask Barack Huesein Obama about his terrorist friends, his own campaign funds and where they come from, his own spending habits… His ties to anti-white, anti-america reverends.. YOU’LL BE SURE TO SEE HIM DANCE THEN! Still it’s funny to me how the media actually truly beleives that THEY are gonna choose the next President!? I’m gonna try and keep at least some faith in my fellow americans in that they can see though all this media hype, and actually get someone suited for the job of Presidency! Still trying to find a LIST, (any list will do) of the accomplishments of a 3 year senator named Barack Huessein Obama!!!

I think it is disgraceful that they spent that kind of money on clothes and make-up when people in our country are struggling to make ends meet. With all that prepping, they don’t look any better!

If the Republican party spend 150K on Sarah Palin’s wardrode, then they deserve to lose. There are people losing their job who ONLY make 65K per year and they’re out spending 150K on clothes. This is crazy! And if McCain spend thousands on makeup. I’m totally speechless.

SHAME ON YOU EXTRA! So blatantly taking sides. Why didn’t you say anything negative about Obama/Biden? Why didn’t you look into Michele Obama’s makeover? Why nothing about Biden’s OBVIOUS plastic surgery? Have you seen his eyes? From now on I will stick with Mary Hart.

Who cares how much sarah paid for clothes? How much is Michelle Obama spending? She isn’t buying her clothes at good will. Stop picking on her. People are just jelous because she is a smart beatiful woman who has it going on.

I have always been a viewer of extra until tonight. Terrible that the show did not report how much all candidates are spending on their clothes, hair, make-up, etc. To show Palin’s expenses and then show BO laughing it up on Ellen. Definitely shows the extra crew is very, very liberal and doesn’t want to give all of the facts.
