Palin and McCain: $150K Makeovers!

1022palin.jpg

From lipstick on a pitbull -- to designer duds on a hockey mom! The GOP has spent $150 grand on "campaign accessories" -- including clothing, hair and makeup -- since Sarah Palin joined the Republican ticket as the VP candidate!

Palin has been gussied up by her party with $4,700 worth of hairdos and makeup in the past month alone! The expensive makeovers triggered a heated discussion on "The View" today, where Joy Behar blasted the GOP spending, saying, "I don't think Joe the Plumber wears Manolo Blahniks!" Conservative hostess Elisabeth Hasselbeck slammed back, "Are you looking into how much Joe Biden's Botox costs?"

Right-wing radio host Bill O'Reilly echoed Elisabeth's defense, blasting Joy Behar. "Your name is Joy! You should be joyful!" Bill then went on the offense against Senator Obama, saying, "He's a communist. Did I offend you? Okay, he's a socialist."

McCain spokeswoman Tracey Schmitt defended the shopping sprees today. "With all of the important issues facing the country right now, it's remarkable that we're spending time talking about pantsuits and blouses. It was always the intent that the clothing go to a charitable purpose after the campaign."

Sarah wasn't the only one getting pampered by the Republican Party -- Arizona Senator John McCain reportedly spent a whopping $8,600 on a professional makeup artist during September.

Consider these clothes an investment. Did you know that she’s planning on auctioning them off and giving the proceeds to charity? She’ll double that money easily and give it all away! People will pay big bucks for those clothes! Compare that to Obama’s campaign donations to charity ($27,000). Nice!

SEAN LOPEZ: You are so right. I just wish everyone could really see what’s going on w/ this guy. His LATEST fiasco about ‘sharing the wealth’(please!)made my stomach actually turn. Anyone who makes more than $42,000 per yr, I believe, are the ones whose taxes are being raised. I guess that’s because we’re rich. Yeah, b.o., keep going to Europe, and then come back here trying to turn us into some sort of quasi-socialistic hand-out trashbin. People who don’t work in this country already get enough. You tube ‘obama october surprise’ for another stomach-turning facet of this person. It’s hard for me to believe that nothing this guy does scares anyone, but any insignifant, blown out of proportion inanity about Palin or McCain, sends people screamin’ for their mommies!

The money talk is another distraction, and ploy tactic of Barack Huesein Obama. Wasn’t it a week ago he was boasting about the 150 million he received for his campaign after the endorsement from Powell? What better way to take peoples minds off THAT money than to “buy off” the tv networks and tabloid shows by pointing out the spending habits of Gov. Palin??

This is another attempt to keep any possible “negative” attention on the McCain campaign, and keep even MORE secrets on the side of Obama!

Election day is just over a week away and I am still wondering “WHO IS BARACK HUESEIN OBAMA”?? His HISTORY matters to me, his EXPERIENCE matters to me! We see what “celebrity” status you have taken on ..after all money will always find money… (celebrity endorsements, bias network time) how is this any idication that you even know whom the middle class is?? Oh, that’s right, middle class to Obama is $250,000?…

Obama,.. broken promises (to McCain himself).. lies, distrust, deceitful, …don’t for a moment believe that the ISSUES are ALL about the economy! Some of us actually WANT to know Who you are? It takes more than a great speech writer to make someone president.

To Mario Lopez—

I just heard you report this story with glee, another Hollywood Obama fan ready to go for the throat of Sarah Palin.
No one seems to give a rip about what the Obamas spend on their clothes and I’m sure they don’t shop WalMart for them.
How about some real dirt on your deceitful relationship with your fiancee who didn’t find out about your constant infidelities until after your marriage? Smart woman to have left you immediately. That’s no different than the direction this campaign is going against McCain. You creeps will try to dig up anything.

JERK.

I just read an article that Lauren Rothman, who is a Washington stylist says that Obama wears suits made by Marx that cost $2,000 a piece and he just ordered 5 of them!. Michelle Obama’s outfits cost her $1,500 each. So quit ragging on what Palin’s outfits cost her. Lauren Rothman said that Palin has to give the outfits back and they will be auctioned off with the money for them going to charity. What is so wrong with that? It is not like Palin is going to keep them. Geez, people!

This is by far the nastiest and most hateful and petty election I have ever seen. Our tax dollars have been spent over 4 to 1 for Obama. And yes it is about him too. If you are going to make an issue about spending on one, why not on the other and everyone else. What about the important issues, such as his link to Ayers? Or the issues regarding Obama’s pastor? Or where his money has gone? There are a tremendous about of issues never even tapped into by Extra. You are doing nothing but one sided swaying and thats not good news. Look at the big picture or stick with the princess’s parading around Hollywood.

the rnc is the one that brought it up and has a problem with it. if you read further than just “extra” you will see MANY republicans that donated money towards this campaign are saying they want their money back. THEY (members of republican party) are the ones that are mad.

Please stop commenting on Sarah Palin’s wardrobe. If she went out there dressed like a slob everyone would be ripping her for that. I’d love to know what Obama and Biden are paying for their suits but nobody will give you that info! Sarah Palin must have really scared the democrats for them to have to resort to picking on her wardrobe! She is an intelligent, amazing, successful woman and anyone that doesn’t see that is ridiculous!

What I don’t understand, is who can Palin get away with Billing Alaska for her daughters flight? Right there you can see is fraud! Billing Alaska for her daughter to fly to New York? Ok, Whats the reason? Her daughter has nothing to do with the campaign, along with the baby. Come on People, wake up and smell the coffee. If she can do this , what other swindling will she do at the COST of US, if she was elected? Just more money out of OUR POCKETS!

Well, EXTRA…I am done with you and your biased reporting!! I will no longer be watching your program…at least Access will report comments from both sides of an issue…most of the time!
What a “tempest in a teapot”! People who do this kind of digging need to get a life! The RNC paid for her wardrobe, it is a valid expenditure as she represents the ticket and they want her to look good. And she won’t be keeping it! Anybody ever check into Hillary’s closet?? And how much was spent on her in the primary? And Michelle’s “real” wardrobe?? You liberals are such hypocrites…and most of you don’t even know how to spell!
The majority of the media in this country are now morally bereft…what a shame! And this includes most of the talk show hosts as well…their bias is so transparent it is disgusting! Joy Behar, Ellen, Dave, and their ilk….keep your vitriol to yourself! This is America.. you are, at the very least, supposed to show some respect to another human being…even if they are a “politician”!!!
Get your priorities straight, EXTRA… how about giving us both sides of the coin! Maybe then I will watch again!
