McCain and Letterman -- Making Nice?

David Letterman has been relentless with pointed barbs candidate John McCain pulled out of a scheduled appearance on "The Late Show" -- only to be interviewed by Katie Couric. Now rumor has it the two are looking to patch things up.

According to the NY Post, reps for the GOP camp are reportedly in talks with executives for Letterman's show. They're said to be negotiating a McCain appearance on "The Late Show" sometime around October 15 -- the date of the final presidential debate.

When Dave found out John was sitting down with Katie, he broadcast a feed of McCain getting his makeup done -- after McCain told Letterman he was on his way to the airport. Since the incident, the comedian has blasted McCain and Palin every night on his show.

A rep for Letterman today told "Extra" they had "no comment."

I have to admit I have always liked watching David Letterman going way back when he jumped on the wall with the velcro suit, but in the past few weeks he has changed my opinion permanently. The “great moments in presidential speeches” never bothered me (I thought it was one of the funniest skits on the show) but his past comments and his nastiness veiled by “humor” is not funny to me. It is amazing in such a short time I see a person I used to like to someone I can not stand watching. If they cancelled his show (which I am sure would not be immediate), it would not bother me. He has lost this once very loyal viewer.

PIXIECHIC - I’m WAY MORE INTERESTED in how obomba is going to get out of HIS lies, because, those are actual, damaging, dangerous lies - McCain had a valid reason not to go, and he’d have been ambushed, anyway. b.o. hasn’t told the truth YET.That is something you should concern yourself with. Lies that will actually affect us. Letterman hasn’t affected ANYONE in years!

IT’S CALLED DAMAGE CONTROL…PEOPLE….If there was no foul made on McCain’s part then there should have been no harm made on Letterman…McCain might want to remove that stigma on people’s mind that he is a LIAR (who just got caught!!!)…Let’s just wait and see..This could be interesting..I’m curious what McCain will say or how he’s going to try to get out of this mess he made….AREN’T YOU?

I’m like most people that have added comments. These celebrities should keep their opinion to themselves. Who cares what they think? They don’t live in the real world. They should but they don’t. Because of liberals, that’s why we can’t drill and have almost $4.00 gas.

Why should John McCain go on a show that he keeps being put down on? There are more important issues then going on David Letterman’s losing show. Get over yourself Letterman, quit whining and GROW UP!

I must say, Letterman has really lower the class of his show! I have watched him evernight since he has been on the air……BUT after all the comments he has made about McCain and Palin, all negative I have had it with his show. I really feel other talk shows should take off on him and see how it likes it. McCain is too good a person to lower himself by being on this show.
By the way, I am a registered democrate, but will be voiting Republican, main because of his stupid attitude toward the Republican Party.

McCain shouldn’t go on Letterman’s show. Poor David….it’s not like we don’t know who he’s voting for. McCain should forget him.
