Report: Jennifer Hudson's Mother Murdered

Dreamgirl Jennifer Hudson's mother and another victim believed to be Jennifer's brother Jason were found shot to death in a South Side Chicago residence on Friday in what has been preliminarily labeled a domestic shooting. (Hudson's father died when Jennifer was a teenager.)

The Chicago Tribune reports that according to public records, the home is owned by Darnell Donerson, Hudson's mother. Hudson, has not been injured, said her bodyguard to the Tribune before referring to a publicist.

A Chicago police spokeswoman said a young boy, either 6 or 7, is missing. Police identified the child as Julian King, but would not say if he is a relative of the star. Police are on the lookout for a white 1994 Chevrolet Suburban with Illinois license plate No. X584859, missing from the home, and the missing child may be in the vehicle. A source says the actress' sister reported the boy missing from the home.

Police are looking for suspect William Balfour, who may have abducted Julian. Balfour is considered armed and dangerous.

Jennifer, 27, appeared on "American Idol" in 2004 and won an Oscar for "Dreamgirls" in 2006. Jennifer announced her engagement to reality star David Otunga last month.

Hudson appears in "The Secret Life of Bees," which opened last Friday, and her song "Spotlight" is at the top of Billboard's Hot R&B/Hip-Hop charts.

Jennifer I am so sorry for your lost and God will be with you through the sorrow in your family. I love children and it breaks my heart dearly to see that people are so cruel to kill an innocent child. I have a seventh month old and a nine year old myself and I pray for kids that God will protect my children. And I love watching your movie over and over all this week, Dreamgirls. I wake up singing your songs.

omg this is so sad….i am so sorry for ur lost. like i don’t even know what to say about this. i’m flabergasted, like, all i can say is that i am so so so sorry that this has happened, u and ur family r in my prayers andi pray that the lord gives u the strength to overcome this battle

Jennifer I have watched you grow before my own eyes. I pray that God is keeping you during your tragedy. I pray especially for your family, that you be given strength to endure what could not be controlled. Have faith, stay strong. You are a beautiful, multi-talented black woman.

Anyone that responds to “honestly” or makes a comment similar should be ashamed of themselves. How dare any of you have the nerve to bring politics into these postings when such a tragedy has just occurred.

Jennifer, I was so upset to hear about this senseless act your brother-in-law committed. May God continue to bless you and keep you. Please know that you will have to keep going, you can’t give up even if you want to.
