I just sent an e-mail to a friend of mine which pointed out that the African American has given so much to this country by way of inventions. For example, THE ELECTRIC LIGHT FILAMENT, THE CLOCK, THE FIRST OPEN HEART SURGERY, even the guy that designed the WHITE HOUSE and CAPITAL, but you only read about their “white counterparts”. There are so many more and just those few contributions lets you know that African Americans have contributed more to this country besides “slavery”!
