Ellen Takes Aim at Palin

1022ellenpalin.jpg

Comedienne Ellen DeGeneres took aim at VP hopeful Sarah Palin's views on the legality of gay marriage.

"Vice presidential candidate, Governor Sarah Palin, says she favors a federal ban on gay marriage," Ellen said on her show today. "Basically, she wants to change The Constitution."

The Emmy-winning talk show hostess continued, "I don't like it. I don't agree. Maybe it's because I'm gay that I think we should all be equal, but I feel that we're all equal. I don't know what people are scared of -- maybe they think that their children will be influenced. I was raised by two heterosexuals, I was surrounded by heterosexuals -- and they didn't influence me."

DeGeneres ended with, "People are going to be who they're going to be, and we need to love them for who they are. That's that."

Ellen and longtime partner Portia de Rossi wed in an intimate Beverly Hills ceremony last August.

If anyone feels less because a gay couple are married, that is THEIR problem and has nothing to do with the gay couple. EVERYONE should have the right to marry anyone they choose and be happy. The great thing about this country is the right to choose. Choose your own religion. Choose your own beliefs. And not have some small minded bigot tell you what to believe! What a country!

I’m siding with Ellen on Gay Marriage. sarah Palin views on gay marriage is very scary. That’s coming from the same person who doesn’t know the function of the vice-president and who spends $150,000 on clothes. Sarah is wrong on gay marriage and she knows it. Meanwhile, I hope California voters will vote down on Prop 8. Vote no on Prop 8.

You know, there is so much going on in this world that is wrong. I am personally TIRED of people spending energy on others personal choices that only affect them. Who womeone loves or is intimate with is there business. I’m am certian that everyone is living in a glass house and no one should be throwing stones. THERE IS BUT 1 JUDGE!!! AT the gate he will NOT ask you how you felt about that person and did that person make you do that or this? HE will ONLY JUDGE YOU FOR YOUR ACTIONS AND THOUGHTS! Worry about living your LIVES in love and forgivness and helping others. There are mutitudes of verses in the Bible and it has always been through out time spoken in context or out of context depending on the speaker. We have so many issues that relate to our exsistence on this planet that we should be concerned about! If a nuclear missle is fired who anyone slept with is my least concern! I am posting a verse from King James version. READ IT and PRAY and take it for what it is.. There is to much hate and prejudices in every country as is, WORK on SELF LOVE!

1 Samuel 2:25 King James Version
If one man sin against another, the judge shall judge him: but if a man sin against the LORD, who shall intreat for him? Notwithstanding they hearkened not unto the voice of their father, because the LORD would slay them.

NOTE: If a sin is done again the law of the LORD HE IS JUDGE NOT YOU! If I steal your car or physically harm you than MAN judges you in the court of law! THATS it!

I think that gay Marriage needs to be legal im the Daugther and sister of gay people and me being maried to a man . I think they should be aloud to marry. Its like telling them they cant VOTE and we all know that is legal for them to do so why not let them get to have a Marriage that will make them happy I am a better mom because of them they have been in my life all my life and that did not make me gay so let them.

People are going to be who they’re going to be, and we need to love them for who they are. That’s that.” Quote, unquote” So Ellen does that inclue Sarah Palin

Oct. 21, in an interview with the Christian Broadcasting Network, Palin said (this is a copy, paste of her own words): “In my own state, I have voted along with the vast majority of Alaskans who had the opportunity to vote to amend our Constitution defining marriage as between one man and one woman. I wish on a federal level that that’s where we would go because I don’t support gay marriage.”

Ellen has a right to her oppinion as much as the next person. And just cuz she is gay doesn’t make her ignorant,or cuz her make-up is not up to some individuales likeing, Ellen is after all a entertainer, and has a right to express her rights and thought’s as a married gay individual, just as anyone eles who has expressed their oppinions on the matter.altho after reading some of the comments left by some individuales the only thing that has amazed me by their ignorance is that people like them are breathing and thinking on their own.

SCREW YOU YOU HOMOPHOBIC SOCIALIST! YOU HAVE NO IDEA THE RELATION BETWEEN WHAT YOU JUST SAID AND THE KLU KLUX KLAN’S ALL WHITE POLICY…DIVORCE IS A PERSONAL MATTER BETWEEN THE TWO PARTIES AND NONE OF YOUR OR ANYONE ELSE’S BUSINESS…WHY DON’T YOU JUST KEEP YOUR NOSE IN YOUR OWN BUSINESS…I RESPECT OPINIONATION BUT YOUR OPINION HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE MATTER AT HAND…GROW A BRAIN!

Marriage is only the beginning to the process called divorce! Divorce is just that nasty inconvenience to move on to the next person. Aren’t there enough divorces out there between heterosexual comples? And now ya wanna compound that problem by only increasing the percentages of divorce rate? Just live together already.

I really think that everyone needs to get over themselves. Who are you to judge? Just because someone is gay does not make them any less of a person. And as for the whole God thing…how do you know He’s not accepting of todays children? Have you talked to Him? Things change. Even God knows that. Stop living in the past and live for the future, accept people for who they are.

Diane, I believe you can speak for yourself as a Christian, but you can’t speak for the majority of born again Christians. I’m really interested where you give that idea, because you are wrong.

Ellen I do enjoy watching your show and I know you do alot of good things for animals and people. But I have to say that I have been married for 24 years and it is not right for a gay couple to have the same rights as a straight married couple. It would make what I have seem worthless. I have never read anywhere that God thinks this is acceptable. Ellen maybe you should watch more of the Animal Planet and see what is natural after all we are all just products of God and nature. None of us would be here if we had 2 moms would we, think about it. Good luck when you have to anwser to God.

I totally agree with the Freedom Of Speech shout outs. So why then is it so “acceptable” for gay people to express how they feel but not so ok for a straight person to disagree with it? Same goes for racism. Why is a racist depicted typically as a white person? Like it’s impossible for black people to be racist?? C’mon people, some will agree some will disagree, but no one deserves exceptions to the rules!

I am happy for Ellen. I nice that she found her true love. Just because we are straight, that don’t mean we can judge others. Lets face it, Ellen has probly done more for people then the Republican’s have. She has a good heart, and she helps where ever she can.
And Leslie, I feel that the only people that are ignorant are the ones that can’t keep an open mind and judge when they wouldn’t like to be judged.

I believe everyone should have the same rights! Everyone should be treated equally. Everyone should do whatever they want with their lifes. It’s no one elses business. So what if i or any other man chooses to marry an other man? What do my decisions have to do with you? Just because you’re “straight” and “normal” doesn’t give you any right to say what anyone should do with their life. Oh, now Ellen can’t say her opinion cause she likes woman? What happen to our “Freedom of Speech”? You all need to stop judging other ppl.! And about the whole “there’s more important issues in the U.S. that we should worry about”. How would you feel if you didn’t have the same rights as others!? How would you feel if you were treated different then others?! Wouldn’t you want to stop that?! Just think about it.

I agree with Katy. Ellen is a very funny and nice person. I like her and have nothing against gays.

But like I said before I 100% AGREE with Palin that gay marriages should be put to end. That is the only thing I like about her. But believe me she is no leader. On the other hand I do think that McCain could be a leader.

WHAT I might do is have the same privileges as a marriage only not calling it a marriage.

JUST REMEMBER EVERYONE THERE IS A REASON FOR THE HOT DOG AND BUN ACTION IF YOU GET MY DRIFT.

I think Ellen is a very funny creative person. Her show is one of the more entertaining. She is actually very pretty. HOWEVER, 2 women or 2 men making love is the most repulsive imagine I can think of. Why do they think God made the male and female parts to fit together like they do? What would have happened if Adam & Eve had been Homosexuals? Then after the flood with only Noah and his family to carry on the human race what would have happened if they were all gays? I can not understand why these people can not understand that what they are doing is against God’s will.
