Colin Powell Endorses Obama

1019obamapowell.jpg

Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama has won over the former Secretary of State Colin Powell -- and received the retired Army General's endorsement today.

"We need a president that will not just continue, even with a new face and some changes and with some maverick aspects, will not just continue basically the policies that we have been following in recent years," the 71-year-old announced this morning on "Meet the Press," as reported by the L.A. Times.

Colin -- who was President Bush's first Secretary of State and served in three GOP administrations total -- called the Illinois senator "a transformational figure."

Powell stated that while he felt both Obama and McCain are qualified to lead from the White House, Sarah Palin -- McCain's choice for VP -- is not. Colin also opined that Barack was better equipped to deal with the nation's financial crisis.

McCain responded to Powell's suggestion that Obama is ready to lead with an interview on "Fox News Sunday," stating that he and Powell "have a respectful disagreement" on the matter.

It only proves once again how militant and ‘nazi-esque’ liberals are, and how they always fight dirty. ESPECIALLY in the face of anyone daring an opposing viewpoint. Forget the bs of 2000, and 2004, when these crybabies called ‘recount’ (pathetic desperation of the sore loser); with all the scamming of votes, and extra votes, and fake votes, and duplicate votes, I can’t believe bo is still in the running; had he any class, he’d denounce this travesty of justice. If these sleazy, ‘he has to win, no matter what, even dishonestly’ antics were happening on the republican side - FORGET ABOUT IT!!! They’d be running after him with stones and torches! I’m not even sure that’s an exaggeration - look how they’re behaving ALREADY. Please, do yourselves a favor, and you tube, ‘obama’s october surprise’. If your skin doesn’t start crawling after THAT, you get what you deserve if he wins. Don’t say you weren’t warned.

Deanna - We need to keep the message alive!

Another example of BIGOTRY —- From Pittsburgm PA

“Police spokeswoman Diane Richard said the robber took $60 from (the victim), then became angry when he saw a McCain bumper sticker on the victim’s car. The attacker then punched and kicked the victim, before using the knife to scratch the letter “B” into her face, Richard said.”

This woman is a volunteer for the McCain campaign. A VOLUNTEER! I have yet to hear of Republicans physically abusing Democrats but I’ve heard several reports of vandalism and physical abuse from Democrats to Republicans. Absolute hatred and emotional rage!
Sickening….

So Powell thinks that Obama is better qualified to handle the finacial crisis does he? Powell must need some money.
I just love how obama always referes to Bush McCain, last I checked the president is Bush and vice pres. is Cheny. I still want to know if Obama is a us citizen we still have not seen a birth certificate. I am scared that we will become a Socialist Country.

THANK GOD! AMY,SUE,JOHN,JESS,EVE, you have all given me HOPE! I agree with everything you said and couldn’t have put it better. Dear Lord I pray there are millions more like you out there. From what I have seen on TV, I was bemoaning the fact that the masses in this country could be led by what they WANT to hear and worse yet, BELIEVE every word. Yes, if there are bigots in this equation, they come from the Obama’s. She in her thesis and he in his 20 yrs with a minister who speaks white hatred, and now this candidate denounces him and we are to believe that Obama and his family were not influenced! I listen to a radio station out of PA that is 1/2 talk 1/2 music and it is primarily black DJ’s and those who call in. It’s a real eye-opener. They are urging blacks to vote for him simply because their only desire is to have a black president in their lifetime. Even the female Judge who spoke on there didn’t seem to realize that running this country might take a bit more than the color of his skin. I pray every night that God has a hand in helping this election to save this country. I think its that important and I have never been a political person. But this Obama scares me to death. Glad to see there are more out there who see what I see. Hope this helps the vote! But how will we know for sure with his monetary influence and issues like “Acorn” already coming forth??????? God help this Nation!

I think i’ve found my favorite website! This may be the only website/media available right now that isn’t liberal invaded! I’ve considered cutting my cable off because I’ve about had it with listening to Obama lie about McCain. Think he’s scared a little? I’m surprised by the number of people who haven’t questioned Obama’s motives and true beliefs. I don’t buy the act he puts on for the camera. I don’t trust him. If it seems to be too good to be true, it probably isn’t true. No leader is 100 percent perfect. Last I checked we were all members of the human race. Humanity does allow for mistakes and emotions. I think John McCain makes faces during discussions with Obama because he finds it hard not to laugh in his face when he says such ridiculous things.

On Powell’s comments; I believe Palin is as qualified to be President as Obama is. Neither one has had the experience needed to be President. McCain and Biden have had military and long time Senate experience. While Obama and Palin are just getting started in the world of politics. Obama should not be number 1 on the dem. ticket. We should vote in older and more experienced leaders instead of wasting our time and trouble on popular people with the media and the movie stars. Get this country back to moral values and good sense.

John - exactly. To me…the smile is a nervous twitch.

So everyone…did you hear the latest?? Let me be the first to inform you.

SOME of Obama’s expenditures (keep in mind that this is only a few catagories out of the over $650 million he’s raised thus far) ——-

Salaries & Benefits $44,169,124

Travel $39,345,592 —— WOW! I’m sorry…what are we getting on Palin for? Oh yeah - $21,000 to keep her family with her on the campaign trail. Imagine - a mother of a new born with special needs keeping her family structured and together. I’m sorry…what’s the problem here???

Polling/Surveys/Research $21,500,862

Parties (Fed & Non-federal) $3,775,359 —- really? ONLY that much??

Fundr Direct Mail/Telemarketing $23,527,966

Broadcast Media $160,446,232 —— No wonder the media LOVES him!

Charitable Donations $26,455 —— KINDA SAD DON’T YOU THINK. And only two of the 15 contributions were to individuals! Ok…now that’s really sickening.

No Disclosure for where $14,136,800 was spent ——— hmmmmmm…Colin…do you know where that went?? ;)

Obama is calling ACORN a “distraction”. Obama is calling Bill Ayers a “distraction”. For me, the TRUE distraction is when Barack Obama is cornered with questions about his past, and past acquaintences, he quickly turns to the issues at hand (economy, taxes, 8-more years of Bush) INSTEAD of giving any solid answers? He dances everytime! He smiles really big, just like his VP Candidate Mr. Biden, and LOOKS DOWN? To me, I read that as ‘something to hide’… and only causes distrust! Why is it seemingly not important to the media to know about this mans HISTORY?? Why is it dismissed as John McCain coming accross as “angry”? Obama is a smooth and talented speaker,.. he is a lawyer after all. He definately knows how to “inspire” and has that “charisma” that people just get lost in. What people are actually lost in is his WORDS. “Just Words”. A lot of us are still asking ourselves some very basic questions. Who is this guy, I never heard of him even a year ago? How do you spend 20 years in an anti-white anti-american church and conveniently dis-associate and disagree with the preacher whom has preached his message so long (rev. Wright)? How do you conveniently become a “past friend” of a known Terrorist (Bill Ayers)? How exactly do you become qualified, and remotely deserve to be President after only THREE years in the Senate, and having never served in the U.S. Military? If you’re like me, you’re STILL waiting for some straight answers from Barack Huesein Obama on such questions, and here we are only TWO weeks from electing a President. One thing I certainly know? That I not for even ONE MOMENT question the Patriotic Spirit of one John Sidney McCain.

AMY!! I was ‘doffing my hat’ to you, really and truly! Your last post WAS brilliant, sincerely. BTW,I got the drift about MY OPINION, who can’t understand that MANY voters, not just us, feel the way we do, based on an ability/need to separate the wheat from the chaff, if you will. I didn’t take you any other way but the way you seem - straightforward. I’m hoping against hope that many read your posts, if for no other reason, than to clear the fog of confusion from their minds.

Sue - NO! I hope you didn’t take it that way. My purpose in differentiating our styles was to attempt to convince “That Opinion” that we are, in fact, different people! It’s been fun seeing other people express similar idology in other ways. My huband and I spend a lot of time talking about the consitution, subjective polls, the latest news and where to find TRUE journalism! Thanks for your compliment. I enjoy persuasive writing!

Leave it to the democratic network to brainwash the Obama lamas! “the Wall Street Journal Polls” indicated that Obama is “liked, trusted, somewhat experienced, able to handle issues” blah blah blah… Obviously the Wall Street Journal is DEMOCRATIC? Again NBC slants the race into having people toss their hands in the air as IF this is an already decided election? What are these POLLS to real people in this country? Have YOU ever been POLLED by these people? Don’t tell me whom has won the Presidency when that isn’t decided til NOVEMBER!! Seems to me MEDIA has already DECIDED for themselves whom has won this election. The big upset is when election day finally comes and the networks boasting nothing but “positives” and never negatives about their own chosen candidate, will be surprised to find that we real life americans do NOT allow the tv mainstream to decide our votes for us!

AMY - WOW, WOW, and WOW!! (am I not articulate?) I’d be hard-pressed to find one to top your last comment. Separate and besides the fact that weseem to share the same values and political opinions, your words should be copied and handed out to all the naysayers and liberal bullies. I’d love to see this post as an independent editorial in ANY paper!(of course, we know, unfortunately, they do not possess the courage or foresight to ever print such an iron-clad viewpoint - ah, well. Their loss) PS: There goes MY OPINION again, w/ the X-ray vision (or bigot attitude), saying how most of the hate-mongers are white! It’s this kind of thinking/brainwashing that will keep a person from becoming all that they can be. Unbelievable. TO: C WRIGHT - ALL MEN ARE created equal, of course that is ABSOLUTELY true, with no exception, race, color, or creed-wise.. The experiences OF the men, however, are not, and THAT, among other things, is what is being judged.

I think McCain said it best when he said, “he wished that Colin Powell would have actually met Sarah Palin before judging her.”

Sarah Palin isn’t a politician. She’s a neighbor. She’s a fellow citizen who got sick and tired of the government taking our tax dollars and using it to build museums for Charlie Rangle (D), or sending money to their wives, or giving it to groups like ACORN.

She doesn’t walk and talk like a politician and that’s why people love her. Even though the Republicans tried to make her sound like one, they finally realized that she’s better left alone.

Meanwhile, all the Democrats have to say is BS to slam her family and claim she’s not qualified to be President.

The truth is… she has had executive experience and Obama hasn’t. Obama’s executive experience isn’t referenced ever, because the Democrats know that his executive experience involved running a fund that was created by Bill Ayers.

CWright It is really sad that you say it is all President Bush, for one look at all the Democrats in the senate. They all have to take a vote.If Clinton would have started the job when he was told about the 911 happen it would not all been put on Bush. So let the Democrats take some of the blame to. The part where you say all men are created equal then lets start showing it for MCCAIN. And in the CONSTITUTION IT ALSO SAY IN GOD WE TRUST THE DEMOCRATS WONT TO TAKE THAT OUT. THEY HAVE ALL READY TAKEN OUT THE TEN COMMANDMENTS IN SOME STATES SO WHAT NEXT WILL THEY DO? aND WHEN YOU DO READ REVELATIONS MAYBE THE DESCRIPTION THAT IS SAID YOU MIGHT RECOGNIZE SOMEONE WHO FITS THAT DESCRIPTION.
