My son is now 6 years old and was diagnosed 13 days before his 2nd birthday. Although this has been a struggle, we are currently using an insulin pump and although this is not a cure, it is a fabulous tool that helps my son regulate his BG levels. I highly recommend it to anyone interested in gaining control. I will also add that my son is an active six year old who participates in many team sports. He is active, healthy, happy and the most strong willed child I’ve ever met. He is certainly an asset to the diabetic community as he is willing to share his experiences to help other. We do hope that soon…we find a cure!!!!!!!!!!!

My son has type 1 diabetes. He was diagnosed at nine years of age and is now 15. This illness has nearly destroyed our lives. It is a constant battle , one I am afraid we will never win. I pray for a cure to save my son and all the other people out there dealing with this. Especially children.

My uncle and my husband have diabetes. I am constantly a nervous wreck as I try to arm myself with knowledge about it. It is so tragic and I can only hope there will be a cure in this lifetime.
