Smackdown! Bill O'Reilly vs. Barney Frank

Fasten your seat belt, you're in for a bumpy ride when you watch this video of Bill O'Reilly losing what little cool he has with Congressman Barney Frank, accusing him of failing to properly oversee the banking industry. Bill points the finger at Frank for saying that failed lenders Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac were sound -- a claim O'Reilly says mislead Americans.

"Come on, you coward!" Bill screams at Frank, who denies encouraging Americans to buy stock. "Say the truth!"

"You start ranting, and the only way to respond is to almost talk as boorish as you," Frank blasted. 'I'm not going to be bullied by your ranting... You're not going to shut me up.''

The Democrats are to blame? What kind of Kool-aide have you been drinking? When Pres. Bush took over in 2000, we had a surplus in the treasury and the budget had been balanced for 4 years. the Republicans were in control of both houses of congress from 1995-2007. Explain to us all how them Democrats are to blame? Anything they wanted to do in the last 8 years, they could have but it’s so easy to let business run wild and blame everybody else. BIll is only ranting because he lost money. He is the most self-serving piece of flesh walking around in the universe today—well except maybe for Rush Limbaugh.

Bill Oreilly is not always right, but he was right to say what he did about Frank, IMO. The Clinton Administration pushed banks to loan to high risk borrowers in the name of “social engineering.” Democrats are as much to blame as anybody, if not more.

Bill thinks too high of himself, most of the time he fights thinking he is the smartest. Bill, you shoul leave your ego, high temper at home. You cant scream at your guests, if you do not have them come, there will be no stupid show of yours!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Whew! Watching this was like watching the View tv show. Everyone talks at once so you can never really hear anyone’s point of view, which is why I turn the station when they all get ranting too. Bill, I like you very much, but you have to get calmed down and use some manners. These people, whatever their view points, are guests on your show and you should allow them to speak for the reasons that you asked them to be a guest. Give your view, let them give their view so we, as viewers, can enjoy this discourse and not want to sit there with our hands over our ears to shut out the shouting. There are many things wrong with this government and President Bush allowing windfall profits on gasoline is one of them. Gas fuels, excuse the pun, everything. Almost every single thing in this country gets delivered by truck, train or plane. Raising the costs of fuel raises the price of nearly EVERYTHING. So almost everything is affected. Bush is in oil so what does he care if the fuel prices rise. He’s just going to be able to put more feathers in that bed he’s preparing for his retirement and the heck with the rest of us. My point is, it’s more than just one person who has damaged this country and it’s people. Greed has always been on the forefront of disasters to many countries over the course of history and now maybe it’s our turn. I’m retired. My greed is trying to put gas in my vehicle and food on the table.

Bill O Reilly is not operating with a full load.

The man (BO) is psychotic & in love with himself.

Something should have been done, but I don’t see a credible case to be made against Frank. There were many bad actors in this.

Not the least of which is a government which wants to deregulate everything.

As it is NOW - we have no real guarantees for getting our money’s worth, because no one is watching the henhouse.

The Bush admin said they were talking about this for months - and we hear about it only at the “11th hour?”

If the bailout was the Dem’s and Barney Frank’s fault, how come McCain called for the chairman of the SEC to be fired? Are you saying the GOP candidate doesn’t know what he’s talking about?

And why is the liberal media covering this mess up? They know exactly who is to blame but are holding back “commenting” on it because they fear their fearless leader, Obama, will get the back lash of the democratic congress’s mismanagement of Freddy and Fanny. This makes me sick!

LOL! Barney - you are a jerk. You and your friends (Meeks) are to blame. Back in 2004, you were warned about this as a problem but blamed the conservatives for attempting to create a problem that “didn’t exist!” Well..it looks like it did. And Bill cornered you! Good job Bill! Any doubters…go look up the C-SPAN footage from 2004. A few guys on you-tube were able to get a hold of it. You should hear the crap coming out of Barney’s mouth. “WE’re fine….bla bla bla.” What a load of crap!

First of all when Mr.Frank came on Bill O’s show he should have known what he was facing but Bill O is a hard head, never lets a guest say what they want unless they agree with him, and should be above screaming at guest, since he is the smartest man on TV (according to him). Wonder if he’ll have his body language expert decipher this scene? No, I don’t watch FOX anymore because they are all bigots including Greta!

It is about time someone speaks up to one of these selfish Represenatives involved in the Wall street disaster that will affect all of us one way or the other. I am so glad O’reilly called him out. I wish there were more individuals like O’reilly that would stand up for the American people.
James sorry to correct you but Barney Franks is very much a Democrat. Barney knew about this potential disaster long before us Americans and did not do a thing…nice to see they are looking out for us.

Mr. Frank had this coming. Mr. O’Reilly’s delivery certainly wasn’t very nice, but I think he feels the same frustration and anger that alot of us taxpayers feel. I’m royally ticked at Frank and his cohorts in this mess!!

Bill O’Reilly is a pompous, loud, boorish man who doesn’t interview, he rants hot air much like Rush Limbaugh. He is a rich man who doesn’t give a darn about any one who is “middle-class America”. He only cares about what HE lost in the stock market.

Bill needs to let people get their point across, he won’t though. If Barney Frank actually spoke it would indicate that he doesn’t agree with Bill. You can’t do an interview with Bill and disagree with him, it’s just not allowed.

It’s everyone’s fault we’re in this mess’ the government, the banks, the media and us. The government doesn’t regulate; Banks try to get away with whatever they can because they think they can make money; The media spins a skewed view of it all; and WE spend beyond our means.

Although Bill is a good interviewer he needs to remember his manners (you don’t talk over someone else); he needs to remember you can catch a lot more flies with honey then vinegar. Barney needs to remember we the people do remember things; and it’s not nice to twist spoken words around after you have said them esp if they are a matter of public record. There are 535 people (435 congressmen, 1 president, and 9 Supreme Court justices) who are responsibile for getting us in this mess we’re in. Remember Voting Public: we gave them their jobs and we can take the jobs away!

I have stopped watching Bill O’Reily. He is never wrong, he will not let his guest speak without his big mouth opening up before they are finished. All he does is sell his books and collectors items for a price. If he is so good, he should run for office and get on the other side for a change and see what it is like. He is an idiot!

If people do their research, you will clearly see that Barney and his cohorts are to blame for this mess. Look at the economy before the Democrats took charge and what happened when they came into power. Now to be fair both parties share the blame. Look at the pork they added to the bailout bill. They couldn’t do what was right and pass a clean bill. Shameful!!!

This interview is horrible…I have lost what little respect I had for O’Reilly.

He and his antics remind me of the bullies that demand the American People bail them out of their Wall Street mess. Grow up O’Reilly or go home.
