Streisand: McCain Choosing Palin is 'Desperate and Irresponsible'

0909babsmccain.jpg

Political activist Barbra Streisand took to the Internet with some fervent political activism -- and Funny Girl is not amused by John McCain's veep choice of Sarah Palin!

The outspoken Hillary Clinton supporter ranted in her blog about McCain picking Palin as his running mate, calling the choice "desperate and irresponsible." Babs also accused the GOP nominee of pandering to women who may go for the ticket simply because Sarah "has two X chromosomes."

Streisand, who threw her support to Obama when he landed the nomination -- will be hosting a $28K per plate benefit for him in Beverly Hills.

NEXT: Did Babs Play Fair with John McCain?

Barbara is all washed up and ugly in looks and all aspects. She is a idiot as everyone has been saying. McCain is a true American dedicated and honest. Obama is the devil in disguise.

Barbara couldn’t be more right. She has only said what many americans are thinking.

I hear politicians, pundants, anchormen and anchorwomen, all expressing their views and opinions. What about mine? Who is actually listening to me, the average citizen. I appreciate that Barbara has done because I feel that, through her, my voice is being heard.

One thing I know for sure. If Obama had picked Hilary as his VP you would never have heard of Sarah Palin.

Oh, a little note to republicans. There is no need to insult just because you disagree. Christians? I sometimes wonder.

Lets put all the drama aside, Barbara has a right to her opinion as do we all. I hope we all will look at the issues rationally and vote with our intelligence and not with our emotions. Yes, Mrs Palin brought a new energy to the Republican ticket. She is intelligent, strong, seems to be a good mother and a competent woman. I feel her energy!!! But……I have gone through 8 years of a failing economy and our country is in trouble. I am scared to death to go another 4 years feeling that we made the wrong choice. I am going to THINK this one through. I am going to listen to what the candidates say, I am going to use logic, my gut feelings. I don’t want a Maverick, we don’t need someone to just independently take on conforming the government like a experience warrior opting for warfare. I want someone to use all the leadership skills, to be able to attract competent, committed people to support and fight for this country and it’s citizens. use diplomacy, organize to get programs and policies for the economy, health issues, and our resources. I research, by listening, reading and watching. I don’t waste time, dogging other peoples opinions. I make sure I have all the info I need to make a rational, intelligent decision. Because my children, and grandchildren need a leader that will be strong and keep this country secure for all people. Please THINK about who will get us back on track. Look at the BIG PICTURE, don’t vote your heart, vote your conscience. Do the right thing!!!!! Seriously look at McCain & Palin and Obama and Biden. Both McCain and Obama are strong leaders, they have families, sons going to Iraq, It shouldn’t matter if the candidates are women, men, black or white, but which one is going to give us the change and leadership we need to move this country back to the great country it was….In God we Trust!!!

Barber is a ugly bleeding heart liberal an should keep her mouth shut. Besides that Obama starts off with a lie, he clams to be an African American which he is not, if he said he was an American like I am and I agreed with his polices I might could consider him.

When is it a crime to express your opinion whether you’re a celebrity or not. We all pay taxes, and we all have different life styles. Don’t hate a person because they have been blessed in a field that they chosed to persue and became wealthy. You chosed your career, and if you didn’t make the money you thought you should have, well that’s on you. Leave out the nasty remarks and stick to the issues. Do you think your candidate is the best person for this job? Are your concerns being addressed by your candidate? Are you supporting your party or the issues. Don’t get side tracked thinking that either candidate is your savior, but vote because you have an opinion and a right to participate in this historical event.

Why don’t you IDIOTS pay attention!!! When you vote Agree it adds to the Agree box, if you vote disagree, it does not change! Only those who AGREE with MS. BS (her initials are so appropriate!!HA!) are the only ones that are bitching about the vote being bogus!

I think Barbara hit it on the head and i stand behind her 100%. McCain’s picked her because she is a women, and he thinks that other women might follow her!!!!!!!!!!buzz he’s wrong. Why would you vote for someone that don’t know whats going on outside of Alaska, furthermore i don’t think any ever heard of her until now. Who in their right mine would want to go through another four years being just like the last eight years. Its time for a change stop discriminating and do what right for the American people; not for someone who would make a promise but keep it and McCain is not the one to get the job done.

this survey is bullshit…probably another republican trick. everytime i chose dis-agree it also said i agreed. come on…now when this survey is reported it will show that people really like this woman. I am voting for Obama even more so now. I hate being bamboozelled, tricked, hoodwinked led astray and lied to. SOME KIND OF SURVEY IT IS JUST LIKE THOSE REPUBLICIANS……….

I wish the news would quit reporting what the actors say concerning politics because we the public do not care at all. If a pig was running as a democrat she would be for it with her loads of money. She loved the Clintons no matter what dirty deeds they did. Babs you are not important to us.

I feel it is ridiculous that stars like Streisand go running around spouting off about political candidates or really anyone in general. Just because you have a modicum of fame and people look up to you does not give you the right to disparage another person of their beliefs, efforts, hardships or accomplishments. More and more it looks like a large portion of the Hollywood elite prefer Obama and his group, not for their so called politics (which is more a sideshow twist into high school “click-ism” then real world issues) but for how much they are willing to stroke their egos and pander to them for donations. McCain and Palin speak on issues affecting real Americans daily. They relate to realistic American struggles - not Hollywood drama. I believe in Palin and McCain’s sincerity and ability to lead this country. You as free Americans are aloud the innately given privilege to run your mouth about things you are no more qualified to be a judge of the next guy. And the only reason you have that is due thanks to the brave sacrifice and support of people over this nation’s history, like McCain and Palin. So believe as you will but stop trying to use your fame as a political bargaining chip and allow us average Americans to make up our own minds on which we trust to protect us and see us through the next 4 years.

When did we get to the point that we need Hollywood to think for us???

Most of what America has heard about Ms Palin lies between a half truth and a lie. People, wake up and learn for yourselves. Their new message of CHANGE is little more than plagerism [sp] when the “experience” argument went away. While I honor McCain’s military experience, graduating 5th from the bottom of his Naval Academy class and being a POW does NOT qualify him automatically to be president. I too am a Viet Nam vet and am military retired. Doesn’t make me a hero or qualified to be president although I bet I would have done better than W! Please get smart on the REAL candidates so that you vote with clear knowledge and not some starry eyed fantasy about a women from AK who if given the choice would move AK right out of the union. Speaking of which what does John think about her husband being both a UNION member and a NON-republican (not a democrat or indepenent either. Get smart America before you end up living the same night mare you have lived for the last nearly 8 years. Vote your conscience not your heart and do it with intelligence, please!

Yes, Barbra has a right to her opinion. However, why does she feel she is qualified to critique McCain and Palin like she did. I’m not trying to be mean, however, Barbra is NOT good looking and I feel that she must be jealous of Sarah Palin’s good looks to have made that crude remark about Sarah having two “X” chromosomes!!! Sarah is a spunky woman that is for sure, but she is very feminine at the same time. SARAH PALIN IS A BREATH OF FRESH AIR !!! She doesn’t fall into the same category of so many politicians where she tries to be politically correct and seems like someone’s puppet. She is herself, that’s why she appeals to so-o-o-o many people. Yes, McCain picked her to get the women’s vote—what’s wrong with that??? The Democrats had a chance to put a woman in the White House but they were pursuaded instead by a smooth talker, so now the Republicans can pick up some of the women’s vote. Hey, why do you think that Obama picked Biden—did he think he would pick up some votes for that choice?? Obama did the same thing. It’s called politics.
As far as the person who critized Sarah Palin for going back to work just a few days after giving birth to her baby—that just shows that she is tough!! If she would have stayed away for 6 weeks, she would have gotten a lot of complaints saying that she wasn’t a good governor. I guess she can’t please everyone. Has anyone done any research as to how much time has been devoted to Obama on the news versus time given to the McCain ticket?? Up until the time that he chose Sarah Palin, the media was so-o-o one sided with Obama coverage that it was ridiculous. And by the way, how did most of you feel when Obama went over to Europe this past summer? Were you feeling like me, wondering what gave him the right to promise all those countries what he would do? I felt that he thought he was already President. Who does he think he is?? Isn’t he assuming a lot to have done that?

This is for sls. No one writes their own speach. Need to check your facts a lot further probably on everything!!!!!!
Streisand needs to get a life and with prayers McCain will be elected. No I am not a republican, democrat. I vote for the person or persons who prove they will make the best decisions for the people of THIS country
