Streisand: McCain Choosing Palin is 'Desperate and Irresponsible'

0909babsmccain.jpg

Political activist Barbra Streisand took to the Internet with some fervent political activism -- and Funny Girl is not amused by John McCain's veep choice of Sarah Palin!

The outspoken Hillary Clinton supporter ranted in her blog about McCain picking Palin as his running mate, calling the choice "desperate and irresponsible." Babs also accused the GOP nominee of pandering to women who may go for the ticket simply because Sarah "has two X chromosomes."

Streisand, who threw her support to Obama when he landed the nomination -- will be hosting a $28K per plate benefit for him in Beverly Hills.

NEXT: Did Babs Play Fair with John McCain?

Barbra should stick to what she knows best, being a demanding DIVA. How do we know she wasn’t under the desk in the oral office with Bill. Is there nothing she won’t do to be in the political limelight. Just Sing BABS.

Anything B.S. endorses is the OPPOSITE
of what I vote for.
Hypocrite Limo Liberal. yek.

I am an Independent & I will vote for McCain because of the amazing Gov.Palin.
My family & friends are voting the same way & most are Democrats.

We’d love to see an African american President but the right one.
Obama is a Marxist and so inexperienced.

Who cares what Barbara Streisand thinks? It is an irresponsible and undereducated Hollywood that has kept woman back. I applaud John McCain for his bold choice in candidates.
Finally a woman that my sons can look up to and see Yes! a woman could be President and she doesn’t have to act like a man to do it!

Interesting your comments will not allow me to vote in favor of McCain or comments against him. RIGGED

I’m glad McCain had the ***** to pick a woman since Obama lost his somewhere along the campaign trail. This DEMOCRAT is voting for the McCain/Palin ticket. IT’S TIME for a woman to be in line for the highest seat in the country. Is she any good? Who the **** cares! Since so many of you are backing Obama just because of his ethnic origin I see no reason not to vote Republican because the vice-presidential nominee has breasts…just like me.

Political moves don’t impressed me. History will decide on McCains choice if he is President. Hopefully it will be a benefit to the country. What I’m
really surprized with all the jabbing at BS because of her hollywood status. She has an opinion like everyone else. For people to say she is telling us what to think is…strangely enough defensive. You can disagree or agree with what she says..But Maybe, just maybe, some of you are doing what she hopes your not doing. Suporting McCain only because he pick a woman for his running mate.

Barbara has made all of her money from the people who support the Republican ticket. The Democrats have no idea who she is. She needs to go away or get out and run for public office herself. She can’t sing, she lives a life style that contradicts her vocal beliefs. I bet she still votes Republican.

Instead of listening to all the Democrats who think we had a failing economy for the last 8 years, why doesn’t everyone sit back & look at the whole picture?? We had the terrorist attacks right after Bush was elected and we built the economy back up…the economy didn’t really fall apart until the last two years when the Democrats took control of the House. Quit blaming the Republicans for all your greed.

It’s very obvious that most of the democrats feel they have to support Obama for reasons other than their own. Hollywood votes democrat because they will be blackballed if they don’t. Blacks feel they have to vote for Obama because of his color; although he is just as much white as he is black. And then you have the “has beens” such as Babs who can’t sing worth a crap anymore and she sure isn’t getting prettier in her old age….so what’s her choice’s…get ugly and stay at home or play politics because you think someone cares what you have to say??say?? Who the heck is she to bash someone who almost gave his life for her freedom?? And what is it with Sarah Palin and Babs??….oh, I get it Babs, you hate all pretty women as you ain’t one and never was….I understand your love for Hilary, now.

Do us all a favor Babs, give your voice to the crows that land on your nose and let pretty people live their lives.

I never liked Barbra Streisand, but I totally agree with her on this one. It scares the heck out of me to think Sarah Palin would be a heartbeat away from the presidency should she and McCain be elected. Be afraid; be verrry afraid if this were to happen. McCain didn’t put country first this time, or he would never have selected her after having met her only once.

Oh Barbara…grow up! What have you done for your country? Compare yourself with John McCain and Sarah Palin…oh there is NONE. You’re not half the woman that Sarah Palin is and John McCain is a Honorable American who puts his country first. They will make a terrific team as President and Vice President of this wonderful country that we are blessed to live in. If you don’t like it leave.

Well, Barbra - I thought you were going to leave the country if Bush was elected - looks to me like you’re still here! Will you PROMISE to leave this time if McCain wins?

I completely agree with Barbara Streisand. McCain will see in November that his choice was cynical and transparent. Women don’t vote based on gender!

I told my husband, a 25 year Political Science professor, about the unbelievable number of bloggers who still claim to think that Senator Obama is Muslim. He doubts it. He suggested that I ask these ignorant bigots if they can even spell the Senator’s credentials, like “Harvard Law Review” or “Constitutional scholar”. Then, direct them to factcheck.org.

Ok, this is completely ridiculous. First of all, am I the only person who is not shocked that another celebrity is siding with the democrats? Celebrities think they know everything and they usually know nothing. They vote for Democrats because the Democrats give celebrities what they want. Republicans tend to tell celebrities to shut up and join the rest of the crowd. Secondly, to Draea, you accuse the American people of all being racist because some people do not vote for Obama. You need to get a clue. I personally know a slew of people who are voting for Obama BECAUSE of his color which is reverse discrimination. Discrimination is 2-way street. Second, you speak of McCain and Bush as if they were buddies who agree about the way Bush has ran the country. Let me spell it out for you… MCCAIN DESPISES BUSH!!! He has stated the fact that he does not like Bush and his policies on more than one occasion. Here is a fact for you… Obama claims that he reaches out across the aisle in an attempt work with the Republican side. If that is true, how does he explain his 97% voting rate. That would be 97% in favor of Democrats and a whopping 3% in favor of Republicans. I’m not saying McCain is the poster boy for co-existence. His 90% rating is not too stellar either, but it shows he is more willing to work with Democrats for a resolution than Obama is with the Republicans. Lastly, what seems to make all of these people think that Palin is not qualified to be VP. The reason is because she is a woman. Anyone who says differently is a liar. Bill Clinton was governor of AR before becoming President and W was governor of Texas before becoming President. So if a governor had enough “experience” to get voted into office as President for the last 12 years straight, what makes the governor of AK unqualified to be VP? And as far as experience goes, why not ask Obama how many bills or laws he has written at the state level or national level. The answer is none. Wow, he’s qualified… spent all this time in both State Senate and in the Senate and never even penned a bill. I’m not even sure he knows how to. As it stands, I will be voting for McCain and Palin, because their actions speak volumes about how they want to help the people of this country and not the government itself. And for anyone to insinuate that I am voting for someone based on color is not only insulting, it’s hypocritical.
