Streisand: McCain Choosing Palin is 'Desperate and Irresponsible'

0909babsmccain.jpg

Political activist Barbra Streisand took to the Internet with some fervent political activism -- and Funny Girl is not amused by John McCain's veep choice of Sarah Palin!

The outspoken Hillary Clinton supporter ranted in her blog about McCain picking Palin as his running mate, calling the choice "desperate and irresponsible." Babs also accused the GOP nominee of pandering to women who may go for the ticket simply because Sarah "has two X chromosomes."

Streisand, who threw her support to Obama when he landed the nomination -- will be hosting a $28K per plate benefit for him in Beverly Hills.

NEXT: Did Babs Play Fair with John McCain?

HELLO YOU PEOPLE ARE GETTING WAY OF THE FACTS…What she said bares a lot of truth and there is no denying it. Face the facts this lady is a nobody…it would have made more sence if he got someone male or female more accomplished? DAH!!!

It’s so interesting that, as always, the Republicans who love to hate Streisand cant’t spell, speak before they know any of the facts. Barbra Streisand has given $28 million of her own money to causes that the majority of Americans care about: Civil rights, AIDS research, climate change, etc. You people who criticize Streisand can’t defend your arguments so you just attack her personally. Move to Iran or China where you get arrested for speaking your opinion.

She needs to have a nice big cup of shut the f*** up!! Being part of the Hollywood elite does not bestow her with some greater knowledge that she should force down our throats! In fact she is so far out of touch with Middle America she is irrelevant. I don’t want the kind of change some clown with a bogus birth certificate and no track record has to offer.

Can we address the issues -
i.e. what happens when the Chinese &
Saudi’s call the trillians, trillians, trillians of $$$ that they’ve loande us
to Invade Iraq - -
I have a hard time thinking of a President who was a Prisioner of War supporting a false war - -
WE were invaded by the Talaban - WE
invaded a dictator but he had nothing to do with the invasiton and MURDER of our citizens. However, we haven’t done anything with regard to the Sudan &
Congo - -
We are in deep trouble and Palin for
VP takes us further into the depths of
disaster. Our economy cannot withstand
4 more years of BUSHitis !!

Hey Babs your mouth opens and garbage comes out. I wish I could meet you in person so we could discuss politics. This is for you and anyone else who believes in entitlement. The governments job is to govern, not to employ, not to supply handouts or to take money from people and offer socialized health care. If you want people to have certain things, give YOUR money to their cause. You are a disgusting person and one of the many reasons why our great country is going south.

Barbra said if Bush was elected she would leave America…she didn’t leave when he was elected the first time nor the second….why would anyone care what a liar like her would say. Just because she is a “celebrity” we should listen to her….NO WAY

She has no REAL substance and is just not a qualified leader for the position!!!! KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK BARB ARA!

Barbara Streisand is totally over-rated in her own mind. I believe her head is too big because her heart is obviously small. Shut up, Barbara and get a real voice.

First of all.. Im not a Striesand fan but I have to aggree about the whole Women Vice Prez Thing…..This is just a last ditch attempt to gain a vote from women. How could a man who doesnt erven know the price of a gallon of milk know what would be right for the country. And “WHO THE HECK IS SARA PAYLIN ANYWAY”? What does she bring to the table. I sure he could have selected someone better…Shoot There are plenty of well acomplished women in this country he could have found.

I remember when Babs was gaga for William “Jefferson” Clinton. Somebody made a video for Clinton where they claimed the middle name “Jefferson” came from Thomas Jefferson. Babs made a comment to someone that she needed to go study up on this “Jefferson” guy. Of course Bubba kept quiet about the real origin of his middle name.

His dear mother, Virginia Dell Cassidy Blythe Clinton Dwire Kelley (June 6, 1923 – January 6, 1994), born Virginia Dell Cassidy, was a pure bred southern girl. She liked horse racing among other things, god bless her little pea picking soul. I thought she was the best of the bunch. Do you think she gave her boy the middle name of “Jefferson” based on Thomas Jefferson, or Jefferson Davis, the first president of the confederacy? Hmmmmm?

Babs is an idiot!

Using such childish monikers as “Hollywood Limo Liberal” is pandering to the lowest Republican truth. They love negative titles, true or not. Ms. S has earned her right to support anyone she chooses. Luckily, we still get to express ourselves freely. Except for those Republicans who still want to take that away from us.

I dont think some actor like barbara streisand should get the privelage of going public and saying anything about a man like John Mccain. what the hell has she done with her life compared to his. she played fake for a bunch of years in front of a camera. he did the real thing for his country. not for fame or fortune. who does she think she is. untill she goes up for a nomination herself i think she should keep her mouth shut. that goes for all celebrities.

You tell ‘em Barbra! Sarah Barracuda is about the last woman we need anywhere near the White House. I’m going to do everything I can for the Obama/Biden ticket.

Streisand is wrong again, as she always seems to be. She should take the advice McCain gave her on Saturday Night Live a few years ago — he’ll stop singing if she’ll stop trying to dabble in politics.

I am a card carrying Democrat and have always voted for the party line. Not this time. I am convinced that the Democrats are out of touch with many in their party.

I would have voted for Hillary in a minute, but Obama, not a chance. I don’t like his circle of friends, his messiah complex, and his lack of time in grade as a senator.

While I don’t see eye to eye with Sarah Palin, I think as my party says it’s time for a change, and she is just what the country needs.

As for Babs who cares what she thinks !!

I’m disappointed that you would give her the media she received. Ironic that HER money is allowed to talk. SHE claims to represent the oppressed. Hard to believe. I wish that she and Baldwin would just be grateful for the blessings they have and stay out of politics.

Barbara who? Loonies like her made me leave the “women’s” movement years ago. First you’re told to vote for someone because they’re a “sister” no matter how unqualified, then demonize another “sister” who’s not a Marxist. Some cause — with so many self-serving ideas and less than stellar spokespeople, it may be time to admit it’s socially unacceptable to be a Democrat or belong to NOW.

Barbara Streisand should stick to singing and making movies. Just because you are famous doesn’t mean you know more about how this country should vote.

I am offended by Ms. Streisand’s comment that the only reason a woman would vote for Palin is just because she is a woman. I must have missed her coronation as Queen Mother. She is part of the problem in America, when are women going to start giving each other a hand up and just agree to disagree? Palin has commitment to her family, her state and her country. And Ms. Streisand has…oh that’s right, money, which obviously gives her a right to criticize the rest of us because we don’t agree with her!

Some of these folks got to be kidding if they do not think that McCain is not playing on Hillary’s coattails is dreaming. They had to pull something out of a hat since we have the worst president in known history in this country.
