Streisand: McCain Choosing Palin is 'Desperate and Irresponsible'

0909babsmccain.jpg

Political activist Barbra Streisand took to the Internet with some fervent political activism -- and Funny Girl is not amused by John McCain's veep choice of Sarah Palin!

The outspoken Hillary Clinton supporter ranted in her blog about McCain picking Palin as his running mate, calling the choice "desperate and irresponsible." Babs also accused the GOP nominee of pandering to women who may go for the ticket simply because Sarah "has two X chromosomes."

Streisand, who threw her support to Obama when he landed the nomination -- will be hosting a $28K per plate benefit for him in Beverly Hills.

NEXT: Did Babs Play Fair with John McCain?

“People who need people…are the luckiest people in the world”…REALLY??? The people of the world would be a whole lot luckier without people like her!

Barbra and all the rest of the STARS today are ignorant in backing an inexperienced, charismatic, and talented speaker as next President of the United States!
It takes some background and experience in the political spotlight to be able to handle such a job as President, when all our futures are at stake!!!

I look forward to dumping all my CD’s of
Barbara Streisand. Too bad, because as a
performer she is wonderful. Unfortunately, as a human-being she falls short of common sense and decency.
Its not what you say, but how you say it. She is way to full of herself. I am
a fellow democrat who is sick and tired
of her outlandish opinions.

Surprise, surprise, Ms. Streisand doesn’t like a republican. I can’t figure out what the “news” aspect of that is. It certainly isn’t new.

We are in America and we can say anything we want (as can Barbara) but I do not agree with Barbara. I think Sarah Palin has accomplished alot. It is not as easy for a woman. I respect Hillary too. Can people remember we are ALL Americans and all should want to make things better for all of us. We are in a bit of trouble right now and if we reach across the aisle and unite and stop putting out all this negative talk and start letting people know what we need done for each of usthat would be positive and worthwhile. This goes for Barbara also, if she really wants things to be better for American’s let’s put out some suggestions to both parties to help all of us in the U.S.
Please Barbara and others let’s get with the positive talk and stop wasting time on the garbage gossip talk.
Barbara, you are in a hollywood powerful position talk about what both parties can do to help people. Not just democrats, everyone in the U.S.
Nobody likes to hear garbage talk, only God knows all of us through and through. You probably would not want your gay son judged, then don’t go judging anyone else. Are you so perfect or godlike that you can go judging others? No, none of us are. Let’s concentrate on the issues each candidate can concentrate on that will bring unity and a better place to live.
I am tired of reading all this garbage but don’t hear enough about ideas to help the country as a whole!

Whether Palin is a woman or not - she is qualified. She has held government offices and have proven herself. For people backing Obama because he is “black” they should be ashamed of themselves. He has not had any govt.office or any type of experience to allow us to want him to be our President. I believe we should vote for our President/Vice President not because they are Black or because they are a Woman - but because they are qualified.

Barbra has every right under our Constitution to voice her opinion. I happen to agree with her. I think McCain’s “choice” is an attempt to grab the young women’s vote.He figures he probably has the senior crowd locked up.He is just the same old Carl Rove school of politics. He will only be an extension of Bush. No one heard of Palin before this and I fail to see where she could say she has enough experience to be President. I also agree that McCain changed his slogan and message after he brought Palin aboard. Before, he was all about the war,and military. Why did it take him so long to see the economic problems needed to be addressed? Far too long have people in power tried to play” out of sight….out of mind” while all of us are paying the price. Obama has his eyes open and sees what needs to be done.I would much rather have Bieden dealing with another country than Palin too.

I AM HAPPY TO SEE BY THIS POLL, AT PRESENT, THAT WE HAVE SO MANY ASTUTE
INDIVIDUALS THAT STREISAND DISGUSTS.
HER LOOKS (UGLY) WOULD NOT BE ATTACKED
IF HER DISPOSITION WERE NOT THE SAME.
STAY OUT OF POLITICS SHE HAS NO CLUE
AS TO WHAT IT TAKES TO RUN THIS COUNTRY

I hope everyone will do research and not vote because Sarah is a woman or Obama is Black. We should vote vote the best person. In my mind that is Obama. I have done my research.

Hey Babs, why don’t you keep you big nose out of politics. You think just because you are rich you are smarter than us “working folk” and you need to educate us. Why don’t you take all that money and all that spare time and invest it in doing some good for needy children or lonely elderly. And as far as Sara Palin is concerned, it cracks me up that the liberals are the ones most worked up about the fact that she is a mom and her daughter is pregnant. Talk about your double standard! Al Gore was the father of 4 children under the age of 10 when he became VP and no one said a word about how his job would take him away from his family. Unbelievable.

perhaps more disturbing is that Stresiand is hosting a 28k per person fundraiser. Obviously the Democrtaic believes that the presidency is the best job money can buy. One would like to believe that whoever gets elected recognizes that we live in a republic and one also hopes elected officials would remember what the word constituency means. (Of course, we still have the electoral college, which perpetuates that the “founding fathers” belief that the average voter in America did not- and still does not-know how to vote. ( that’s not to mention some of the political descendants of the founding fathers are some “mothers”!!! I would hope that voters vote with their minds and not with their emotions. There are no “feel good” solutions to problems…As to my personal opinion…. I have no interest or use for any planks of a politcal platform based in religiosity. Belief in a deity has little, if anything, to do with “people created religions” and is even more remotely removed from establishing a form of government based on human morality and rights. Regardless, however, of my own opinions or anyone else’s- we are all entitled to formulate are own and to use those opinions to exercise our priviliege to cast a vote for whomever we choose. Apathy in voting undermines ourselves and our country.

Cannnot believe the hatred the left has for Christians. They could very easily call them fundamentalist Christians, and refuse to admit that we are at war with radical fundamentalist Islam. They are more sensitive to the Muslims than they are to the Christians. It seems like Senator McCain did make the right choice after all. The opposition and attacks against his choice has said more about Oboma’s platform than Obama has. These liberals seem to hate everyone who do not hold their views. So much for unity!

We need a president with an eye to the future. I am 61 and I do not want to take the chance to be governed by McCain let alone a person like Palin that steps on people on her way to the top. Ask the people in her town, they are afraid to speak out aqainst her lest they or their families lose their job. I hear she squashes anyone who gets in her way or disagrees with her. Whether this is a rumor or not, you cant dispell the facts that she put her town in huge debt in order to build the hockey rink that she wanted. If Obama doesnt get into the White House..then you cannot imagine the misery that McCain will put us thru.,he is not in touch with middle class people..he has not been there..yes he was a POW and I am sorry about that, but being a POW dores not mean that you understand how difficult it is do stretch a paycheck..Other people have been POWS and they dont go on and on about it. that is the past..this is the future…He or George do not know how it is to fill their gas tank and wonder how much they will have left for school lunches…I have seen alot of economic times in my life and this is the worst I have ever seen…it seems that it cannot be true but it is. Something has got to be done…if McCain was going to something about it he would have by now. He thnks that we are fairly economically sound…what grocery store is he going to? what gas station is he filling up at? How is his healthcare?, oh I forgot he is already drawing his Social Security, you can be sure he and Cindy are not trying to live on it… as for Palin you can be sure McCains campaign has an agenda with her…no one has ever heard of her,,,McCain looked at her at the convention like it was an arranged marriage,,,body language doesnt lie. this was done for John..

Yes,Barbara is correct, McCain and the Republican Party is”desperate and irresponsible.” by picking Sarah Palin who has no experience with WORLD Issues,& Foreign Leaders who in most instances maintain a differnt view towards women.Sarah Palin should pray about why she was picked to be the BULLDOG for McCain. Obama begin his run with the idea of CHANGE, not McCain who is now attempting to deceive the American public by using the word change..Elizabeth Hasselback of the VIEW is obviously on the Republican Payroll

Barbara S. a Hollywood role model? I don’t think so! Sarah Palin is an excellent example, as is John McCain, for our children. This is an excellent team. I guess our B.S. can afford sponsoring a $28,000 per plate dinner for Obama….this is Hollywood….yes,
Barbara, prayer is our lifeline for all
of you. God does listen and answers in His own way. How rude you are! You need to be more like Sarah Palin…we
share so much as human beings with problems to lift up to God for answers
and guidance. I wonder what could be
found if a reporter were to start digging in your past? Being a V.P. will
be perfect for Palin, and she will prove
to be exactly what we want and need. Sen. McCain is a hero…not only a war
hero, but a hero to lift us out of all
the problems our country faces. It is time for a change…a time for McCain and Palin to be our leaders in Washington. Listen, listen to his platform. Enjoy your dinner my friend..
a hamburger with McCain and Palin is my
idea of enjoying fellowship and hearing
their common sense plan for U.S.A.

Why do the singers and actors think we really care who they support?
Barbara was backing Hilary were they not hoping to sway all women (whatever the party) to vote for her.
I just wished all the celebs that a say they will leave the country when their candidate doesn’t get elected would do just that.
