Fey Returns to 'SNL' for Palin Spoof

0915fey.jpg

Viewers tuning in for the premiere of "Saturday Night Live" were welcomed by Gov. Sarah Palin herself... portrayed by celeb lookalike and comedy queen Tina Fey, who along with Amy Poehler as Hillary Clinton, stole the whole show with their hilarious opening sketch.

As an entertainer, host Michael Phelps proved himself to be a great swimmer. Poehler's Hillary Clinton was a seething, podium-breaking riot, and she and Fey created what will undoubtedly become a classic sketch from the long-running show.

Extratv.com reported Friday that Fey was expected to appear as the GOP VP candidate. The "30 Rock" star had the in-studio audience cracking up the minute she spoke -- using Palin's distinctive northern twang to lampoon the wannabe VP.

Saturday's episode was the most watched "SNL" since December 17, 2002, when former VP Al Gore hosted, and Phish performed as the musical guest.

Who rejects gun control and shoots from the hip without “blinking?” And without thinking?

Is it George Bush? Is it Sarah Palin?

“In your heart…” you know she’s Bush.

I think that every one that is trying to destroy Sarah Palin needs a life.If it were a man that was juggling kids home and job every one would be patting him on the back. what happened to Bidens kids when he was going to Washington every day & leaving them every day. Every one felt sorry for him this society has a wicked sense of humor destroying people is the game

Tina Fey’s impression of Palin was dead on! I couldn’t stop laughing while watching it. RM, you need to relax, it was just a skit, my gosh….
Just like someone else wrote they made fun of Obama already, don’t assume because you haven’t seen it, that it hasn’t been done.

It was a killer opening skit. The ladies nailed it. I hope they can keep up that level of humor throughout the campaign season. RM, don’t you remember how they skewered Clinton, Gore, and Kerry? SNL doesn’t leave out anyone.

RM,

You must have missed SNL last year when they made fun of the media’s messiah complex with Obama? Yes, I agree that they have a left-wing slant, but they have made fun of Obama as well.

The skit was a riot. Fey really nailed Palin from the crazy updo to the Kawasaki glasses to the dead-on accent. “I can see Russia from my house” should be put on t-shirts.

Once again, the liberal SNLs takes ungrounded pot-shots at the Republican party. I’d like to once see them do a bit poking fun at Obamas lack of experience, or Bidon’s disaproval of his presidential running mate, or of the lack of platform that the Democrats stand on. There wouldn’t be enough time or enough talent on the show to accurately portray it.

Tina Fey is so funny and believable. She really should be the first lady.
