Share Your Memories of Paul Newman

0927paul.jpg

Actor Paul Newman passed away yesterday at age 83 -- and the star's daughters released a statement about the memories of their father -- and "Extra" wants you to share the same.

"Paul Newman played many unforgettable roles. But the ones for which he was proudest never had top billing on the marquee -- devoted husband, loving father, adoring grandfather, dedicated philanthropist," the girls wrote. "Our father was a rare symbol of selfless humility, the last to acknowledge what he was doing was special. Intensely private, he quietly succeeded beyond measure in impacting the lives of so many with his generosity.

The statement reads, "He will be profoundly missed by those whose lives he touched, but he leaves us with extraordinary inspiration to draw upon."

A man like Paul Newman comes along once in a lifetime. He was so unique in every aspect of his life, especially the way he treated his fellow man. He is a perfect role model for the younger generation and for all of us when we realize that fame, fortune, power, and prestige never went to his head. He shall be sorely missed. My condolences to his beautiful wife, a gem herself, and his family.

The ending scene of “Cat on a Hot Tin Roof” with Elizabeth Taylor. He calls her up the stairs and you know they are about to get it on and Elizabeth sprints up those stairs. I would sprint.
He was a gift to us and he made the world a better place.

An Earth God has Returned to Paradise
Thank you Mr. Paul Newman for showing us how to live on this planet, a beacon for humanity’s purpose. So grateful you stayed with us for 83 years, sharing your grace, talent, compassion, beauty, vigor, vitality, and love. Selfishly would say come back to the game soon, but you deserve to linger in Paradise as long as you wish. My best movies Paris Blues where he met his wife,Joanne, and Verdict.
Paul Newman has not left the building, he is with us forever. Timeless. Bye for now. BK

I read that Paul was ashamed of the movie the Silver Chalice. I agree that it was not a great movie but I didn’t care. I used to watch it with the sound turned down just to look at him and those beautiful blue eyes. The day did come when he was one of our greatest actors and I will miss him. My heart goes out to Joan and his children.

A man to be respected in every way. After a crash involving Gene Felton in 1984 his reflection was that of a fellow race car driver of the best ilk. I met him a few times after and his respect for all of us as workers of the race track is memorable. As such he just wanted to be left alone in his arena and we honored same.
