Palin Defends Qualifications

0912sarah.jpg

Republican VP nominee Gov. Sarah Palin gave her first televised interview since being named to run with John McCain, and defended her lack of national security experience, insisting she's the woman for the job.

"It is about reform of government and it's about putting government back on the side of the people, and that has much to do with foreign policy and national security issues," she told ABC's Charlie Gibson when quizzed on her lack of foreign policy experience.

She acknowledged she had never met a head of state, but said, "If you go back in history and if you ask that question of many vice presidents, they may have the same answer that I just gave you."

Palin, 44, was a surprise pick in the race to the White House. Since the announcement, she's been under the microscope for her lack of experience, though she insisted she's "ready" for the White House.

Yesterday, Palin was present as her 19-year-old son Track was sent to Iraq. He is expected to arrive in the next several weeks.

Democratic VP pick Joe Biden's son Beau, 39, is also headed for Iraq as a military lawyer.

NEXT: High Priest of High Heels to Appear!

Obama is calling ACORN a “distraction”. Obama is calling Bill Ayers a “distraction”. For me, the TRUE distraction is when Barack Obama is cornered with questions about his past, and past acquaintences, he quickly turns to the issues at hand (economy, taxes, 8-more years of Bush) INSTEAD of giving any solid answers? He dances everytime! He smiles really big, just like his VP Candidate Mr. Biden, and LOOKS DOWN? To me, I read that as ‘something to hide’… and only causes distrust! Why is it seemingly not important to the media to know about this mans HISTORY?? Why is it dismissed as John McCain coming accross as “angry”? Obama is a smooth and talented speaker,.. he is a lawyer after all. He definately knows how to “inspire” and has that “charisma” that people just get lost in. What people are actually lost in is his WORDS. “Just Words”. A lot of us are still asking ourselves some very basic questions. Who is this guy, I never heard of him even a year ago? How do you spend 20 years in an anti-white anti-american church and conveniently dis-associate and disagree with the preacher whom has preached his message so long (rev. Wright)? How do you conveniently become a “past friend” of a known Terrorist (Bill Ayers)? How exactly do you become qualified, and remotely deserve to be President after only THREE years in the Senate, and having never served in the U.S. Military? If you’re like me, you’re STILL waiting for some straight answers from Barack Huesein Obama on such questions, and here we are only TWO weeks from electing a President. One thing I certainly know? That I not for even ONE MOMENT question the Patriotic Spirit of one John Sidney McCain.

The accomplishments of Sarah Palin and the experience of John McCain more than speek for themselves. I don’t recall hearing much about Obama’s accomlishments or qualifications at all!!! I would rather follow an experienced man into battle than a fool wearing blinders.

The topic here was the candidate’s qualifications for the job. I don’t watch tv day and night but I have heard a bit more about Palin’s qualifications that I have about Obama….and Soccer mom or Soccer Dad…..it shouldn’t matter. Palin’s accomplishments really do speak for themselves. And comparing our choices….She and Mccain have my vote. I really don’t think that Obama is really qualified to control the war at hand…he has NO experience personally on the subject. Senator doesn’t compare to Governor. I would place my trust in a Senior leader with years of experience rather than a plain Rookie Any day!!! The condition of our country didn’t happen just yesterday…and we need to stop acting like it has. Nobody is going to fix this mess with some magic wand. The choices were made from both sides of the table to put us where we are today. I believe when we put all the Personal criticizing aside and focus on the real issues…we will be stuck in this rut for many more years than any of us really would like to endure. God Bless our Home. May we keep it free and contiinue to protect it from all the external influences that have helped to prepetuate the many issues we face today as a notion.

I think that Palin is a distraction to keep us away from the issues. The issue is that Mccain doesn’t care about the people he only cares about himself and the party he represents.Palin doesn’t know anything about middle class families I think the women who are voting should take that into considerations and not just vote for her because she is a women because at the end of the day Mccain is still at the head of the ticket. He is the one who would leading us into a depression not Palin and it is he who will be making the decisions. The Republican Party do not have a legitimate agenda if they go to office. So my fellow americas I plead with you to make the right decisions based on the issues and not gender or race.

When did Extra and the other Entertainment shows become political shows?
Is it because all their Hollywood subjects HATE republicans so
lets trash Palin and get on their good side.
Charlie Gibson came across as a smug condensing school teacher.
I like Sarah she took on the corruption in her own party. Obama worked with the corrupt chicago politicans and did nothing to clean it up. I hope if he wins he does CHANGE and take on corruption in his own party.

Every 4 years Karl Rove comes up with some basic but guaranteed to work slime that has the unitelligent totally suckered-
This year its the “Sarah Palin is every working class woman” ploy! Only the republicans & with a straight face too, can sell you a marginally educated, former beauty queen as a credible, qualified option for the presidency of a super power on the verge of implosion!

Their target? The propaganda fed, low-level information voter that continue to send this amazing country to hell courtesy of the sham presidents they continue to help elect-
Every 4 years, Karl Rove feeds their stupidity and shallow psuedo christianity with these manufactured tried and tested bait for the unintelligent , the racist and the seriously paranoid; and every time, without fail, they fall for it!
They continue to vote against their best interests as evidenced by the last 8 years-
In a world where other countries are now rapidly outpacing us technologically, economically and in every progress marker, we continue to borrow money from China to pay 10 billion dollars a month for 2 wars, with a few more in the pipeline;
And yet these Sean Hannity/Rush Limbaugh goons still think they can somehow pull this off with the spiteful, hatefilled, divide and conquer rhetoric and America won’t seriously suffer for it…?!

Yeah…U.S.A!! U.S.A…Now totally owned by China, and with balls firmly gripped!

The world is no longer in awe of us; we’ve become the laughing stock where we were once respected…
This election will be a referendum on the ignorance & stupidity of the American people…
And in the end this country and it’s electorate (yes, including the hate-filled, spiteful, mean spirited ones like you republican trolls) will get exactly the president they deserve…you can bet on it!!

The Americans are looking at the fact that if something happen to Mclain (if he become president), that Palin is next in line. Is she ready? Can she handle certain things that will come her way. Think about yourself. You are putting your life in a scoccer mom hands. Get to know what she about. Your life is at stake.

Why was Obama never scrutinized for his lack of experience? He was always accepted as the next best thing and never questioned.

They need to lay off Palin’s family, too.

Gail: LOVED your post, and share many of your feelings. I have one NAGGING QUESTION, however, about this article. WHY are they NOT scrutinizing and putting under their BS ‘microscope’, the person running for PRESIDENT?? If the interrogation had always been this thorough for pres. hopefuls in the past, we undoubtedly would be in better shape than we are today. It’s pitiful and so desperate what they’re ‘trying’ to do w/ Palin. I don’t know if it’s sexist, anti-republican, legitimate concern, or just plain bitter grapes!!Meanwhile, b.o. is rehearsing for SNL, whining about McCain’s lack of computer-savvy (why, does he want to send McCain an e-mail, or the latest video of cute cats from youtube??), and still pushing himself on us like he’s been nominated for an Emmy. Exactly WHEN and HOW is HE getting all HIS experience to actually RUN the country as FIRST, not second in command?(Wasn’t he only sen. for some MONTHS prior to going on the campaign trail? This doesn’t frighten people?)

You know what I dislike about your show? You treat movie, tv, talk hosts like special people. They are most ACTORS SUCH AS YOU. Being pretty and talking well, knowing how to ACT doesn’t mean you are informed, educated or have any common sense about you. You know my dad who is an electrical engineer and was secretary for the State he was in was flying to a meeting in Chicago and was waiting in the terminal when a POLLSTER came up and asked if he could ask my dad about the current election (this was a few years ago). They asked his name. Then they asked where he was from and as soon as he said “Oklahoma” they said, OH WE DON’T WANT TO TALK TO ANYONE FROM A SOUTHERN STATE” ie “not the Bible Belt, not the land of the conservative”.If it is a poll it should include anyone” I am 57 years old and have NEVER been called for my opinion. I am an educated woman, involed in a proud historical society and I have served in city government. So why? Because of where I live. Well don’t count us out we have something on our side more powerful than money, face or popularity. What Matt, what’s his name, said on your show yesterday… September 11, 2008 showed how biased and ignorant he is and as for that other guy, sorry I can’t recall his name, HE IS THE KIND OF PEOPLE WE WANT TO MOVE OUT OF AMERICA. THE SOONER THE BETTER. How dumb can you be? Do you really think having a pretty face qualifies you to have an opinion. Oh, yes being pretty does not disallow your opinion either but you have to have more than that! Like expereince, guts and intelligence to go through the mean spirit of the liberal press just because you love your country. Only informed, intelligent people who can think for themselves have the right to an opinion. I hope everyone realize that you choose who you will air by what they say choose to leave the others out who don’t speak the message you want. Isn’t this America? You’re the first body that yell first amendment rights, but you can get around it by recording the people you talk to and then selecting what you air. What hypocriates. I realize there are actors with other opinions but they seem to be BLACK BALLED. Wow! Did I just say that? That’s a liberal word isn’t it? We are the ones who “black ball people”. huh? Just don’t call yourselves NEWS. extra is no more than an old fashion YELLOW SHEET. Oh, yes for clarification, I don’t watch EXTRA. I was surfing the channels and caught his tirade. Most Americans are not influenced by “movie stars” and those that are don’t think for themselves. Shame on you for being so one sided. But since you are a show created to follow only stars maybe you have no choice right? OF COURSE YOU HAVE A CHOICE. That poor girl trying to get in the elevator. It’s a wonder some photo guy didn’t hurt her physically. But who cares… it’s all about the money right? Getting the story. I hope she was able to get every name and sues their company or them until they can never ever work again in that field. I have never seen a year like this one. We have said that so many times, but this time you liberals are so afraid you are going for the throat. I would love to put YOU under a microscope. Think about that? You may not be running for office but you are trying to affect the way people think and you are doing it with millions of dollars behind you and the so called “fairness of the press?” What a joke!!!! Fact or Rumor??? It isn’t fair. FACT!
