Red Carpet Makeup Tips from the Emmys

The stars who graced the red carpet at this year's Emmys got some extra-special beauty attention from Napoleon Perdis, Australia's premiere makeup artist. Napoleon is all about a beautiful matte complexion, with lots of lashes, contoured cheeks and a pretty, lacquered lip. Here's how to go from "red carpet to reality" with Napoleon's Hollywood bombshell tricks of the trade.
Napoleon says, "Not to prime is a crime."
Try his Auto Pilot Pre-Foundation Primer, a perfect base for a flawless complexion.

Napoleon says, "You need complexion perfection."
Try the Camera finish: It's a 3-in-1 silk finish powder compact that conceals, covers and sets. (Debra Messing and Jeremy Piven both used this at the Emmys right before they went in front of the cameras.)

Napoleon says, "You communicate through the eyes."
You'll need his Long Black Mascara: The Angled Wand lets you coat every lash from root to tip with professional ease. Napoleon believes in applying mascara first -- so you can see where your eyes are going, and that will help lead the rest of your look.

Napoleon says, "Lips make a statement."
Try his Lip Lacquer: With "chandelier shine," it's an energy drink for the lips, with avocado, jojoba and the exotic Hawaiian Kukui nut.

As the night wears on and you need to perk up your face, intensify blush, retouch with powder, reapply lip lacquer and do another quick coat of mascara.
