Penn Badgley: '90210' Stars Should 'Eat a Cheeseburger'

"Gossip Girl" star Penn Badgley wants the skinny stars of "90210" to plump up -- and he knows just how. "I hope they eat a double cheeseburger or something," he told PopEater.com, as reported by Us Weekly.

Starlets Jessica Stroup, 21, and Shenae Grimes, 18, have come under fire for their waiflike frames -- and with Stroup reportedly at 100 pounds and Grimes at a measly 90, castmates are reportedly worried.

"They just don't eat, and the hours of that show are going to get to them if they don't get healthy," a source told Us Weekly.

As for Badgley's own "Gossip Girl" cast? He thinks it's "healthy" that the girls -- Leighton Meester and Blake Lively -- "aren't bone-thin."

I was a fan of the original 90210 and I wasnt about to miss the first episode of the remake. I was very disappointed!
I made my husband watch it with me and he was actually the first one to point out how skinny the girls were. So real man do not find it attractive to see your bones. I am a healthy mom of 2 boys and Im 5”7 and 125 pounds, thats a size 6 for real woman.

based on what I saw on Extra they seem too thin especially with their cloths sizing from 00-2! Not a good rolemodel for teens watching!

I was an avid fan of 90210 the first time around. I do not recall that any of the girls were as bony and sickly looking as these kids now look. Shannon Doherty should shut up. She’s never been a poster child for functionality. It’s one thing to be “thin”, but another issue entirely to be bony. Bony is not sexy and it sends a very scary message to the young girls out there who already have massive self-esteem and self-worth issues and peer pressure beyond understanding, but to have them want to emulate these stick figures (with cute faces) is simply not sending the right message. I don’t want to see them pork out, but 90 pounds??? Seriously!! Do dudes really want to see a skeleton? Is that sexy these days? Have a smoothie. Eat a hamburger once in a while. Better yet, follow the American Heart Association diet and you’ll not only be beautiful - but you will be healthy as well!!!!

The young gals on 90210 really have to watch it, remember that the tv adds weight to you so if they are this thin with the camera on them they must look
much thinner in person. Like a head on a stick, it isn’t appealing and later in life they may or maynot have damaged their insides. They both looked great in the beginning of the season why in the world would they want to be this thin?
Shannon D saying they have great bodies .WHERE? Eat gals you are making it difficult for alot of teens than may have more padding like having a weight of 115-120 lbs so get advice how to gain it back and good luck

I don’t watch 90210, so I don’t really know of these girls, but I can tell just by looking at pictures of them that they are limiting their food intake. I’ve been a dancer almost all my life…and I too have gotten very skinny (i.e., messed with my weight). Ladies, yes, y’all look really good right now, but BE CAREFUL. You REALLY mess with your metabolism when you limit your food intake. Expect to gain some pounds when you start to eat (normally) again. Messing with your weight can be a vicious cycle…just be smart. You have to live with your body for the rest of your life.
