Palin's First Dude Subpoenaed in Troopergate

John McCain's VP pick Sarah Palin has generated serious buzz and weathered some stories since her nomination -- and now, the Alaska governor has to deal with her husband Todd being subpoenaed to talk in the scandal known as Troopergate.

According to the Anchorage Daily News, Alaska state lawmakers have decided to force Todd to testify about charges that Palin abused her power as governor by firing state director of public safety, Walt Monegan, who claims he was let go because he refused to fire state trooper Mike Wooten -- who had a nasty divorce from the would-be VP's sister -- and received nasty texts from Sarah and Todd for Wooten sticking around.

Palin has vehemently denied the allegations, insisting Monegan was fired due to a dispute over budget priorities.

McCain's camp has issued a statement about the scandal, which blames the Dems for running a "smear" campaign. "I'm disappointed by the complete hijacking of what should be a fair and objective process," the GOP camp said.

Freedom of speach? This has nothing to do with freedom of expression. It has to do with false advertising. If “What’s happening with the stars” is what you’re telling me I’m going to hear about - then stick to it! Movies, music and TV. If you’re confused - read.

As far as I am concerned anything that has to do with the entertainment industry regarding politics needs to be taken with a grain of salt weather it is shows or actor or actress, for example Matt Damon, stating why he would not want Sarah Palin in office, because he did not know anything about her, well if he is as educated as everyone thinks then why the heck did he not go and learn about her, become more educated learning from the t.v or another who is biased about someone is not accurate or responsible was to gain an education. The information the media is providing is proof of that. go out and read get on the internet look at the things they have done, read up on their policies where they stand on issues. Stop taking everything so seriously on the t.v its media junk! they are biased and you will not receive accurate information, since when did people start getting their education on t.v, started listening to what Hollywood told them to do, if this is what people are going to degrade themselves to then we might as well let Hollywood run the white house. How much experience’s do they have what are their qualifications, think about it people!

what ever happen to freedom of speech? why is that every other show in the world can report politics and Extra can’t? Come on people lets be realistic, some of us would like to know everything about the Palin’s if they wanted to keep their lives a secret, she should have stayed out of politics.

I totally agree. I thought this show was about entertainment news. These accusations of the Palins are not entertaining. For those who don’t know and simply assume she unjustly fired Mike Wooten, here are the facts ——- He used a Taser gun on his 10-year-old stepson (child abuse) and was caught drinking beer while operating a state trooper vehicle (DUI). Now - if your job was to protect and serve and you were caught doing that - do you think they’d keep you on staff?? A little common sense people!

Stick to ENTERTAINMENT, Extra!! We don’t want your biased involvement in politics. If you want to be fair, why don’t you run a story on Hussein Obama’s lack of birth certificate to prove his US citizenship, and his own admission to his muslim faith!

Why doesn’t Extra tell everyone what state trooper Mike Wooten is accused of.
The smearing of the Palins by the Hollywood media continues.
What movies have these people been in to be highlighted on EXTRA TV.
