Palin Confirms Daughter's Pregnancy

0829mccainpalin.jpg

Veep hopeful Sarah Palin has announced that her 17-year-old daughter Bristol is five months pregnant.

Palin released a statement confirming Bristol is planning on keeping her baby and tying the knot with the child's father. "Our beautiful daughter Bristol came to us with news that as parents we knew would make her grow up faster than we had ever planned," stated Palin. "As Bristol faces the responsibilities of adulthood, she knows she has our unconditional love and support."

The camp of GOP hopeful John McCain stated that they were aware of Palin's daughter's pregnancy, and that it didn't affect McCain's decision to have the Alaska governor as his running mate.

This is private and it had nothing to do with the campaign or the fact that McCain chose her for Vice President. I think that McCain made a great choice because it’s time that this country is dominated by women but that didn’t happen so the next chair in line is VP

This is a private family matter, and has nothing to do with the campaign, or her ability to be VP - even Mr. Obama was angry about the inclusion of this into the arena, and believes that family is off-limits. The liberals love making mts. out of molehills, unless it’s someone who shares their philosophies - then it’s I’m OK, you’re OK!

This is a private family matter. We all should respect that family at this time.
With that being said I know as a Mom unfortunately we are judged as parents, that is real world too. I have a concern for that fact that Palin only stayed out of work for 3 days with having a Down Syndrome baby at home. That tells me she might have not wanted to deal with the high stress of caring for the baby? I mean most parents would stay home longer in that case. I was a young mom too, so I now the pressure this will bring to her daughter, she will need her mom now more then ever. I am not sure that Palin can juggle such an important role without failing her family, or her country. I wish the family the best, and you are in my prayers.

I can’t believe this is happening.Putting the young daughter in spot light. Why don’t the daughter have birth control. She’s so young. She should have been starting college & heading to the future or something.BIG MISTAKE!!

rose, beth, jesse - what are you, Palin experts already? I certainly hope you don’t have young daughters, because, it can happen EVEN to YOU. Everyone knows parenting is the most difficult ‘crap shoot’ there is. I suggest you zip your pie-holes, stop trying to make this about republican morals, or bad mothering, or wrong VP choices - all to make yourselves feel better (rev up those bitter grapes!)Look at all the liberals in H’wood who endorse obie. You can’t swing a dead cat w/o hitting an unmarried parent, who goes from one relationship to another. It matters not that they’re so-called ‘adults’, either, because they behave like teens. At least, Palin’s daughter IS a teen, and at least she’s getting married - that’s to be admired. I’d so much rather that, than this whole babymama, babydaddy, 4 kids, 4 fathers, all nowhere to be seen or incarcerated, while WE foot the bill.Yet THIS is shady to you? You’re probably the same people who thought it was not our business if clinton cheated on his wife, and on this country - ironic, isn’t it? Get over yourselves.

I wish you people would stop making a mountain out of a mole hill. It happens. Do you really think she wanted everyone to know. No.. She is in the spot light. Thats life. But I among others like her. One of the things She wants to do is extend the pipe lines of gas and oil from Alaska to us. I think that’s great. At least she wants to get the ball rolling and why shouldn’t McCain pick her. I’d rather have her and McCain then Obama the preacher and a lot of us do not want Obama’s socialism ideas put into action.

Hockey mom my foot!! IT’S A WELL KNOWN FACT THAT SHE AND HER HUSBAND “FARM HER CHILDREN OUT”, TO RELATIVES. An ordinary woman wouldn’t THROW HER UNWED PREGNANT DAUGHTER UNDER THE BUS, JUST TO REMOVE GOSSIP. IT MUST BE HARD ENOUGH FOR THE GIRL WITHOUT SUCH A SELFISH MOTHER USING HER CONDITION.
SHOWS BAD JUDGMENT ON SARAH PART. TO RUN FOR SUCH A HIGH PROFILE OFFICE IS HER RIGHT, BUT SHOW A LITTLE COMMON SENSE THE MEDIA IS GOING TO FIND OUT EVERYTHING. WHY NOT SUPPORT YOUR KIDS FOR A MINUTE. AND GOING BACK TO WORK 3 DAYS AFTER GIVING BIRTH IS NOT A GOOD THING. ALL SHE’S TEACHING HER KIDS IS I DON’T HAVE TIME FOR YOU, WHY BE SURPRISED WHEN THEY GO LOOKING FOR LOVE ELSEWHERE

As a mom, the more I think about it, the madder this makes me. Why on freakin’ earth did Sarah Palin accept the nomination and put her family in the national spotlight if she knew about this? To me, that’s child abuse - to make your child be the center of national attention at a time like this. I don’t condemn Sarah or her daughter for the pregnancy - just for putting ambition before motherhood. You can spout all the family values in the world - but returning to work 3 days after having a baby is NOTHING to be proud of. Putting your child in the national spotlight when she’s obviously pregnant and making her the center of speculation - that’s just totally WRONG. And now the daughter MUST MARRY the father.

Ummm hum…. to busy trying to get your brother inlaw fired, should have been guiding your daughter. I know it happens, but you Mrs. Palin are a role model? You say you stand for this, and that. What else will we find out?
This is like Jamie Lynn Spears ya’ll.
Perfect timing too we see, when Gustav is capturing the media’s atttention. The one good thing is she is keeping the baby, and getting married. But wow. Shady, shady… I bet we will see a lot more to follow.

So much for family values. In the South where teen pregnancy is high and abstinence is just a slogan, this just proves that bad political policies just don’t work at any level or for either party. Forcing a marriage between two young people that could not wait to make better choices will not make the situation better. We all know that time spent listening as well as talking with our children is important. It seems to much time must have been spent on the wishes of the Republican Party and ambitions of mom, rather than the everyday issues within her daughter’s life. If the Republican candidates win, to my knowledge, this will be the first time a mother and daughter will have children months apart in one of the highest political offices. This will be a great image to project to the world.
