Palin Confirms Daughter's Pregnancy

0829mccainpalin.jpg

Veep hopeful Sarah Palin has announced that her 17-year-old daughter Bristol is five months pregnant.

Palin released a statement confirming Bristol is planning on keeping her baby and tying the knot with the child's father. "Our beautiful daughter Bristol came to us with news that as parents we knew would make her grow up faster than we had ever planned," stated Palin. "As Bristol faces the responsibilities of adulthood, she knows she has our unconditional love and support."

The camp of GOP hopeful John McCain stated that they were aware of Palin's daughter's pregnancy, and that it didn't affect McCain's decision to have the Alaska governor as his running mate.

ALL THOUGH I AM A DEMOCRAT I THINK ANY MOTHER SHOULD STAND BY THEIR DAUGHTER. THIS IS SUPPOSE TO BE ABOUT WHO IS BEST TO RUN OUR COUNTRY, ABOUT BRINGING OUR TROOPS HOME FROM FIGHTING A WAR THAT IS NOT EVEN OURS. FOR BETTER HEALTH PLAINES. FOR SAVING SOCIAL SECURITY SO THERE WILL BE SOME THERE WHEN OUR CHILDREN REACH THE AGE TO RECIEVE IT. LOWER GAS PRICES NOT WHAT GOES ON IN EITHER CANIDATES HOME.

Listen, ZOSO

Michelle Obama, our first lady, sounds great to me! GO OBAMA!!! GO OBAMA!!! GO OBAMA!!!

You Mr. Obama are the change we need.

As a women I want to keep my rights.
McCain/Palin they are against row vs wade. They want it to be reversed, scary, what about women who have been raped, or incest? Women’s rights are at risk should McCain/Palin take office.

My rights as a women are of a huge concern to me.

Mrs. Palin has skeltons in her closet as well, as we all do. I know there is more to learn about what else she is hiding too. I don’t judge Obama for that,I admire he was not afraid to speak the truth, to me that speaks of his integrity. Bill Clinton tried pot… he was a great president…

NC ONE: Does this mean that you’d rather vote for an admitted former cocaine user for president, than have a VICE-president whose teen DAUGHTER is having a baby?

I think that Palin is representing America by standing by her daughter in a difficult time of need. The fact that Palin came from no political background and rose through the ranks to be the VP candidate represents the best of what this great country stands for. You don’t have to be born into politics to make a difference. We have been telling our children for generations that they can grow up to be president someday and now we have a candidate that was raised by a single mother and another candidate that is facing the same issues that many American families face everyday. This makes them both connected to the real issues that we face on a regular basis. It is about time that we have someone in the White House that knows how life really is for most of us. Leave her and her family alone. We can teach our kids all the right things but we can not be with them 24/7. They have to make decisions on their own sometimes and they are not always the right ones. The right decision for Palin was to love and support her daughter and she is doing just that. Vote based on Palin’s record in office and her experience not on whether her daughter made a proper decision or not.

Power abuse by Sarah let’s think about it. If she uses her power to fire her brother in law man she will sentence him to death if she gets the VP position. Danger!”Ummm hum…. to busy trying to get your brother inlaw fired, should have been guiding your daughter. I know it happens, but you Mrs. Palin are a role model? You say you stand for this, and that. What else will we find out?
This is like Jamie Lynn Spears ya’ll.”
Perfect timing too we see, when Gustav is capturing the media’s atttention. The one good thing is she is keeping the baby, and getting married. But wow. Shady, shady… I bet we will see a lot more to follow.

This is typical rethuglican (republican) hypocritical politics. Palin sought to use he family for political gain, citing her son having down syndrome and her decision to not abort the baby, but now it appears the son she exploited is likely not hers and she says her daughter is now pregnant. Is her daughter the mother of Trig, more likely since she was out of school held somewhere secretly for 4 to 6 of Trig’s gestation period and Sarah Palin was obviously not 7 or 8 months pregnant based on the photos she took at that time. Will the daughter now have a mysterious miscarriage if she isn’t pregnant now or is she the mother of Trig and pregnant now. John McCain did not vet this woman and did not contrary to his lies, know about the teen pregnancy now, or that rumors that the daughter is the mother of Trig. Gov Palin is a soap opera and is under investigation for different corruption issues, surely McCaid didn’t appoint someone under investigation whom he only met briefly once and did not vet her, did he? Can you be vice president after indictment?

I understand that teen pregnancy is an issue for our country, but to have it on display at the White House? This is kind of like displaying the family’s “business” for all the world to see. I believe that the people placed in position at the white house represent our country and our beliefs. I think that Palin would make a wonderful candidate, but we should be cautious of whom we select because this is a direct reflection of how other countries view us… We already have enough enemies, we need to try to repair what little relations we have and then work on building new ones. If we elect the McCain party simply because of this bold statement, other countries will be doing exactly what we are doing now, the only difference is that it may have more negative and last reactions.

There was someone who did say something along the lines of “she should have said “yes, she is my daughter and the topic is not up for debate.” I couldn’t agree more… You don’t drag your daughter into the media like this, adult or minor. I think that Palin tried to handle this the best way she knew how at the time, but I think it could’ve been a bit more tactful.

ANONYMOUS: It seems as though you may the work for McCain/Palin ticket. You spend so much time on this and other sites I see.

Americans we are losing the very thread that binds this country, the moral thread of our forefathers. This is why we look at the leaders of our country so closly. They are held to a higher standard, as they should be, they are not typical Americans, they are our leaders. Is this the message we want to send to the world? Yes, teen pregnancy happens but, it should not be accepted as the norm… that it is tolerated. We as Americans are being desensitized.

I don’t know what the big hype is about. We didn’t make a big fuss over Jamie Lynn Spears being pregnant, it shouldn’t with Bristol Palin. By the way people, in most states 17 is considered as being an adult anyways; especially if a crime has been committed. I feel although that it should be her choice to be wed and not the parents’ choice. Sure it looks good now but down the line it may cause more chaos for the young couple. The daughter may have felt she didn’t want to be in the limelight and it would be a “way” out.
We shouldn’t put all the blame on Mrs. Palins career choice, her daughter had a choice a chose the path she did. I have changed my choice as whom I will be voting for and it will be for the McCain/Palin ticket.

Honestly I can not believe there is such an uproar over this. This is AMERICA! Do you realize how many 17 year old girls get pregnant? (and younger) What is the problem? Is she too American? the fact that her family is like so many other American families dealing with the same issues (teen pregnancy) that so many others deal with? Or the fact that she was not raised with a silver spoon in her mouth and this is just OH my God the sin of all sins? Do you honestly think any of the family that goes through this all quit work to keep it hush hush? Why should she not persue her career? And for the person who called it child abuse having her daughter in the spot light, its idiots like you that make this country a BAD place! Find some common sense people! These are everyday average issues!

This could happen to anyone! I do not think that Palin was only thinking of herself when she said yes! She loves what she does..Why can’t you have a fmaily and a career? Her daughter is 17 years old and she made a choice! Isn’t that what most demo’s want, choice! As a parent you have to teach your kids values and hope and pray ythat they learn these, but if they don’t I do not think that that parents should be blamed! I am sure that every mother dreams of there kid as being successful and sometimes they end up in jail,on goverment aide. People are taking this the wrong way! Look at if from a mother and a career womens point of view! Just so everyone knows we have bigger issues to worry about then this. e should just pray for the family and move on. And if you are worried about this effecting your kids then maybe they should not be watching TV at all! You see this everyday!!!!!! Maybe you need to stop pointing fingers and take a good look at your self!

Hard to believe all the bad judgment calls that have surfaced in the days since the announcement of McCain choosing Sarah Palin. She does not seem to be the person he described. I am not loving her as he suggested “the more the more I get to know her.” I am not against her personally. She has, however, accepted the spotlight and seems to have presumed no one would check her out. I do not judge her daughter but do question her choices and that’s enough for me to say No McCain.

The fact remains: Palin’s decision to run (and yes, I do not know her motivation, although I assume ambition plays a part) has irrevocably exposed her 17-year old daughter to unwanted media scrutiny at a very private time.

If she is not motivated by ego, she is at best naive and thoughtless.

Emma, you have ABSOLUTELY NO IDEA what is going through her mind, what she’s putting, doing, exposing or whatever other verb you’re applying to a situation about which you know really nothing beyond speculation. The liberals can bleat all THEY want about ethics and judgement, which they do - ONLY if it’s a conservative or Republican. Otherwise,it’s “oh, what he does on his own time is none of our business”, or, “that doesn’t mean he can’t be a good president”,or,my favorite one, “She knew he was married”. blahblahblah…

An unbelievably selfish move on the part of Palin, to put her own political ambitions above the needs of her own daughter.

The GOP can all bleat ‘this is a private family matter!’, but the fact remains; Palin’s ethics and judgment are dubious if she is prepared to expose her family to worldwide scrutiny at this private time in order to further her own ends. The pregnancy itself is a separate issue: Palin’s decision to run ANYWAY is the problem.
