Obama vs. GOP: Lipstick-Gate!

0910palin.jpg

Barack Obama is attacking John McCain and Sarah Palin's renewed emphasis on change -- likening their words to putting "lipstick on a pig."

"You can put lipstick on a pig," he said at a rally in Virginia. "It's still a pig. You can wrap an old fish in a piece of paper called change. It's still going to stink after eight years." Whether intentional or not, Obama's "lipstick" reference drew comparisons to Palin's RNC speech, where she joked that the only difference between her and a pit bull was lipstick.

Now the McCain campaign is blasting the Illinois senator, accusing him of sexism against the first-term Governor of Alaska -- and called Obama's comments "offensive and disgraceful."

Obama's camp fired back, insisting that the "lipstick on a pig" wasn't a reference to Palin at all -- and that the GOP attack is "a pathetic attempt to play the gender card about the use of a common analogy." At a speech today in Virginia, Barack accused the GOP camp of ignoring the issues with their complaints. "I don't care what they say about me, but I love this country too much to let them take over another election with lies and phony outrage and swift boat politics. Enough is enough."

I hate it how they turn things around and try to make Obama look as if he was making fun of Palin. I just heard the expression “lipstick on a pig” on a show called Ugly Betty. The nephew used it when he had gone to a dance and it was held in the gym.He was referring to the gym. No matter what they did to the gym with decorations it was still a gym. Republicans need to do a little more research before they attack someone.

It wasn’t sexism when Hillary was running, now that is all the republicans talk about! PLEASE!!! I have heard this expression used numerous times and McCain even used it himself!! It’s so obvious that Obama is not talking about Sarah. Is he calling her a fish also? I refuse to spend another 8 years under this republican policy. Women should be very offended by McCain’s antics. For years women fought so that women could vote for what they believed in, not vote because there is a woman on the ticket. I guess McCain think that women are stupid.
OBAMA/BIDEN 08!! TIME FOR A CHANGE BABY!!

Matt is right, I am glad to see someone speak out, it is craziness… when questioned about being on the short list Palin said ” When someone expains to me what the VP acutally does, then maybe I will consider.” You can find that on you tube… enter Sarah Palin questioned about being on short list, she is serious in that interview! I know that some people just won’t vote republican, because it’s more representative of rules and regulations, and seems restrictive. Voting dem can sometimes be misinterpreted as modern, free, youthful and progressive. Please, please, PLEASE do research, and dig deep before you just vote for a party, w/o knowing about the particulars of the person running. Sometimes, if it seems too good to be true it IS, especially when the candidate is not forthcoming with his information, and gets his back up with the slightest perceived insult. Just because someone looks cool and speaks well, and says all the things you think you want to hear, does not mean it isn’t wolf in sheep’s clothing at work. There’s so much people need to know before they make a mistake that seems like a good idea at the time, but turns out badly. Sometimes it’s not evident til yrs. later - and then, someone ELSE in office gets blamed for the mess they were left.

I am really tired of the Republicans crying sexism when it comes to Sarah Palin. I am a woman and I feel that if Sarah Palin wants to stump with the Big Boys, then she has to learn how to Woman Up!

Sarah Palin: If you want to play in the big league with MEN then you need to take the heat or get out of the kitchen. I’m tired of the GOP hollaring sexism and all of that other BS. Stop being whinning JERKS!!! All politicians lie to a certain degree but Palin lied about the bridge to nowhere, lied about earmarks and has been repeating the same S&%t since she did her speach at the RNC. I’m a WOMAN and it’s a slap in the face that McCain picked a woman when the only reason he did it was to get our vote. First he(McCain) talked about Experience, Experience, experience now it’s change, change and more change. The only call Palin ever got in the middle of the night while she has been governor, was to advise her there is a moose in the street. Wake up and smell the crap McCain and Palin are shoveling and buy a CLUE!!!

I’m ashamed of John McCain and his campaign’s feeble attempt to divert from the issues by attacking Obama with this stupid commercial. It was so obvious that Obama was not referring to Palin or her comment during her acceptance speech. It makes me very afraid that if McCain is elected president, he will use this ridiculous tactic when other things don’t go his way, or to cover or deviate what is really happening in his administration. He has no respect for American voters, and I am especially sorry for the people who are so totally Republican that they can’t think for themselves and see what McCain is trying to do.

That comment was uncalled for and Sarah just ignore the person who said it because that was very ignorant of him.
See how the true colors keep coming out from him.

We love you Sarah.

I would be SO ashamed to be a Republican now. I can’t believe the underhanded, dirty, cheap twisted commercial the McCain team put out. The reference of the “lipstick on a pig” was of McCain’s policys being the same ols song we have had for the last 8 years. It was NOT in any reference to Palin. But the McCain people put a clip with a clip from Palin’s speech and made it look like an insult. COME ON!! Would any candidate be that stupid to openly insult another candidate that way? Especially a woman?? That would be political suicide. It only shows how scared McCain is and how he will step on someone and not care.
