Locklear Arrested on Suspected DUI

"Extra" has new details about the shocking arrest of actress Heather Locklear, who was taken into custody in Montecito after being suspected of driving under the influence of drugs.

Photogs snapped pix of the former "Melrose Place" star performing a breathalyzer test, then a field sobriety test, and finally being cuffed and placed in the cop car. Locklear -- who turned 47 just two days before her arrest -- was booked in Santa Barbara County after a concerned onlooker called 911 because they saw Heather driving erratically.

The witness reported Heather driving back and forth over a pair of sunglasses -- revving her engine before driving away. TMZ's Harvey Levin tells "Extra" that while Heather was arrested, she may have an unusual defense. "She was not driving that car when the officers came upon her," says Levin. "The only person who saw her was a resident in the area."

"Extra" has obtained the CHP report filed after Heather was arrested for "obvious impairment." Alcohol was ruled out as the substance allegedly impairing Heather's driving abilities, but not a controlled substance.

Locklear has been dating former "Melrose Place" flame Jack Wagner, and was reportedly flashing what looked to be an engagement ring when she was picked up by police.

It's been three months since Heather completed a stint in rehab for depression and anxiety. MomLogic.com's Dr. Shannon Fox says that questions will be raised after this arrest. "Once she gets out of treatment, it really is her responsibility to continue with her medication... and to continue with the medication exactly as it was prescribed."

I also think that Heather is not used to taking medication…she always took really good care of herself…she was not a drinker and not a drug user…so for her to put this foreign stuff into her body is going to be a huge adjustment for her.

Natalie that is an very incentive comment. I hope you never suffer from Depression, it isn’t something you can just get over! It is an imbalance in your system not like having a bad day.

I have suffered for 12 years, it runs in my family. It takes time to find the right medications and over time you may need to change over and over again.

We are pulling for you Heather, hang in there and we hope that your medications will start helping you. It will get better.

Learn to deal with life , you aren’t any different from the rest of us . Get over the part of getting older and just have fun with your child . You could be broke and living on the streets ,take a look around you , be thankful for what you have .

I wish Heather the best in her recovery…sometimes she will have setbacks…it is very normal…she has already addressed her situation and has taken measures to make herself better….by the way…she even looks beautiful on the mug shot….she will be okay…she has soul.

geez….this is kinda sad….now both parents (Richie & Heather) of Ava have their own MUG SHOTS!!!…some kind of role model, eh? well…it can happen to the best of them…nobody is perfect…celebrities not exempted….

poor heather, she has been crying
I feel sorry for her, domestic bliss alludes her, betrayal from friends.
and the unpardonable sin of growing older in hollyweird has taken its toll on her emotionally. I have anxiety myself over life! I wish she would just nix the biz a while and take real time.
