Here's one rumor that won't be revived again -- George Clooney tells "Extra" that new reports of a guest appearance on "E.R." are D.O.A. "I've never been asked or approached by anyone from the show about doing an episode of 'E.R.'," he told us today.

Clooney, 47, has been dogged by rumors that he'd reprise his role on the drama that made him a household name. In May, he battled the whispers, telling "Extra," "The truth of the matter is they wouldn't ask, and there really would be no reason for it."

Clooney left "E.R" in 2000.
