Sarah Palin's Baby Controversy

0902palin.jpg

The grandbaby bombshell is swelling around the globe -- and shaking the political world.

The would-be VP announced yesterday that her 17-year-old, unwed daughter Bristol -- pictured with her baby brother -- is expecting her first baby -- and "Extra" has learned that the baby daddy is an 18-year-old high school hockey jock named Levi Johnston. While Levi claimed on his now-deleted MySpace page that he was "in a relationship," he also stated, "I don't want kids."

Us Weekly's Jill Martin tells "Extra" that Bristol and Levi are two ordinary teenagers. "Bristol's a school spirit leader -- very social -- and Levi's into camping, fishing, and hanging out with the boys." McCain's 23-year-old daughter Meghan also blogged her support for the teen, writing, "I support Bristol and the entire Palin family."

Let me tell you, Anonymous, since you haven’t noticed. This stuff gets out anyway, ESPECIALLY if Palin hadn’t made an announcement. She WAS trying to protect her daughter from the prying eyes and ears of the lowlifes trying to ‘get some dirt’. If she hadn’t said anything, the headlines would’ve read, “What is Sarah Palin trying to hide?” This happens every day, even to the best of families. I mean, this site, (and many others like it) is a perfect example of what goes on. None of these candidates should even be mentioned in an Entertainment venue - that’s sick enough. Anyway, I don’t think her daughter’s running for VP, so the point is moot, at best. If you prefer obama, even HE says family is off limits. I wonder why the liberal media are not heeding HIS words. Interesting.

McCain/Palin really threw this poor girl under the bus. They were either extremely naive or completely selfish, first for Palin’s nomination and secondly to reveal her daughter’s condition…just to stop a rumor? It should have been Yes, he is my child and no I will not discuss my daughter. As a Mother this is what you do protect your kids. Now Bristol’s name is all over the internet being called every VILE name possible. But hey! If it gets Mom a better job..I TRULY feel sorry for this girl.
