Did Babs Play Fair with John McCain?

Barbra Streisand took her politics to the web, blasting GOP hopeful John McCain's choice of VP Sarah Palin "desperate and irresponsible" -- and accused him of pandering to female voters!

Tell "Extra" -- do you agree with Barbra's position on Palin?

NEXT: Baldwin in the 'Lymelife'

I think we should call her “Blabs”, these hollywood stars have no scruples and evidently no brains. Just looks and money, and “Blabs” has already lost her looks. They really aren’t very bright people. I think McCain made a very good intelligent choice!

Barbara can only hit the high notes of the democratic party! At least McCain and Palin listen to both sides and are not so narrow minded as the democrates who have replied to this story. Thank God we have a woman who is strong enough to stand up to what she believes in. What a role model for my granddaughters! Go Sarah!

That anyone would compare Obama to Clinton and think it’s a good thing says something very frightening about some of the people in the US! So many people blame Bush for the state of affairs in this country when it’s Clinton who helped keep terrorists like the taliban in power to further his political career. ” If he had just let us finish desert storm 9-11 never would have happened.” A quote from someone who was on the border of China with Osama B in sight when they were told to pull out because Clinton said so. I prefer the person running my country to be repectful to our men and women who have CHOSEN to fight for thier country not put them down at every turn and not knuckle under to politcal pressure. As for Palin getting the vote because she’s a woman, it didn’t help Hilary even with Babs support!

Babs should keep her comments to herself. Her fan base is shrinking, as we speak, and her opinion will only be shared by the misguided celebrity “sheep” who already think the way she does. She will not change a single intelligent person’s opinion with her “profound” spewings.

Why is it when someone who has celebrity they’re able to get coverage by national media so easily? If it keeps going the way it’s going, only actors and actresses will be in government. Oh wait, that is already happening. I think we are in trouble! We are becoming a society of smoke and mirrors.

I agree with Ms. Streisand’s comments. While I may not believe the other side has all of the answers, I was really embarrassed at Mr. McCain’s apparently desparate choice. I see that he is not too sharp witted and has ridden the “Vietnam Prisoner” story too long. It does not automatically make him Presidential material. He was 5th from the bottom in his graduating class. His answers to questions requiring thought show that he is not alert. Her answers show that she is totally not prepared. America will learn more about her shortly. I notice how they protect her from the media until they have an opportunity to “clep” her on what to say. She will prove to be a total mistake. Heaven help us because foreign leaders have no respect for him and they will hate her.

For me gender definitely trumps race. I agree with Linda that Hollywood is completely out of touch with regular folks. Sarah can relate to women’s issues. Biden has no clue.

Babes cannot relate to us normal everyday hard working folks. $28.000 a plate. How many of us could make that date.
I am voting for female as Oprah is voting for color.

As an Independent, I usually wait until I see who Hollywood endorses before casting my vote the other way. Thank you Barbara for helping me decide that the McCain-Palin ticket is the mainstream choice and most closely reflects the values of regular american women. By the way Barbara when was the last time you were relevant? 1964?

Barbra Streisand got it exactly right! She voices my same sentiments when I heard the news. First of all, who are you kidding when you talk about her ‘experience’. She has very limited government experience. And the thought that she could ascend to the presidency, God forbid something happened to that man on Day 2??!! I think it shows very poor judgement on McCain’s part and absolutely a desperate move. He thought by throwing this chick out there he could garner the women’s votes. Does he really think we are that stupid?! I really have a problem with his age. Do we really want a 72-year old, white-haired geezer running this country? Haven’t we had enough of that?? Give Obama a chance. He’s the greatest thing to come down the pike since JFK. Remember, when Clinton was in office we had the best economy and he left office with this company experiencing its first huge surplus… which Bush proceeded to totally wipe out and leave us in more debt than ever. Ask yourselves… are you better off now than you were 8 years ago? Come on now… be honest. I know I’m not. Remember, too, as far as SP goes… she will only hold that secondary role which doesn’t get much respect, and the old guy will be in charge. Unless he croaks, of course. Then, I’m leaving the country!
