Damon: Potential Palin Presidency is 'Really Scary'

0910damon.jpg

Matt Damon is no fan of GOP would-be VP Sarah Palin -- and he's being very public about it!
"I think there's a really good chance that Sarah Palin could be president -- that's the really scary thing," the Oscar winner dishes. "I don't know anything about her. In eight weeks, I don't think I'll know anything about her. I know that she was the mayor of a really small town, and she's been the governor of Alaska for less than two years. I think the pick was made for political purposes." Damon spilled that he's also worried about Palin's credentials. "It's like a really bad Disney movie. 'Oh, I'm just a hockey mom from Alaska,' and she's the president. It's absurd."

Seth MacFarlane, the man behind "Family Guy," echoed Damon's concerns about the Alaska governor -- claiming her beliefs on Sex Ed helped contributed to her daughter's unplanned pregnancy. "When you oppose contraception in general and sex education in general on principal -- you're probably going to wind up with a 17-year-old pregnant daughter."

According to OK! magazine, Palin's daughter is officially set to say "I do" to the father, Levi Johnston, who was spotted at the RNC sporting a wedding ring finger tattoo that read "Bristol."

Matt doesn’t know anything about her
but he knows she would be a terrible President and he is scared…
….why doesn’t he try and find out the facts before he trashes someone.
I have noticed all the Entertainment TV shows seem to do puff pieces on
the Obama’s and let rude snotty actors trash Palan…with no fact checks or rebuttals.

This message is to all you idots who are taking Matt Damons comments to heart. Have you heard of “Freedom of Speech”? I personally agree with him and I am a WOMAN. If you want to play in the big league with MEN then you need to take the heat or get out of the kitchen. I’m tired of the GOP hollaring sexism and all of that other BS. Stop being whinning JERKS!!! All politicians lie to a certain degree but Palin lied about the bridge to nowhere, lied about earmarks and has been repeating the same S&%t since she did her speach at the RNC. I’m a WOMAN and it’s a slap in the face that McCain picked a woman when the only reason he did was to get our vote. First he(McCain) talked about Experience, Experience, experience now it’s change, change and more change. The only call Palin ever got in the middle of the night while she has been governor, was to advise her there is a moose in the street. Wake up and smell the crap McCain and Palin are shoveling and buy a CLUE!!!

Matt!
What? Did you also laugh when Reagan ran for president? Or is easier to see someone who has a career playing make believe become president over a soccer mom with leadership and govt. experience.
Please tell me you didn’t actually make such a ridiculous statement.

First of all my young liberal actor, Palin is not running for president. Second, what should frighten you is that the Republican V.P. has more experience than the Liberal who is running for President.
Third, Palin loves her country and believes in democracy and is against corruption. Obama and his loose lipped wife seem to have views that are anything but.
Forth, Obama like many liberals in politics are smooth talkers and incredible spin artists but have you not noticed his inability to take a consistant stand on issues. He little to no experience (I believe that Hillary and Joe agree with this),
Are you telling me his lack of experience, his flip flopping, editorials (You know the evil press that has been trying to share the scoop on Obama.) on his true beliefs of which democracy is not one - doesn’t terrify you?

Now you scare me…

Fifth, the most fascinating part of Palin on the ticket is the reaction of the Liberal Press and Liberals in general.
How is it that the worlds finest spin artists have been so caught off guard and feel so threatened by (according to you and other liberals)this small time Alaskan Govenor?
Are you running scared?? :-)
Or is it that the very thought of someone who stands up to corruption, fights off special interests and corrupt politicians is your fear?

I say clean up Washington politics Every last corrupt one of them.

Go Palin.

You know Matt, we the American people, don’t give a hoot what you think about Sarah Palin, or any other political subjects. Yeah, everyone in this country has a right to their own opinion about anyone or anything, but when you have the celebrity perks of being able to go on a public television show and slam people because of your status, then that is soooooo wrong! I used to like you and your movies, but I don’t need you (and just because you are a Harvard graduate does not mean you have a lot of common sense. I am not impressed)telling me anything! I have a brain all my own. You Hollywood jerks are the ones who are totally out of touch with the real people of this country. When are you going to realize that you don’t sway us your way, you just make us want to be sure to vote for McCain/Palin? Thanks, and I won’t be watching anymore of your movies or interviews.

The comment about actors having (at best) a high school education was a general one….don’t take it personally.

Young and dumb. Keep your mouth to yourself and you won’t sound so stupid.
You may shoo away your movie goers.

Sounds like Matt rather have Obama that went to church for 20 years to listen to a preacher say that he damns America and hates white people. Obama is most likely pretending that he is staying away from that hateful preacher until after the election. Sarah has more experience in government then Obama. Obama has none. Obama is for socialism and if he got in would make it tougher on the middle class. Financially, people would suffer. Sarah has more smarts in her lttle pinky then Obama has in his whole brain. Backing Sarah Palin all the way.

Extra is about celebrities and having celebrities give their opinions in regards to political issues is more than appropriate. Just because the differ from the repubniks they think they should be censured. Typical repubnik attitude

8 is enough

I couldnt agree w/ Matt more! Im with him a 110%! I think most people have minds of their own and don’t let celebs make them up for them. Extra is about celebs so im guessing thats why they aired this..no other reason. So if you dont care for celebrity gossip or opinion..easy, DONT watch the show! Seriously people its election year, of course they’re going to aire celebrity opinions

I am also so tired of these liberal celebs. They all need to stop pushing politics and telling us who to vote for. I am really surprised at Barbera Steisands comment which I was a big fan of all of my life. More then Matts for she is a female. Unlike Oprah which she is all Obama. I will stop spending my hard earned money to see any of there films or buy there magazines or CD’s and $500 & up ticket prices for Barberas concerts. THEY ALL NEED TO STICK TO ACTING AND SINGING.

Way to go Matt I couldn’t agree with you more. Palin is a dinosaur with no experience. She was chosen to try and get women voters. Women should be outraged at this obvious trick.

It is sad to think that people in this country will listen to actors about who is best to run our country. These people can not even run their own lives, they have minimal to no morals and waste money constantly and would not be able to live on a budget like most of the people they are trying to sway with their fame.
Matt you want to do something for this country get your buddies to give up some of the huge amounts of money that you make to entertain and make it so people can afford to go to the movies again. Because they look good and can act they suddenly think they are more knowledgable and their opinions aremore valuable than the average American

People really listen to what celebrities have to say about politics and most celebrities are Democrats. You hardly ever hear them going for Republicans, which isn’t fair because all you hear and see on TV are people for Obama.

Xtra, what makes you think that intelligent people in America care one bit what Matt Damon thinks? He’s simply one of the dumbest actors out there these days.

Matt Damon should stick to acting and stop pushing his political opinions on people. It didn’t work for “P Diddy” in 2004, did it? I don’t need actors, with high school educations (at best)trying to push their political beliefs on me. Use the interview to promote your latest movie next time!!!!!

Really… stick to acting! It makes you a much more interesting person, Matt. Entertainers who feel we want or somehow need their 2 cents really are extremely annoying because, really, we don’t! Get a clue… shut up!
