Damon: Potential Palin Presidency is 'Really Scary'

0910damon.jpg

Matt Damon is no fan of GOP would-be VP Sarah Palin -- and he's being very public about it!
"I think there's a really good chance that Sarah Palin could be president -- that's the really scary thing," the Oscar winner dishes. "I don't know anything about her. In eight weeks, I don't think I'll know anything about her. I know that she was the mayor of a really small town, and she's been the governor of Alaska for less than two years. I think the pick was made for political purposes." Damon spilled that he's also worried about Palin's credentials. "It's like a really bad Disney movie. 'Oh, I'm just a hockey mom from Alaska,' and she's the president. It's absurd."

Seth MacFarlane, the man behind "Family Guy," echoed Damon's concerns about the Alaska governor -- claiming her beliefs on Sex Ed helped contributed to her daughter's unplanned pregnancy. "When you oppose contraception in general and sex education in general on principal -- you're probably going to wind up with a 17-year-old pregnant daughter."

According to OK! magazine, Palin's daughter is officially set to say "I do" to the father, Levi Johnston, who was spotted at the RNC sporting a wedding ring finger tattoo that read "Bristol."

All of the news programs are bashing Palin and praising Obama. I think the good old boys in Washington are a little afaid of the hockey mom from Alaska. They don’t want an outsider in their city. She might try and upset the apple cart!!! MCcain has the experience to run our great country Palin has what it takes to support him.

as a woman, I have to believe that McCain only picked Palin to gain political advantange for the election. He is trying to feed off of the women’s vote.

I have to agree with Matt Damon’s comment.. This is like a bad Disney movie.

America (that includes Matt Damon) is entitled to Freedom of Speech.

Matt definitely is a chauvinist! He didn’t want to marry a movie star because there was too much competition so he married a local bartender…barefoot and pregnant is the name of his game! If he wants to judge Palin on her personal life…I will judge him on his. Matt keep your nose out of politics..you are really bad at it.

I wish that you Republicans would stop blasting peoples, that speaks the Truth. Now you are attacking Damon, and obama has experience also.He was State Senator of Illinois, and did an excellent job in proveing that he was a leader, and most of all servant, and was concern for the peoples of Chicargo, that he served,so it is not going to work in trying to paint Barak Obama as unexperience, and someone who don’t have plans to act on,and to make all Americans lives much better.Hell if you put George Bush in Office, although I believe that most Americans believe that the elections were stolen, than give Barak a chance to enrich Americans lives once again. You voted for George Bush because he said that he was against abortion,I believe that most Americans is against abortion, but you must provide Women’s a better choice than having an abortion, and that meants provideing help, money, and education, and not just telling someone that you are against abortion, but are messed up in 99 other important issues that impact Americans lives, but don’t have or care to have an answer for,but you put someone in office because of that one issue from lip service, that is insane. Now you don’t want to put the right man in office to take us in the direction of change that we need, and to regain our credibility around the World, and Barak Obama is that Man to do just that.Barak knows about foreign Policies, and Barak knows how to run,and enrich the United States, and bring back Prosperity to the American Peoples, could we say that about George Bush,so in one sentence Barak has just as much experience as Palin, and maybe more in my opinion, and peoples are questioning already could she run this Country, and I believe that most Americans has no doubt in there mind that Barak Couldn’t run this Country. Are you not tried of the mess that we are in right now,and I don’t know about you,but 8 Years is 8 Years to many for me,and we need a change, thats while Barak is the right Choice,McCain agreed with George Bush 90 percent of the time,so much of a change is not possible if McCain was in office,I Honor McCain for his services to Our Country, but that is no reason to make him President,John Kerry served also, although you Republicans smeared his records, and played the cards from the bottom of the desk, like I have heard before and especially when African Americans Challenge Racism.America lets do the right thing, and elect the right Man that should be President, and that person is Barak Obama.

I can’t believe Matt Damon’s chauvinistic comment!! I think Sarah Palin has more guts as she cleaned up corruption when she served as Chairman of the Alaska Oil and Gas Conservation Commission. She’s proven that she has what it takes to improve a community, a state, and as VP…assist in improving the country. Obama and its supporters are good at putting people down and then scheme to say anything that would gain people’s vote. Obama is just full of talk…that is what he is very good at…no action.
Matt Damon, Barbara Streisand, and other Obama supporters, who continues to criticize Sarah Palin…open your eyes and clearly see how much more Sarah Palin has done in comparison to Obama. She has governed the state of Alaska, whereas Obama has not.

Damon’s comments shows he is uneducated in politics Obama, has never lead a state, has never served in the armed forces and out of his 3 years as Senator, he spent two years running for President. The only thing he has going for him is age. He has NO EXPERIENCE. That scares me more. At least Palin has experience as Governor of Alaska. McCain has proven his commitment to this country by serving in the Armed Forces and as a prison of war. Matt Damon stick to acting. Your political views are poorly formed.

Enough is enough! Our family is so sick of these “celebrites” telling us who we should vote for. They have no morals but think they know more than all of us and need to inform us and give us direction as to who we should vote for. They are so far out of touch with a lot of us. Our family has watched the last Matt Damon movie. Stick to your scripts and keep your opinions to yourself.

I find it hard to take any comment concerning the election seriously from someone that does not know what candidate is running for what office. This applies to liberals or conservatives.
Basic information don’t you think ?

Matt you are demeaning every mother in this countrey. I am 60 year old, married when I was 17, PG.I have been married to that wonderful man for 42 years. I think Sarah Palin would be a wonderful President. I think I have what it takes to make that call. NOT a spoilt bratt like you!!!!! Her children are lucky. That father/man in her life is a real keeper! He will be by her side every day!!!

I want to know who cares what Matt Damon or any other celebrity has to say about the candidates. His comment about a “soccer mom” running the country was abhorant. How about an actor running our country. Last time a checked he did a great job at it. A soccer mom is way way more in touch with our country than these celebrities living in their pampered lives.

What makes a movie star a self appointed liberal spokesperson?? They usually don’t know what they are talking about, but use their star status to say stupid things, and trash everything great about our country. What he said about Palin fits Obama more. What has this guy done that qualifies him for office. He is the one with all the baggage! I put Matt Damon with Hanoi Jane, Susan Saradon, Tim Robbins, and Streisand. They should just make movies and not show their ignorance. Where is John Wayne and Charleton Heston when you need them. Hey Matt, I have watched the last movie with you in it!!!

I was disturbed at the scathing remarks Matt Damon made about Sarah Palin, regarding her lack of experience. Hello Mr. Damon what about Mr. Bill Clinton, he was governor of Arkansas and Attorney General of that state, no one felt that he was inexperienced. And by the way if you don’t think having five kids gives you executive experience you are sorely mistaken. She has honor and character which is a rare thing in politics these days.
I am tired of all these out of touch Hollywood stars voicing their opinions like they are experts.
And just in case you didn’t notice John McCain is running for President.

Kathy (Sept 10) - I totally agree as well! I think all these actor types want to see another “actor” elected. You know…someone who has a lot of enthusiasm and charisma but little substance. Sounds like Obama, don’t you think?

KATHY (Sept 10): You said everything I wanted to, and more!! So eloquently put; I was annoyed at first reading damon’s unsolicited whine(I don’t know why - maybe the ignorance of those in lala land, which I should be used to by now), but your words speak the minds of SO MANY. It’s people like YOU that make it worth the self-professed ‘experts’ who hide behind ‘free speech’ just to hear themselves talk. Right, babs??
