Damon: Potential Palin Presidency is 'Really Scary'

0910damon.jpg

Matt Damon is no fan of GOP would-be VP Sarah Palin -- and he's being very public about it!
"I think there's a really good chance that Sarah Palin could be president -- that's the really scary thing," the Oscar winner dishes. "I don't know anything about her. In eight weeks, I don't think I'll know anything about her. I know that she was the mayor of a really small town, and she's been the governor of Alaska for less than two years. I think the pick was made for political purposes." Damon spilled that he's also worried about Palin's credentials. "It's like a really bad Disney movie. 'Oh, I'm just a hockey mom from Alaska,' and she's the president. It's absurd."

Seth MacFarlane, the man behind "Family Guy," echoed Damon's concerns about the Alaska governor -- claiming her beliefs on Sex Ed helped contributed to her daughter's unplanned pregnancy. "When you oppose contraception in general and sex education in general on principal -- you're probably going to wind up with a 17-year-old pregnant daughter."

According to OK! magazine, Palin's daughter is officially set to say "I do" to the father, Levi Johnston, who was spotted at the RNC sporting a wedding ring finger tattoo that read "Bristol."

Every 4 years Karl Rove comes up with some basic but guaranteed to work slime that has the unitelligent totally suckered-
This year its the “Sarah Palin is every working class woman” ploy! Only the republicans & with a straight face too, can sell you a marginally educated, former beauty queen as a credible, qualified option for the presidency of a super power on the verge of implosion!

Their target? The propaganda fed, low-level information voter that continue to send this amazing country to hell courtesy of the sham presidents they continue to help elect-
Every 4 years, Karl Rove feeds their stupidity and shallow psuedo christianity with these manufactured tried and tested bait for the unintelligent , the racist and the seriously paranoid; and every time, without fail, they fall for it!
They continue to vote against their best interests as evidenced by the last 8 years-
In a world where other countries are now rapidly outpacing us technologically, economically and in every progress marker, we continue to borrow money from China to pay 10 billion dollars a month for 2 wars, with a few more in the pipeline;
And yet these Sean Hannity/Rush Limbaugh goons still think they can somehow pull this off with the spiteful, hatefilled, divide and conquer rhetoric and America won’t seriously suffer for it…?!

Yeah…U.S.A!! U.S.A…Now totally owned by China, and with balls firmly gripped!

The world is no longer in awe of us; we’ve become the laughing stock where we were once respected…
This election will be a referendum on the ignorance & stupidity of the American people…
And in the end this country and it’s electorate (yes, including the hate-filled, spiteful, mean spirited ones like you republican trolls) will get exactly the president they deserve…you can bet on it!!

Go on, vote for mccain/palin just to show the rest of us!!

Celebrities have the right to they’er opinion just as all of us do. The fact that some people are upset by what Matt thinks is un-American. So what if he is in the movies! He pays taxes too. I like him more today because, he knows what he might say might not be popular, as everyone seems to be on the Palin bandwagon right now, but good for him for speaking truth.

Patti, I totally agree. What Brad Garrett said the other day was ridiculous. He was so out of line and acted like scum. These celebs need to stick to having someone else making all their decisions and wiping their butts

Greg (Sept 12): Will you marry me? Seriously, though, you’re so right. It seems that the ‘celebs’ most needy for constant attention, are the one opening their pie-holes, anyway. Sarandon, not all community organizers organize the community towards good. And comparing one to Jesus, while impossible, may be favorable to some, but not to others (I’ll refrain from detail-fill in the blank)If only these ‘stars’ would think before they speak. Or, not speak unless there’s a script in front of them. Many haven’t been near a script in awhile, I guess.

Thanks Matt people don’t like the truth sometimes, but good for you to tell it like it is. You are an American that has the same rights that reg. folks have too.

Should you have questions about if Sarah Palins ready… look to youtube,(Sarah Palin interviewed about being on the short list.)

Matt just cost him some more ticket sales!
Just like I don’t think that everyone should listen to me, why would he voicing his opinion make a difference?
he should shut up and act, oh is that what you call it?
just like George his buddy, I haven’t seen a movie he’s in since he opened his moutn!
Democrats are what they are,,,,
hey after all they have Al Freaken do’t they!

Oh, Matt Damon thinks Sarah Palin is “scary?” Too bad. Let him and Brad Garrett leave the USA when McCain and Palin are elected.

Matt: “I don’t know anything about her.” And yet you state that she is not qualified because she is a “hockey mom.” Well, if you know “nothing about her,” Matt, how do you know she isn’t qualified? That makes no sense.

And are you saying that a “hockey mom” ( i.e., woman) can’t be vice president? Or is just REPUBLICAN women who aren’t qualified to be vice president? (If Hillary was a self-professed ‘hockey mom,’ would you also say SHE wasn’t qualified to be president?? She is a mom. But is it only ‘hockey moms’ who aren’t qualified??).

Don’t you think that’s sexist, Matt? Would you also say that a “soccer dad” isn’t qualified to be vice president because he’s a “dad”?

If Palin were a Democrat, all Democrats would argue that her being mayor of a small town and being a governor for 2 years has nothing to do with whether or not she’s qualified.

And I have to mention: Susan Sarandon said Jesus was a “community organizer” and Pilate was a “governor” - as if to suggest that poor Obama was being persecuted by the big, bad Palin.
First of all, Susan, Jesus was NOT a “community organizer.”
Secondly, Obama is HARDLY the persecuted, righteous man that you and others claim him to be.
I’ve seen youtube videos of him claiming to be a Christian, then bashing the Bible and other Christians.
How can you trust a man like that? He’s dishonest.

I’m really tired of “celebrities” who feel they need to voice their opinions by being hateful, malicious and untruthful about candidates they do not support.

I think celebrities should keep their personal opinions to themselves. What is Matt Damon besides another pretty face. If he was ugly he would never have made any money, he certainly has no acting ability. He needs to do a little more research before he spouts off about a very qualified candidate who happens to be a woman. That is the real issue, he is afraid to admit that a woman may be capable of running this country and actually might do a better job of it than the men have.

Another worthless comment from an air headed celebrity. Zzzzz…..
What’s wrong Matt? Afraid of a strong woman? I realize that being Pro-family, Pro-God and Pro-America is everything Hollywood is against. I guess you haven’t learned by now that no one cares what any of you Hollywood elitist think!

Matt is right, I am glad to see someone speak out, it is craziness… when questioned about being on the short list Palin said ” When someone expains to me what the VP acutally does, then maybe I will consider.” You can find that on you tube… enter Sarah Palin questioned about being on short list, she is serious in that interview! Check it out.

I think Matt Damon and any other celebrities are pretty stupid to get on their band wagons and bad mouth a candidate, whoever the candidate is. If they want to support a candidate that’s their option but I think they’re being pretty risky when they start trashing a candidate. They just may be pissing off some of their fans. I don’t have respect for any of the celebrities who trash candidates and our president publically. I think in the long run it could hurt their popularity. Matt Damon definitely lost points in my book along with other celebrities who choose to run off at the mouth. Just remember the Dixie Chicks. How long did it take them to come back and even though they did, they’re not what they were before they opened their big mouths!

It’s more scary to me that if a person like Obama who has NO knowlege of governing sits in the office. At least Palin has some experesince governing a state.

Obama has NO qualification to be a president of the U.S. Those people who are in love with him apparently lost their mind. Just because last 8 years were not good years dosen’t mean this Obama can save the world. Just look at his resume, you people!

I couldn’t agree with Matt more!! I watched this on TV last night and was so glad to hear him speaking out. She is in no way qualified to be the second in command of the US. It’s a joke and the American people had better be smart enough to know it.l

Sorry, but I agree with Matt. I don’t want someone who is going to put HER BELIEFS ON THIS COUNTRY. She opposes Stem Cell research, which we need to do. She is pro life enough said.

I think Matt Damon should stick to acting. I can see why he is not in politics, because his opinion is uneducated and ridiculous. He should keep his opinions to himself. I believe that people are smart enough to make their own decisions and not those of others simply because they are ‘celebrities’. I believe that his comment is irresponsible and I for one will not be seeing any of his future films.

DEBRA (Sept 10): I guess, then, that you wisely won’t be taking any comments seriously that come from obama, because, HE thinks he’s running against SARAH PALIN!
