Clay's 'Idol' Pals Approve

Clay Aiken appeared on "Good Morning America" this morning, talking about coming out of the closet for the sake of his son -- and his "American Idol" buds showed Aiken support for his decision.

"Idol" producer Nigel Lythgoe says, "I think it's very brave of him." Season one crooner Ryan Starr was more direct in his congratulations, saying, "I think that's awesome that he had the b***s to come out and say that."

Aiken told Diane Sawyer that after the birth of son Parker, it was "time to let the guard down," explaining, "I don't ever want to raise him in an environment where it's not okay for him to be exactly who he is, no matter what."

This issue is no longer new to me or at least to the gay world…Even if he will not reveal that he is GAY….its very obvious that he is GAY….I knew it even before…but at least now its public….his personality is very obvious that he is GAY…nothing new….

Wow, I’m shocked. I had no Idea. Yeah right. I knew he was a fruit the first time I saw him. But good for you for finally coming out of the closet. I could care less if you are gay or not. But at least be honest. I hate liars and he lied for years about it for years. NEVER lie.

Clay is a talented man and I am happy that he has come out and admits that he is gay. MOST people are accepting of gay people, which is how it should be. I’m a 61 year old woman with three kids and 6 grandkids and most people from my era aren’t that accepting of gay people but we’re ALL God’s children! Way to go Clay, I wish you much happiness!

I am happy that he is one of the many that have chosen to come out. However I am upset that it took so long when everyone knew he was gay from his idol debut. He was asked by many reporters and hilarious comedian (Katy Griffin- Love her) but yet he denied it. That is what makes me upset why hide from who you are if the world can accept Ellen, Rupaul, and many others why hide it does reflect your abilities as an actor, singer, or dancer. The mire question is if the baby was not here would clay have come out of the closet?

There are so many self-righteous people who does nothing but condemn others…Why don’t you just live your own life and do something good for others…TO EACH HIS OWN..Only Clay will answer to his Maker for all the things he has done in his life time…You have no right to judge him…Has he done something evil to you personally that you hate him that much?

I don’t even think you listen to the radio or know anything about Clay’s achievements since his American Idol days…IF you say he sucks as a singer, then why the hell did they ask him to reprive his role in Spamelot? Are the Broadway producers dumb? Why did record producers ask him to do his latest CD? PLEASE…make your research first before making irresponsible comments…

I love Clay Aiken. He has a beautiful voice, and obviously he appears to be a far better person than any of you haters. He at least fills his life with friends, family, love, laughter and good will. Plus he also has a foundation that he supports. What are you losers doing for mankind and others?

Clay did a brave thing and I for one am very proud of him. Knowing he is gay does not change my opinion of him in any way. Be who you are and let others know who you are. IT IS BETTER TO DIE ON YOUR FEET THAN TO LIVE ON YOUR KNEES.
