A star is born! Thanks to a little help from a couple of her friends -- like Oprah Winfrey and Celine Dion -- 16-year-old singing sensation Charice Pempengco's YouTube video has now been widely seen, and millions heard her amazing story on "Oprah" last May.

The diva-in-training got a chance to sing with one of her idols -- Celine Dion, who raved, "She has an amazing voice. She has an amazing heart, an amazing soul."

Charice grew up in poverty in the Philippines, and says she witnessed her own father try to kill her mother, who has been her voice coach since she was 4 years old.

Charice, your performance in the Celebrity Fight Night XV, Phonenix, AZ on March 28,2009 was beyond superb! Despite Mohammad Ali’s parkinson DZ, he was able to smile during your Billie Jean and I Will Survive numbers. Everyone went gaga over you. I think you moved them to tears, especially his wife. You don’t only have a wonderful voice, but you also have a very big heart. You were very compassionate towards Ali that night. You made him so special, and I think you brought his fame back that night, and he lived once again. Thank you child. You are not only admirable, but a very respectable young person. My heart goes out to you. I will be looking forward to your album. May God continue to bless you and your family, and please stay grounded and focused on what your real purpose in life is. Love you and more power to you.

An amazing little girl with an unbelievable voice and stage presence.

Her story has touched so many hearts her talented is undoubtedly electrifying _ I look forward to see this girl join the ranks of the Music industry’s top Diva’s - Ms. Dion for one (she has an amazing heart to let this girl share the stage with her- KUDOS to Celine!)

Ellen De Generes should be credited for her first US debut-give credit where credit is due, Ellen introduced her to all of us even before Oprah had her in her show.

I first heard about Charice from my daugther who told me her amazing performance in Ellen DeGeneres show. From then on I’m always visiting her website and repeatedly playing her videos. Thanks for Ellen, Oprah, Andrea, and David helping her achieve her dreams. My advice to Charice.. always be humble just like you are now. She’s truly a very loving child and exceptional example to our growing kids.
