Bill Maher's Political Report Card

0930maher.jpg

Funnyman Bill Maher is in high gear for the White House race -- and the candidates, Democrats and Republicans alike, aren't safe from Maher's over-the-top review!

Barack Obama's debating skills with John McCain earned the Illinois senator a barely passing grade from Maher. "That's Obama's fault," Bill jokes. "Obama needs a short catchy phrase like... 'There you go again, Grandpa.'"

As far as the 19-time Emmy nominee is concerned, GOP VP hopeful Sarah Palin isn't suited for the job she's vying for -- and gets a big "F" from Maher. "The idea that this Avon Lady is a heartbeat away from running the world is one of the most cynical things I've ever seen in American politics." Maher then offered a piece of advice to Palin's Dem rival Joe Biden for Thursday's Vice Presidential Debate -- while knocking the Alaska governor's knowledge of the issues. "Just bring up the subjects Sarah doesn't know anything about -- which is any one of them."

Bill turns his acid-tongued rants from politics to religion in his new documentary, "Religulous." The controversial flick opens in theatres October 3.

Bill Maher thank you for comparing Avon Representatives and Sarah Palin. All Avon Representatives are intelligent, hard working, dedicated to our profession and spunky at the same time. This Avon Representative does not mind being compared to such a fantastaic individual as Sarah Palin. In fact I believe you should sell Avon and see just what it’s all about.

I am an Avon representative and have been running a successful business for 4 1/2 yrs. I find his comment about the “Avon Lady” degrading and disrespectful. I know of many very successful business women in this field. It’s not just a cute hobby with a bunch of brainless women!

And this is coming from the guy who can’t keep ratings up for his show. “Politically incorrect” only gets you 15 seconds of fame then your listeners get board of the hype and move on to something with substance. If you want loyalty, try taking a few tips on the pursuit of truth and integrity from Ben Stein (expelled). You’re movie’s not going anywhere Bill. You can’t attack the heart and belief of the American people and get away with it. FYI - Faith isn’t going anywhere.

First, I find myself asking “what was his childhood like, his relationship with his father, in particular?” Then I think “who cares what he believes, or doesn’t believe. Who is he, anyway?” Finally, I think “I don’t want to know the answers to any of this. It’s not worth any more of my time.”

I find Maher’s comment regarding Palin as an Avon lady quite disparaging towards Avon representatives. Many of us are college educated, bilingual and talented entrepreneurs. Remember that Avon has a wonderful 123 year history as a company, and has survived 2 World Wars, a Depression and recession on the backs of it’s sales force — the Avon lady.

Bill Maher and his insults towards McCain/Palin make him more pathetic than ever. Funny how you don’t play any clips of verbal attacks against Obama. Bill Maher can say what he wants because he always ends up looking like the angry, little man that he is.
