Applegate: 'It's Important for Me to Have a Voice'

"Samantha Who?" star Christina Applegate chose the Emmys to make her first red carpet appearance since her breast cancer diagnosis -- and the "Samantha Who?" star opened up about her ordeal, telling "Extra" that she felt an obligation to be vocal on her recovery.

"It was really important for me to have a voice," Christina admitted. "I wasn't going to be quiet about this... I think I've helped a lot of people."

The 36-year-old told "Good Morning America" last month that the cancer was found through an MRI test as a follow-up to a biopsy she underwent last year -- and that she is currently cancer-free.

Stunning as usual!!! Keep up being so vocal, you are continuing to help people! Vast Numbers of people hear your message. Your popularity and beauty give hope to women as myself who also was fortunate to find my breast ca early by MRI even after 2 mammograms & 2 ultrasounds were NEGATIVE. I’m an RN and I knew something was wrong and didn’t give up. The MRI saved my life. Please keep on being our shining beacon through the darkness and convaluted road through the insurance wrongful power that seems to prevail. You ARE being heard. You go girl!!! Thank-You

By far, the most stunning woman there, that night.it would be an honor to take her to lunch or dinner.
sometimes, you just have to put it out there, especially from a middle- aged guy!!
never stop shinning Christina

I appreciate Christina Applegate for comming forward and being upfront about her cancer and surgery. I lost my Aunt to breast cancer and it was a terribly tragic thing to watch somene with so much grace and so much to live for, slip away. Christina also wore the most beautiful dress last night. I thought is showed her radience, her triumph, and pride in choosing life. WAY TO GO Christina!
