Michelle O: First Lady of Fashion

Finally, we might get some serious style in the White House! As prescient Luxaholics predicted, Maria Pinto was the lucky designer who dressed Michelle Obama last night in that very becoming '50s-style turquoise blue sheath. Is there some sartorial loyalty here? Chicago-based Pinto also dressed Michelle in the classic purple shift she wore the night hubby Barack announced is candidacy in February.
Pinto says of Michelle's confident look, "Michelle's style can best be described as timeless. Choosing items that are always modern and chic, Mrs. Obama possesses a natural and unpretentious sophistication, which is reflected in her clothing."
Good news! Michelle's convention dress will be available in Maria Pinto's Chicago store starting on or about September 15. But the stunning starburst brooch that made her shine even brighter was straight out of Michelle's own jewelry box.
No plans for Chicago? Don't have a designer budget? No sweat! Find Pinto's timeless look for less -- at shops like Ann Taylor, J.Crew and Banana Republic.

Finally!!! Please…Michelle is trying to copy Jackie Kennedy and media pushes it more with the Michelle O (as in Jackie O).
The clothes don’t look bad on Michelle but I don’t see her as much of a fashion plate - she doesn’t have the right look for it - she isn’t very femine looking - too athletic to be much of a fashion plate. She is a nice looking woman and dresses nice - that IS NOT a fashion plate.
