Mac's Wife: 'He's in a Better Place'

Bernie Mac passed away last weekend -- and now the comedian's widow, Rhonda, is talking to People magazine about his last days.
"He didn't look good to me and I knew this could be it," Rhonda said. She described the bond shared with her husband of thirty years -- and how she felt his presence the day after he died. "A chill just came over me and I knew it was him," she said. "I get through because I know he's in a better place now."
Mac died August 9 at age 50, due to complications from pneumonia. He is survived by his wife and their 30-year-old daughter, Je'Niece.

WHEN I HEARD THAT BERNIE DIED IT WAS NOT ONLY A REALITY CHECK BUT IT WAS A WAKE UP CALL, I NEVER WOULD HAVE THOUGHT THAT BERNIE MAC WOULD HAVE DIED AT SUCH A YOUNG AND VIBRANT AGE. DEATH IS NEVER A GOOD THING BUT THIS SHOULD BE A MESSAGE TO ALL OF US THAT LIFE IS NOT PROMISED AND NO MATTER WHAT TRIALS WE MAY BE FACED WITH WE MUST ALWAYS PUT GOD FIRST BECAUSE HE IS IN CONTROL OF EVERYTHING.FOR EVERY ONE OF US THERE IS AN EXPIRATION DATE BUT WHILE WE ARE STILL BREATHING WE MUST FULFILL OUR PURPOSE HERE ON EARTH
