Gwen & Gavin Welcome Baby Zuma

0821gwen.jpg

Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale have welcomed a boy -- with quite a name! Zuma Nesta Rock Rossdale was born just after noon today weighing 8 1/2 lbs., reports People magazine.

"Kingston, Gwen and Gavin Rossdale welcomed the newest member of their family," they said in a statement. "Mother, baby and family are all happy and healthy."

This is the second child for the rockin' twosome -- Kingston, whom proud pop Gavin has called his "greatest triumph" -- is 2.

Zuma i think comes from the next president of South Africa. Jacob Zuma. Nesta is after Robert Nesta Marly better know as Bob Marley. i think there are very powerful names and the energy those two did Zuma and Marley are likely to reflect in their child. so ddont change their names. Very good names I must say.

Courtney: NONE of the stuff we read on this site is anyone’s business. When it’s put out like this, though, with a space for comments, that’s what we do - comment! They’re allowed to name their baby anything they want (celebs don’t live in the real world, and don’t think ANY rules apply to them - the B.O. endorsements, for example!), and we’re allowed to think it’s a weird name, if WE want. How does that translate into jealousy?????I can name my kid anything I want, too!

I saw that one of the track and field guys from Jamaica is named Nesta. He was on the Olympic team.

When I was a kiddo, I used to watch a tv show which I think was called ‘zoom’. The theme song went ‘We’re gonna zoom zoom zuma zoom’… etc - that’s the very first thing i thought of when I heard this name! Poor little guy! Childhood can be tough in regards to getting teased, why do parents make it even worse for their kids?!

I thought growing up with the name Stormy was tough…..Zuma Nesta Rock is just so mean to do to a sweet little baby! Poor thing will have a hard time writing his name on his paper in kindergarten.

I feel sorry for celebrity kids. The parents feel they have to sustain popularity through them. And to add unsult to injury, the poor kids struggle all their life. Naming children weird and unusual names is cruel and insane.

Zuma sounds like a cartoon character. Nesta isn’t any better…some one else said it sounded like that sleeping pill and I agree. Rock is weird too.
Poor kid.
My bf said if we had a son he wanted to name him Zepplin and I said NO WAY!!!!

You know, I understand that don’t want just any old regular name but ZUMA! How can anyone actually LIKE that name. Poor child, he’ll probably develop a complex.
