Does McCain's Pick Help His Chances?
John McCain has picked Sarah Palin to be his veep -- in a move that makes the 2008 election even more historic.

If you weren't a McCain supporter before -- are you now?

I guess ‘liberation’ is only meant for liberal women. That’s why Sarah Palin’s family life is being examined so closely. Has anyone ever asked Obama how he will have the time to be President with two young children?
Why have you not mentioned the fact that Palin does not believe in global warming? Why have you not mentioned McSame/Palin is against Row VS Wade. Why have you not mentioned when the question was asked to Palin about her being on the short list of candidates she said ” she may consider once someone explains to her what that VP actually does!” the reporter was taken back by that, I can’t believe someone that is experienced would let herself be recorded saying such a thing… I am sure you can find that interview, I just heard in last night. AS a mayor in Wasilla, Palin fired the librarian because she would not remove books related to evolution, as a result the people of Wasilla were upset and demanded the librarian get her job back. These actual events are important, and I hope that you take notice.
What do we know about Sara Palin? She knows nothing about foreign diplomacy, takes credit for things she had no part in the outcome, uses her power to settle family disputes or make herself look good, inflicts her religious beliefs on others, couldn’t even write her own speech, substituted dull attempts at humor in place of substance, willing to sacrifice God’s endangered wildlife for oil rather than look for alternate sources, and that’s just the beginning. I wouldn’t want her for a neighbor let alone the VP of this great nation. McCain really messed up, but no big surprise. There were so many intelligent women he could have chosen. Why did he pick from the bottom of the barrell?
As a women I want to keep my rights.
McCain/Palin they are against row vs wade. They want it to be reversed, scary, what about women who have been raped, or incest? Women’s rights are at risk should McCain/Palin take office.
My rights as a women are of a huge concern to me
It takes a special person to have a special needs child and keep it! I had an aunt with Downs Syndrome, God bless her. At least Mrs. Palin and family will keep the child and love him unconditionally and not institutionalize it like some of the other “liberals” such as the Kennedy’s did with one of their siblings.
Sarah Palin is a great example of a leader with proven executive experience. EXTRA and the rest of the media should STOP tearing down her family. Obama admits to using cocaine himself about 20 years ago—-right around when her husband (not Sarah herself) had the DUI. All of it is OLD NEWS and should not impact the race. But Obama’s cocaine use is more relevant than the candidate’s husband’s 20 year old alcohol use.
Thanks, Anonymous! People like to busy themselves w/ the irrelevant details of these peoples’ lives, as a bit of smoke and mirros to the real issues at hand. I think you summed it up in the end, though, when you stated: (even though I, personally do want McCain, our reasoning is the same)”I don’t necessarily want McCain in there but will vote for him because he is a ‘true’ in my opinion American. He does respect our country, flag and freedoms. In the end ALL of that matters!”
Right,Kevin, and how about the story book way BO’s family was introduced to us and the world. (AND, when hilary was running w/ that albatross around her neck, negative comments about HIM were at a minimum).Give me a break, please. Why weren’t the others’ families presented like that; not glorified, but vilified at every turn possible, no matter how insignificant or irrelevant. These so-called ‘newspeople’ should be mortified - I’M embarrassed FOR them! I just hope that the voting public, by now, is savvy enough to see through the unbelievably biased, subjective, and totally whacked out media and their ‘coverage’, and use their own minds in November.
Listen to all the liberals say it’s OK to get into Gov. Palin’s personal life and then judge her. Where were they when Bubba Clinton was wagging his finger at the American people and lying, and servicing his sick porn persona on Monica with a cigar, not there’s even a distant corralation between the two. The liberals just expose themselves for what they are; ugly, violent, hurtful, hateful, manipulating, lying, ends-justify-the-means jerks.
HERE IS AN EXHERPT OF SOMETHING ALL YOU OBAMA PEOPLE NEED TO READ! READ THE ENTIRE ARTICLE BY CLIFF KINDAID IN ACCURACY IN MEDIA. Obama’s Communist Mentor
AIM Column | By Cliff Kincaid | February 18, 2008
Horne describes it, Davis “befriended” a “Euro-American family” that had “migrated to Honolulu from Kansas and a young woman from this family eventually had a child with a young student from Kenya East Africa who goes by the name of Barack Obama, who retracing the steps of Davis eventually decamped to Chicago.”
It was in Chicago that Obama became a “community organizer” and came into contact with more far-left political forces, including the Democratic Socialists of America, which maintains close ties to European socialist groups and parties through the Socialist International (SI), and two former members of the Students for a Democratic Society (SDS), William Ayers and Carl Davidson.
The SDS laid siege to college campuses across America in the 1960s, mostly in order to protest the Vietnam War, and spawned the terrorist Weather Underground organization. Ayers was a member of the terrorist group and turned himself in to authorities in 1981. He is now a college professor and served with Obama on the board of the Woods Fund of Chicago. Davidson is now a figure in the Committees of Correspondence for Democracy and Socialism, an offshoot of the old Moscow-controlled CPUSA, and helped organize the 2002 rally where Obama came out against the Iraq War
BRAVO! On what Sue wrote 31 Aug. I totally agree with you about Palin being a “true frontiersman” type of person. She is a mother, career person, and someone who will matter if elected. Down to earth, the only thing I do disagree on is saying her daughter should marry the father of the unborn child. Yes, he should be made to fulfill his responsibility as a father but not forced to marry. She will have her parents help regardless. However, it should not all be blamed on Sarah Palin what her daughter has done; it takes two to tango. Levi should have kept his drawers on and Bristol her legs together! He also should have had and used protection as likewise with her!
I had voted for Nobama in the primary so that Hillary wouldn’t be there but don’t intend on voting for Nobama now. I don’t necessarily want McCain in there but will vote for him because he is a ‘true’ in my opinion American. He does respect our country, flag and freedoms. In the end ALL of that matters!
The way I see it is very selfish on Palins part. She has more on her plate the the average mother. She has a son with down syndrome, who she left at home, 3 days after giving birth, that shows maybe she could not handle the stress of caring for a baby with demanding needs, now a teenage daughter whom will need her now more then ever…. it IS relevant, as she runs from her family, is she going to run when the going gets to in the White house too?
Comparing in-House (our House, btw, so NOT private) adultery, to an unfortunate, common error in teen judgement. I’d watch that. She’s also giving the child a chance at a family, by getting married. I don’t care what goes on in Palin’s PRIVATE family life - I only care whether or not she can be a viable addition to the campaign - I think, so far, that she may be.
Private matters my friend, tend to seep into matters in the white house (IE. Bill Clinton & Monica.)
We live in an exreme society, where someone like Palin or McCain is damned if they do, and damned if they don’t. The extremes come in the headlines and insinuations of the so-called independent and objective media. Let’s just leave it to these people to deal w/ their own private stuff, and their own arrangements as to family matters once they get in office.
ANONYMOUS: I bet you work for the McCain/Palin ticket. You spend a lot of time on this website. As for your marbles in YOUR head, I can’t tell you if there noisy? Are they? Your funny though!
You go to extremes in your posting. No one is saying women should be stay at home moms, there should be a balance, obviously Palin has more on her plate then most of us, a baby that requires attention that only a mom can give. Now a daughter that will need her more then ever. I admire that Mrs. Palin has a career as Gov in Alaska, but that is the point she is close to her kids… in her own state.
So now, all of a sudden, women are homemakers, meant to stay in the house and raise their families, with no career goals other than child-rearing, hearth and home duties, and all that it entails? It’s funny, because that’s how I live, and what I believe, yet I’m always met w/ sarcasm, pity, or disdain when I mention my ‘career’. It’s the so-called ‘liberal-mided, modern women who are issuing the putdowns. So now, here’s a typical modern women, the kind you all admire, just like any ‘working mother’,single breeder, the upper class, or celebrity of various media, having the family for others to raise, and you’re STILL yapping and complaining. Just projecting your own assumptions about Palin and her supposed inabilities, does NOT mean they have ANY validity. You can’t pretend to know the inner workings of her mind, her family dynamics, or her maternal skills. And who said she hid her pregnancy? And so what if she did? If she mentions something, it’s inappropriate - if she doesn’t, it’s inappropriate. Who made up these rules? Who, Who? Oh, how does one wish marbles around the head? I’ll bet it gets noisy in there!
Anonymous, how do you feel that Palin went back to work 3 days, after giving birth to a baby that has Down Syndrome. It would appear she could not handle the stress? Most parents I know would take more time off in that case. Family first. Now her daughter will need her more then ever,Palin will not be as avaiable in DC, as she should would be in Alaska. Palin will be set up to fail her daughter and family, or worse her country.
In addition I am not sure how Palin was able to hide her pregnancy? And why would she, that is something to be proud of and share with the whole world! I don’t know, just a thought for you to wish around your marbles in your head Anonymous.
clinton did nothing better than proving that you DON’T have to be held to a higher standard to be in office. Anyway, it does matter to me, but absolutely never in a million yrs. enough to make me vote for obama - McCain and Palin are gonna have to do a lot worse for me to hand over the country to him.
Roe vs. Wade mess is concerning the term abortion on demand. it does not cover the abortion or incest stuff.
it mostly covers people that are sleeping around with everybody and then get pregnant and decide that an easy way out is to kill the child.
so women should not be concerned with the overturn of r v.w.
you can tell that sarah and her family are very pro life. look at what nobama said about if his daughters got pregnant he would not want them to be tied down to a baby as a teenager. ever heard of adoption? goodness.
so if you are not a loose woman, then you shouldn’t worry about it if r v. w was overturned.
your (whoever is reading) parents were pro life, so dont’ knock it.
