Clooney: Mac 'Will Be Missed Dearly'

"Ocean's Eleven" stars George Clooney and Brad Pitt are recalling their late co-star Bernie Mac -- and mourning his passing.

"The world just got a little less funny," Clooney tells People magazine. "He will be missed dearly." Fellow "Oceans" star Brad Pitt added, "I lament the loss of a ferociously funny and hardcore family man. My thoughts are with Rhonda and their family. Bernie Mac, you are already missed."

Bernie, 50, died Saturday morning in a Chicago area hospital of complications from pneumonia.

To Bernie Mac’s family: I just recently heard of his passing. I know there is no consolation for losing him, but I will tell you what I loved about him; his humor; his big heart; his silliness; his sensitivity. I just watched the episode of the Bernie Mac show entitied “Sweet Home Chicago”. If you haven’t seen it, see it. If you have; ‘nuff said. Showed he was more than a comedian. I would like to send my prayers and thoughts out to the MAC family, he was a extradinary man, very funny he kept me laughing. I loved all the shows that he played in he did a wounderful job in making people laugh, he had a beautiful smile, a beautiful heart. I read his story about school and I am so glad that he made his dream come true before he left this earth, he makes people realize that dreams can come true. It seem that GOD has truly got himself an angle, and I want to say to Mrs.Mac and family keep your head up it will get a little easer. May GOD bless you and your family.

God bless you Mrs. Rhonda an Je’Niece. I will pray for God to help you all thur this. It is going to be hard but all of you guys are going to be okay. He is with Jesus now! There isn’t a better place he would want to be. Now for Bernie “IT IS ALL GOOD NOW”. Bernie Mac is a angel now! I never had the pleasure of working with Bernie, but I loved his talent! He was and will remain a hero to those who looked up to him in the entertainment family! Heaven is in for a treat, Bernie is about to bring a bit more joy to Heaven!!! Peace be with his family!!!

I will remember Bernie Mac, not because of his show on Fox, which I don’t watch, but as part of the cast of the three Ocean movies, who I love very much. He’s part of a great team and I will miss him very much.
