Simon Cowell, Movie Producer

0703simon.jpg

There's no summer break for TV's hardest working mogul! Simon Cowell is in London with our Terri Seymour and telling "Extra" about his surprising new career -- as a movie producer!

Simon is teaming with Paramount for a rags-to-riches biopic about Paul Potts, the English opera sensation who won Simon's hit, "Britain's Got Talent."

"Paramount Studios wants to do it, so they're making a movie," he explained. But will Mr. Nasty make a cameo? "I don't think so," he said. "Haven't thought about that." Ryan Seacrest, Randy Jackson and Paula Abdul will not be making cameos, either. "I'll get them tickets to the premiere, don't worry," he said.

As to who Simon would like to portray him on the big screen? Brad Pitt! "It's believable," he joked. Simon also says he's not worried about last season's ratings dip on "American Idol," explaining, "I think it's fixable. I think everyone took themselves a bit too seriously last year."

Totally agree. I’d take smooth Simon over Jawface Brad anyday! I would love to see a movie about the making of Idol and how it turned into a mega-hit. Maybe then Simon will get the respect he deserves.

I am so excited! I can’t wait to see what comes next from the brilliant mind of Simon Cowell. The man is brilliant, so no doubt this movie will be great. He should reconsider Brad Pitt though. Simon is far more sexy than Brad.

Congrats to Simon on taking his career to the next level, I am so excited to see the movie, and I do hope he will make a cameo, or better yet, play himself. There isn’t an actor in Hollywood who is anywhere near as gorgeous and charming as Simon.
