McCain's 'Celeb' Attack on Obama: Fair or Unfair?

John McCain recently released an advertisement that compared fellow contender Barack Obama to Paris Hilton and Britney Spears.

Tell "Extra" -- do you think that McCain's comparison is fair?

I can’t believe Paris’ mom has the face to make such a big deal out of McCain’s ad. Did she prefer Paris in her last appearance on film? No one got permission for that, either. By the way, Mrs. H, he was commenting on the jet-setting ways of B.O., inappropriate for a sen.(they can’t vote for you in Europe), but not for the starlets who’s only job in life is to socilaize.Get it?He was making a c-o-m-p-a-r-i-s-o-n. Unless, maybe you are upset that Paris was in the same ad as B.O.!

I think of the three.., Paris Hilton is the best looking.., since I like Blondes and people with genuine humor and a sense of “Joy de’ Veive”.

Long live Paris !! *(And good food too!).

The inexperienced flash in the pan Obama is a danger to the USA. His total inexperience in all aspects of goverment from Security, to Economy is scary and it is a total travesty that he was even nominated when our country is in crisis. Blacks would choose a crack smoking womanizing anti-patriot who pissed on a flag —as long as he is Black! You don’t have to go back too far to prove this theory…just look at Marion Barry..he did all of this except pee on a flag! and he was still elected Mayor of DC by a BLACK majority…a telling tale indeed. Do we want to elect an inexperienced person based on popularity and a biased racist Black vote? Not me. I am a Democrat and now have no good choice in a year that should have been easy. Obama will be remembered after he loses for ruining Dem’s chances with his arrogance and cult of personality campaign. Maybe we’ll get luck and a James Earl ray type will take care of the problem, and when he’s done take care of Oprah!

He didn’t say anything against Ms. Spears. The unfavorable comment was directed at OBAMA and HIS antics (it’s ok for a starlet, not for a senator, was the point!) - so, clearly (to most people) no back-pedaling was involved.

lets go back, during the 2000 campaign john mccain appeared on saturday night live with britney spears and commented how wonderful she was… so who’s back peddling now???

It’s completely fair. Senator Barack Hussein Obama has been using the race card, and it’s always unfair when it’s not to his advantage, but the truth is the truth.

A flash in the pan, media favorites do not equate to being capable of guiding and running the United States of America.

Reality needs to set in, it’s not a popularity contest like in high school. This is an economic recession and terrorism on all fronts.

Senator Barack Hussein Obama wants to sit down and talk to the terrorists. How did he graduate college with that mentality.

He states when that he was raised by a single mother, but then that he was raised by his Grandparents in Hawaii, but his mother was married twice to Muslims. No wonder he has no problem sitting down with terrorists.

Of course the McCain ad was unfair — par for the course — McCain has “risen” to a new LOW…

I think it was totally fair, however I think McCain could have used better celebrities in the commercial, not two washed up females. I think it would have pulled more clout if he used Brad Pitt, George Clooney, Will Smith or Denzel Washington for example. As for me, I don’t like either choice for President! Hilary had my vote but I guess I’ll choose the best of the two that’s left, McCain.

SURE IT IS FAIR…OBAMA IS NOTHING BUT A CELEBRITY WITH NO EXPERIENCE AND NO SUBSTANCE OTHER THAN WORDS..PARIS BLEW A GUY AND BECAME FAMOUS AND PROBABLY HAS MORE EXPERIENCE THAN OBAMA!

YES, IT IS FAIR, OBAMA HAS ABOUT AS MUCH EXPERIENCE AS BOTH OF THEM WITH PARIS A BIT MORE EXPERIENCED IN PORN.

Mr. McCain must certainly feel threatened by Mr. Obama, if he has to resort to “Bush” type tactics. This county needs “change” badly. McCain is just a continuation of the “Bush” regime. “WAKE UP AMERICA”

it was a low shot. i am very dissapointed with the amount of low shots throughout the entire election. not just with mccain and obama, but with hilary too. it is sad that there are such great canidates running on all sides, that resort to such low tactics as to puplicly try to lower the other. it only kills their chances. this election is not about who can outshine the other. it is about who is best for our nation.

I don’t blame McCain for saying that; it’s a non-event. He wasn’t necessarily insulting Paris or Britney. He was making a valid comparison to the way obama is jetting around, playing the popularity game, cheesing for the cameras, saying the same cute expression every day, etc. It reminds me of when I’d see clinton on MTV (ugh). I think McCain is quite informed on the ‘real’ issues, and not interested in dazzling us w/ the smoke and mirrors of trying to be everything to everyone, or b.s.’ing just to hear himself talk. All I know is, I’d NEVER EVER vote for anyone who clearly has disdain for the very country he’s courting to lead.

it seems there is only one side of this campaign that actually discusses issues. not just bash bush. these comments match that trend which is hilarious. so, obama has never had to run for re-election, yet mccain has been in the senate for 26 years. I would say that makes him more experienced, would’nt you? Obama is a great speaker, people get fired up by hearng him talk, but he hasnt really ever said anything…except he isnt Bush. John Kerry tried that, how’d that work out? Mccain stands for tax cuts across the boards, a strong defense policy where we are all safe (just like since 911), self sustaining energy (non-foreign dependence on oil) and strong family values. This is what this country needs…not a speach maker

I’m an Independent and I think this ad and the ad blaming the gas prices on Obama….is just desperate and shows a lot of jealously on McCain’s part. While McCain claims Obama doesn’t have any experience to run the country. Being a POW doesn’t give McCain the experience needed to run the country either. I mean you guys put Bush in the White House look at the mess he has made…..McCain will be Bush all over again.
