What the hell? Maybe this person never heard about Franklin D. Roosevelt, who lived in a fairly big house—it’s now a museum in Hyde Park, New York; go take a look if you don’t believe me—and he did more for the poor in this country, and did more to bring about a strong middle class in this country than anybody else in American history. I guess he was a “phoney and a hypocrite” too, no?
And about that haircut: the guy needs a haircut, right where he is, right when he needs it, on short notice, that will look good on television from any angle, and you’re steamed about himpaying what that’s worth? Should he have stiffed the barber? Would that have made him a “straight talker”? Why are people so offended when highly skilled people who work hard make a decent living? Yeah, sure, I know, $400 haircuts are titillating, but shouldn’t we try to be a little more grown up?
