'Idol' David Cook: Shoe Biz is My Life

"Extra" caught up with "American Idol" season seven winner David Cook at a Sketchers photo shoot, where the singer talked about his brother, his tour, and his current relationship with Kimberly Caldwell.

He had some good news about his brother Adam's battle with brain cancer, saying, "My brother's tumor for the time being is in limbo, it's not growing, which is good news." "Idol" fans may remember that despite his illness, Cook's brother flew to L.A. to watch David perform on the show. "Knock on wood, we're just hoping for continued good news," the 25-year-old singer added.

David's relationship with former "Idol" Kimberly Caldwell is going well. "So far so good... it's tough, but we're making time for each other when we can." Cook is currently touring with nine other "Idol" contestants on the American Idols Live! summer tour.

David, dont be so anxious for a relationship with anyone like Kimberly,
surley there are nice girls.

David is in the public eye now. Fan or not a fan, people can say whatever they feel about his girlfriend. He might be a tasteful person on a professional level, but if she’s his type of girl … he shows absolutely no good taste whatsoever.

I don’t think people should be calling David Cook’s girlfriend names. (No I have never met the woman)You are only hurting David. This is someone he really likes and he would not like to be reading these kind of comments. I have never read anything bad about her. Kimberly always was great on Idol Chat. She seems very nice.

yes,seriously, we don’t care about the slutty girl, don’t ask about her anymore at all, you make us lose out interest in reading the articles about david. it’s fine about the brother, but more on his music please

Maybe Extra will run the video again on David Cook and Sketchers endorsement?
I too hope they put it on the weekend show edition at least!

Heard there was a video story from the photoshoot. Any chance we’d see that online? Sadly I don’t live in the US, and I really want to see it, after what I’ve heard…

Agree with the others. I’m sick of hearing about the girlfriend … I despise the woman since Season 2 … miss fakeness. Stick to the music, not the Skankwell talk. Her crass personality (demonstrated again and agan) seems incompatible with his kind and caring demeanour (demonstrated again and again).

And his brother’s situation is none of your business.

Seriously, could we ask him something related to his music? I’m thrilled for his brother and happy that he’s happy with KC, but seriously….music?
