Obama Clinches Nomination

0604obama.jpg

Presidential hopeful Barack Obama has landed enough delegates to become the presumptive Democratic nominee -- making him the first African-American to lead a major party ticket, and Hollywood stars are rallying for him.

Tinseltown supporters of the Illinois senator celebrated -- including actress Kate Walsh. "I think this is a great movement in American history," the "Private Practice" star tells Us Weekly. "The American people want a change in their government and Barack Obama is the best person to lead and serve and bring about the real changes people want. I am thrilled."

Gwyneth Paltrow was quoted in Harper's Bazaar saying, "A lot of people in the West think that we're not very sensitive to the rest of the world, and I think that having a president called Barack Hussein Obama in 2008 says that we are part of the world, and we don't want to make unilateral decisions about the fate of all of us. I just pray to God that he wins."

Hillary Clinton announced yesterday that she is open to the possibility of a so-called dream ticket -- will she sign on as Barack's veep? Stay tuned!

WHY IS EVERYONE SAYING HES THE FIRST AFRICAN AMERICAN TO RUN, WHEN HE IS ACTUALLY THE FIRST BI-RACIAL (get it, Halle, Alicia, etc?) PERSON TO DO SO????? HE SHOULD CERTAINLY BE PROUD OF HIS BACKGROUND, BUT THE FACT REMAINS THAT HE’S EXACTLY AS EURO-AMERICAN AS HE IS AFRICAN-AMERICAN. LEAVE IT TO THE MEDIA TO ADD A DRAMATIC SPIN ON EVERYTHING!!

The few comments on here bashing Obama are down right stupid. Sorry folks, but Hillary LOST fair and square. Proves even more that people will not unite behind Obama because of his color. People say that isn’t the case and want to try to through his policies into it to cover how they really feel.

White America doesn’t want a black man to run this country, but will settle on a white woman? Crazy talk. Look if there aren’t changes in the White House, we will be in the same boat we’re in now.
Everyone has to be given a chance at some point. Who said things have to go by the book the way their suppose to? Lets shake the white house up and get someone in there who can help us. It sure as heck isn’t clinton and mccain folks.

Hey, Gwyneth, I’d check on the name; I don’t think the name is his original. Anyway, we really, really need expertise and experience at this point, not a symbol of U.S. ‘tolerance’ and so-called change from someone who believes respecting this country’s symbols alienates and insults those who find us oppressive. Try THAT in any of those ‘other’ countries, and see where you land up!

As a Hillary Clinton supporter, I’m switching my support to Obama. I hope that all supporter of clinton will do the same. Also, I would like to see Hilary Clinton seek the vice presidency nomination.
