Archuleta Signs Record Deal

No surprise here, "American Idol" runner-up David Archuleta has inked a record deal! The 17-year-old "Idol" star has signed with 19 Recordings/Jive Records, according to the AP.

The singer, also known as "Archie," already has a huge fan base. He earned three songs on Billboard's Hot 100 chart -- his cover of John Lennon's "Imagine," his rendition of "Don't Let the Sun Go Down on Me" and "In This Moment." Archie's debut album is expected later this year.

David Cook, a former bartender from Blue Springs, Mo., won the "Idol" title and a recording contract on the sixth season of the Fox hit show.
