'Extra' Simon Says...

The King of Mean is sounding off on everyone from Clay Aiken and the latest "Idol" to walk the plank -- to one show-stopping surprise -- and only "Extra" has the exclusive sit-down with Simon Cowell!

Tuesday night on "American Idol," Cowell told dreadlocked crooner Jason Castro to pack his bags -- and America agreed. "He looked like he couldn't care less," said Simon of Castro's elimination.

From "Idol" present to "Idol" past -- Simon takes a slap at second season runner-up Clay, who dissed the show in a new interview -- and caused one hairy situation! Seeing Aiken's new blond hairdo, Cowell quipped, "So that was Nancy Grace, where's Clay? It's just that hair. I can't listen to him."

Simon did, however, entertain the notion of a face-off between TV's top judges, himself and Bruno from "Dancing with the Stars!" "He comes on 'American Idol,' I go on 'Dancing with the Stars,'" says Cowell. Find out if it's going to happen as Simon and Bruno make history on "Extra" next week!

Susanna got it so right. Simon just can’t get over the fact that he was so wrong about Clay’s success. He handpicked Ruben and was so wrong. Clay only spoke his mind honestly about the show, and what he said is so true. This is no amateur show anymore, but phoney, recycling people that were already in the business. It simply peaked in Season 2 and they’ll never find another Clay Aiken. Simon sucks. Clay is total class act, beautiful inside and out, and has a long long career ahead of him.

Simon will only praise a former Am. Idol contestant if Simon is making money off them. Anyone who is not under a contract that benefits Simon Cowell personally, Simon puts down.
He’s all about making money, nothing else matters.
The show is boring this year. If they had Clay perform, the ratings would go up, but they don’t want viewers to see the contrast between Clay’s talent and the little boy who is this year’s chosen winner.

There is nothing sensational about this story. Clay simply observed that the show has changed since his time on it. He is right; it has.

It was Extra that twisted his words and tried to start a controversy!

Just plain tacky, Extra!

I thought Simon reflected about the same thing as Clay when he said they would need to have 14yr old contestants. All Clay said was he hadn’t had time to watch AI due to his schedule recording during the day and Spamalot at night, working on his career, but he had heard the contestants were now more professional, which is what I’ve been reading, some have recordings already, or had been signed to contracts prior to coming on AI. Read this on Vote For the Worst. I enjoy AI and actually enjoyed Carly and Michael John but they were older and more experienced. It was surprising they didn’t get the votes. Simon is the star of the show so I try to respect him, but without the prior seasons’ contestants there wouldn’t have been a show, and I do think Season 2 was the best season. I loved the Broadway segment with Andrew Lloyd Webber, which showed some former AI kids. AI and Simon can be proud of the artists they have developed, and that includes Clay Aiken. So since Simon is the elder, he should respect those who helped make this show a success and encourage all of them. This helps keep AI on the tube. It’s a great show. This is a tough industry and everyone needs encouragement not ridicule.

Simon is a total jerk. He shouldn’t laugh at people and then brag about it. Clay is a very talented, handsome man, and he has never said one bad word about Idol. Simon has no right to talk about him like that. I think that’s horrible, childish behavior.

Clay certainly doesn’t get on my nerves. I could listen to thim talk all day. Nervous? I don’t think so. And I love his hair style. Very modern.

CLAY IS ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS! Go watch the Nightline clip…He was on there tonight and looked mighty fine! His beauty comes from within as well as on the outside! Unlike Simon who’s bully-ish behaviour makes him completely ugly !! I remember an entertaiment show interviewing Randy & Simon after Clay had been on Season 3 singing “FANTASY” both R&S made such childish faces toward Clay. There is no reason for that and there is no reason for laughing behind someones back ? For what reason? Do you realize that this MAN you chastize has raised millions of $$$$$$ for the same thing your saying on IDOL GIVES BACK needs to be done! Why not cut him some slack !! It was not all YOU that made AI popular …..Clay in Season two add a HUGE amout to that ! And when Clay appeared on AI5 finale , the buzz on his short 2-3 min. appearance taking command of the stage had people talking about it more than the winner. Ya , sort of threw a monkey wrench in your plans to make fun of him huh?? Mr. Cowell you are a sad little boy indeed ……

All I know is that Clay has had nothing but great things to say about AI for yrs, while Simon & Co. never pass a chance to diss Clay. This is the first album that Clay has released during the Idol season & they will not allow him to sing on the show to promote it. Obviously because they’re afraid that it will show how mediocre their Chosen Winner Archuletta is in comparison. Clay could sing rings around that kid when he was back in high school.

Well gee, all Clay did was tell the truth. The competition is not the same . They have people that are season pros already . This is all that he meant by what he said . Simon has to resort to bully tatics yet again. Small man , small mind !! I hope the ratings go down even more. Don’t forget Simon Clay Aiken has a HUGE fanbase !!

I guess his mother never washed his mouth out with soap - too bad. His p-ss poor attitude about everything (other than his love for himself) makes me really wonder why he has any popularity at all here in the US. Perhaps it is only the misfits who can relate to him. He can take all of his money and put it where the sun doesn’t shine as far as I am concern. Nasty person.
