Miley on Provocative Pics: 'I'm So Embarrassed'

cyrus0429.jpg

In a statement released to People magazine, singer Miley Cyrus apologized for several playfully provocative photos that surfaced last week, as well as photos from a recent Vanity Fair shoot.

"My goal in my music and my acting is always to make people happy," Cryus tells People. "For Vanity Fair, I was so honored and thrilled to work with Annie [Leibovitz]. I took part in a photo shoot that was supposed to be 'artistic' and now, seeing the photographs and reading the story, I feel so embarrassed."

In the Vanity Fair pictures, Cyrus is allegedly wearing clothes, but she is posed in a way that makes her appear topless.

"The pictures of me on the Internet were silly, inappropriate shots," Miley says in the statement. "I appreciate all the support of my fans, and hope they understand that along the way I am going to make mistakes and I am not perfect. I never intended for any of this to happen and I am truly sorry if I have disappointed anyone."

Being in the public eye its extremely difficult for a young woman to feel comfortable in her skin. How dare anyone try to take that from Miley and label her as a tramp. shes wrapped in a sheet and i agree with what she first said, that it is pure and innocent. there are a lot worse role models that people need to worry about.

People are forgetting “who” took these photo’s, they are art! Extra showed the photo shoot, this young girl was wearing jeans and was fully draped showing a bare back. How often do we see on news stands girls, women parading in bikini’s that leave little to the imagination and are not photographed by a renowned artist.

This is all about many money. Doen’t anyone remember the younger Brit. Starting out innocent and then that slutty look. Her agent is preparing her for the next step. Money, money, money, what ever brings it in. Just watch.

This child is fully fully covered up in these photos, not to mention EVERY kid out there has been far more exposed in any normal bathing suit since 1935. Now was it a good idea for a young woman/child who has made her name/brand hand in hand with Disney on a wholesome premise to be photographed in that style? Seemingly counterintuitive to the well being of her money tree. Better yet than asking if these photos are in some way DIRTY (get real) why not ask where was her agent, stylist, publicity agent and oh yeah her parents while this colosal blunder, soon to be media frenzy was taking place? This isnt sexual, sleezy, trashy or anything along those lines, it’s just bad business.

In the midst of taking children from the Texas compound and finding 13-17 year olds pregnant which would give the state reason to remove them from their homes, up pops 15 year old Milie Cyrus topless. What on earth is wrong with her parents, with Vanity Fair, with Disney to whom she is under contract??That photographer should know better too. Are they putting her up for Pedophile Miss of the Year?? Maybe they should think about her being a role model for the fans instead of just counting up dollar signs. Keep it up and soon Milie will be an emotional mess like Brittany.

Hey everyone, doesn’t this remind anyone of a younger Brit. It is all about the money. Brit played that innocent looking part until that got old and now look. She and her parents are all about what will bring the money in. I am sure, that her agent and family are all preparing her for the next step. After all, she will be turning 16 soon. Just watch….

What in the world is all the fuss about? It’s a beautiful picture. Annie Leibovitz is the most respected photographer of our time. This photo will go own is history as one of her best. This uproar is disgraceful. It will not hurt Miley and it does not make her a bad girl. She doesn’t drink or do drugs, she’s just turning into a young lady for heaven sakes. Hello….does anyone out there know anything about art? I’m going to have lunch at the museum and I hope when I get back this issue is over.

Give me a break folks…I have seen way more skin showing on any beach I have ever been on. Go to any jr. high school and you see more than that walking down the corridors. For the record I do not have any problem with my 14 year old daughter looking up to Miley one bit! Seems like you are putting her in the same light as some of the tramps we have seen before her. Those of you who take issue are taking this all out of context, Disney included! I can only imagine the pressure someone like Miley us under to please everyone.

shame on you you make a big deal about a girl who in two years can buy your net work. im so sick of tv dictating what life and our youth should be all shes ever known is her dad. shes had no traditional child hood witch was sacrificed to entertain all of your children and the second some one pursuades a 15 year old girl to do somthing questionable you put her on front street and hurt her some dayh it will come back to you.sorry she loves her dad obviously somthing you never felt poor souls, how many girls did you frolic with mark, did you forget hipocrit

I do not think there is anything wrong with these photos. I do think that Annie L. and Vanity Fair should have been more sensitive to a 15 year olds feelings than to put this one on the cover. I love the picture with her dad, she looks like a young woman on the verge of leaving behind her childhood. It shows her feeling safe and protected by her dad.

How can anyone cpomplain about this when we have 16 year old Jamie Lynn Spears pregnant! THAT is the bad role model!

PEOPLE she is 15 years old!!! The pictures are inappropriate. She is just another girl that is trying to act too grown-up for her age! Unfortunately, for her and her parents she is a famous actress that will be criticized by the media and public.

C’mon people…there is nothing wrong with the pictures of Miley Cyrus. She’s not nude or pregnant so give her a break!! Like someone else wrote - she is showing her back - the picture is not a provacative shot! Miley has NO reason to be embarrased…everyone making a big deal of it - should be!!

i believe that miley is only fifteen! some role model! she has had way too many chances. topless, i mean come on! it’s one thing to go topless, but to be famous and have little kids loving you, is another. i liked her at first but then she starting getting full of it and i found it absolutely brittney spears behavior!

We watch what is going on in Texas with parents telling their children to marry old men. These children are under the age of consent. I think the father is a disgrace to have such a provocative picture made of himself and his daughter. Shame on you Billy. Evil presist when good men do nothing. An evil it is when you sell a little girl in such a sexual way. God what has happened to us all when we say this is OK?

I think that you guys are blowing this WAY out of perportion! If you keep this up she may turn into another Brittany Spears! Just leave it be! this is no big deal… it is natural and artistic, she is still a good kid so leave her alone.

I’m sorry, but my father was a professional photographer for 30 plus years and I still do a little freelance work as well, and as a male photog. if I had taken that shot I would probably be sitting in jail right now for kiddie porn. She is not a 20 something model and she has no business posing for a magazine in this manner. Shame on Annie
Leibovitz for taking advantage of the situation. Don’t think for a minute that Annie didn’t know what she was doing. The bottom line is to sell lots of magazines and this will, unfortunately, do just that.
