Miley on Provocative Pics: 'I'm So Embarrassed'

cyrus0429.jpg

In a statement released to People magazine, singer Miley Cyrus apologized for several playfully provocative photos that surfaced last week, as well as photos from a recent Vanity Fair shoot.

"My goal in my music and my acting is always to make people happy," Cryus tells People. "For Vanity Fair, I was so honored and thrilled to work with Annie [Leibovitz]. I took part in a photo shoot that was supposed to be 'artistic' and now, seeing the photographs and reading the story, I feel so embarrassed."

In the Vanity Fair pictures, Cyrus is allegedly wearing clothes, but she is posed in a way that makes her appear topless.

"The pictures of me on the Internet were silly, inappropriate shots," Miley says in the statement. "I appreciate all the support of my fans, and hope they understand that along the way I am going to make mistakes and I am not perfect. I never intended for any of this to happen and I am truly sorry if I have disappointed anyone."

If the public would not have made a stink, nothing would have occurred. Her parents should (or were)there. Myley herself should have protested. Her parents knew this would be a publicity stunt. This is another case of Hollywood goes wild unless the public gets involved. She is making enough money off young kids (my granddaughter included). Maybe if people just quick buying the records, pictures, and extra then Hollywood might start caring more about morality.

Shame on Vanity Fair for choosing these particular photos to publish and Annie Leibovitz for shooting her provocatively. They went overboard in their choices. I’m sure there were plenty of other photos to choose from that showed her in a more innocent way. No need to hate Miley…I’m sure it wasn’t her decision to pose in this manner.

Miley Cyrus is the perfect role model. Im sorry but Jamie Lynn is pregnant and Britney Spears is a mess and you people are worried about a photo shoot about Miley Cyrus who is a respectable teenager. People, get over yourselves. You know you would do the same thing, its money. That picture with her father is not provocative, its sweet. Stop with the dirty minds.

I think that the pictures are beautiful. If you look at the footage from Access Hollywood of the actual photo shoot. You can clearly see that she is not naked. Topless, yes, but with a drape covering her chest. I don’t think she was trying to look sexual in any way. I feel that the press is making more out this than they should.

I think that you guys are blowing this WAY out of perportion! If you keep this up she may turn into another Brittany Spears! Just leave it be! this is no big deal… it is natural and artistic, she is still a good kid so leave her alone.

I think the picture was not necessary for that kind of pose. Considering all the pictures of her hitting the web now a days she needs to be trying to keep a clean image. I’m starting to think that alot of this is just for her to keep getting more attention and publicity. Her family was on the set of the photo shoot and they let the pose be taken anyway. How many times is she going to keep apologizing to her fans for her mistakes?!

I think it is disgusting that a teen star that has made millions off our youth on the Disney channel would pose in this manner. Why would she (or her parents) think that she has no responsibility to the audience that has made her famous. I think the Disney channel should also be held accountable for not holding their youug celebrities to higher standards in the contracts that they sign to represent them.

I am 16 years old and I think this is crazy! My mom texted me that Miley did this and I was floored. i saw the reports, heard it on the radio, it was on world news, for crying out loud! Hannah Montana is my favorite show (or was up until now) and I always took Miley for a good role model. The pictures were supposed to make her look as if she had no clothes on, even if she had pants or whatever on. She had a choice to say yes or no to these pictures. She chose to say yes. That was a really bad decision and alot of peoples opinions are changed or are going to be changed about her.

The mag. she was posing for is not a teen/child mag. It is a magazine that adults read and there for the picture was ment for mature eyes only. Even though her age is 15 if you see her as a young adult you can see she is pretty mature for her age. The way she became her own person and not taking her fathers last name has to say a lot for her mind, what 15 year old girl would ever do that?
What I am trying to say is that she has every right to do whatever she wants with her life, and for the mother comment I think the public already has too much information on stars then they need don’t try and butt in so much. If you enjoy her voice, songs, and shows keep watching but if you are going to judge on a person’s choice, rewind your life and all the mistakes you think you have made and thank god the entire world isn’t looking at you and sayig “how could you”

I think its wrong, A 15 year old girl should NOT be posing nude even if there is a sheet in front of her! I think shes going to be a Brittany Spears and a Lindsay Lohan Mixed together, Pregnant and DUI’s. Oh dont want to forget the rehab! Shes putting out the wrong impression! She should of new not to do that and her DAD shouldnt of let her pose nude, Its his fault to shes only 15 CONTROL YOUR CHILD!

I’m neither a fan nor a non-fan of the Cyrus girl. Dressed half-naked you folks say? Please… I see more skin in Church on a hot Sunday afternoon. All shots looked very artistic & sophisticated. Nothing wrong here at all. The shot of Miley and her father was touching. Here is a father who enjoys spending time with his daughter. One of Miley’s role models is her father, I’m guessing because instead of spending her time watching TV & movies and comparing herself to other people, she would rather spend time with her family.

How could they have thought this picture was in good tasted. They said they talked about the picture and how it was artistic, but how could they have been so blind to have thought this picture would not come out lookin provocative.

I think she is too young to pose nude (even though she has a sheet in front of her). Like other child stars like Brittany, Lindsey, Hilary, she is trying to grow up too fast. You ARE only young once. Don’t push it. Young girls are rushing adulthood too fast anyway so it is disheartening to see one of their idols making it worse. And doesn’t Miley have a mother??? It would have been nice to see a picture of her with both parents (if they are still together?). Were these pictures okay with her mother?

Come on guys, she’s a good kid, stop already, trying to make her into something bad. It’s like the media can’t stand to have a good wholesome girl in hollywood. GIVE IT UP!!!!!!! I’m ashamed to be watching your show!!!! I won’t be anymore.

I read the comments and the ones I disagreed on came up agree. Was it fixed? I think it was very poor taste. It reminds me of Brittany Spears and Jessica Simpson. They were good wholesome role models and then they threw it all away for the money. They are so shallow.
