Miley on Provocative Pics: 'I'm So Embarrassed'

cyrus0429.jpg

In a statement released to People magazine, singer Miley Cyrus apologized for several playfully provocative photos that surfaced last week, as well as photos from a recent Vanity Fair shoot.

"My goal in my music and my acting is always to make people happy," Cryus tells People. "For Vanity Fair, I was so honored and thrilled to work with Annie [Leibovitz]. I took part in a photo shoot that was supposed to be 'artistic' and now, seeing the photographs and reading the story, I feel so embarrassed."

In the Vanity Fair pictures, Cyrus is allegedly wearing clothes, but she is posed in a way that makes her appear topless.

"The pictures of me on the Internet were silly, inappropriate shots," Miley says in the statement. "I appreciate all the support of my fans, and hope they understand that along the way I am going to make mistakes and I am not perfect. I never intended for any of this to happen and I am truly sorry if I have disappointed anyone."

If she went to the beach, and had on a swimsuit… And some photo person took photos. She would show more skin? Whats really going on here?

I think everyone is making way too big a deal of this. The pictures are lovely. And Miley was going for something Artistic and that is what these pictures are. Yes they’re mildly provacative, but it’s not like she’s all dolled up in some stripper pose. It’s a natural, pretty look, and the media is just overreacting.

I personally think that she was taken advantaged of by the photog and the magazine…using that shot to garner publicity for them.

That said, surely her parents should’ve done better research about the photog to know that sometimes, not everytime but sometimes she takes photos that can be too mature for the child in it.

I applaud Miley for apologizing and I will remain a fan of hers.

The picture was beautify done. It DID show her innocense & the beauty of it. The media is just looking for any reason to smear her identity. The is a well mannered, intelligent & respectful girl. I wish the media would just quit making a molehill out of nothing. I’m 40yo mom & “auntie” to many little girls. It’s the media who is the bad influence!!

LITTLE MISS CYRUS PROBABLY DIDNT REALIZE WHAT THE PHOTOS WERE REALLY GOING TO TURN OUT LIKE. WHY DIDNT THEY LET HER AND HER PARENTS PROOF THEM FIRST. THEN, SHE NOT ONLY WOULDVE GOTTEN PARENTAL GUIDANCE, BUT WOULD HAVE ALSO GOTTEN AN OPPORTUNITY TO SEE WHAT SHE SHOULD NOT AGREE TO. ALSO, SHE IS UNDERAGED, AND ALTHOUGH SHES A CELEBRITY, SHE IS A MINOR, AND THE MAGAZINE IN MY OPINION, DIDNT FOLLOW COMMON SENSES AND GET PARENTAL PERMISSION TO PRINT THESE PHOTOS. OR I HAVE A FEELING DADDY AND MOMMY WOULD NOT HAVE LET THEM GO.
MYLEY, BE CAUTIOUS, MEDIA CAN BE CRUEL FOR AN EASY BUCK, AT ANYONES EXPENSE.

I think that everyone should leave Miley alone. She hasn’t done anything except drape a blanket over her shoulder. My goodness she is even wearing pants. Just let her have fun and be proud of herself, and the love she recieves from her father.

I really think she looks beautiful in her pictures and if she doesn’t like the picture b/c it wasn’t artistic to her she should take some pictures of herself take she would consider artistic!

Miley should not feel embarrassed. She had no clue what the magazine and photogrpaher were going for. Vanity Fair and Annie Leibovitz should be embarrassed for their poor choices. Annie is a fantastic photographer but these photographs are borderline porn.

ugh. miley is starting to get on my nerves. all of this picture taking crap. my goodness! i am 15 and i can tell you that MOST of us girls DO NOT take pics like the ones i have seen of miley. if she didn’t want them to get out then why did she take them in the first place??? and then these new ones for the magazine?? what ever. i personaly don’t think Disney should support her anymore if this is going to keep happening.

Lets remember that she is still just 15 just because she is a “celebrity” doesnt give her the right!!! this did go to far … and if it were someone else kid they would charge Vanity Fair with child pornography COME ON NOW!!!

Hey Miley - we actually saw Annie’s Lebowitz’s show in S.F. She is very talented but I could see where her work was very personal, sometimes crossing the line. You are a lovely girl and you have many years ahead of you to make decisions about how you want to promote yourself. For the time being, slow down and enjoy being a 15 year old girl. My daughter Rachel is 13 and adores you as do my grand children who are 3 and 5. Don’t be too hard on yourself but try not to let people put in uncomfortable positions. The reason we parents are OLD is we have lots of experience. Good luck kiddo!hey its me rachel h and miley if you have time plz eamil me if you want bye loveya lots !!!!!

The picture IS provocative. It’s the type of picture often taken of adult women and meant to tantalize. But Miley is only 15! Her father should be ashamed for allowing this and Annie should be admonished for doing it. They have lost their moral footing. Saying this is artistic is not the answer. There are people who pass off ANYTHING as being art. The question is not, what do I want to do? but rather, how will this be preceived? Anybody in the public eye must always answer this question first. Otherwise they have to take the heat for their mistakes.

I think the photographer needs to take responsibility for taking advantage of a child. She is supposed to be this professional that everyone respects. She knew what she was doing and what it would do to Miley. Her parents can be thanked also. Who thinks it’s ok for their daughter to pose that way? The parent making a dollar or a million from it. Shame on them. As for Miley, I remember 15, you are in a daze because your a child who should be able to rely on sound parental decisions.

Some of the media seem to be kissing the rear of the Islamo-Fascist wanna be “Christian” Fascists. 5) Christian fascists, like their Jewish counterparts in the 1st century, love the Victorian double standard hypocrisy where your “proper Christian” moral facade is displayed publically while you pursue your real interests privately. Yahshua ha Mashiach, Jesus the Christ, was not fooled, and He does not want us to be fooled either…. The amazing thing about these self-righteous hypocrites is that they see evil doers everywhere……. except in the mirror !!!

American’s have hit an ultimate high in perversion. There is nothing wrong with the photo of her being COVERED in a sheet. If that’s perverted than the painting of Venus is perverted as well. I can’t comprehend how a portrait so innocent is being interpreted into something so perverted.

As for the daughter/father photo. It’s a nice photo, I don’t necessarily like the pose; it seems more boyfriend/girlfriend. In any case they were looking for editorial and that’s what the photo is.

Hannah Montana is a CHARACTER. I don’t understand why so many parents are becoming outraged over the actual person. She hasn’t done anything wrong. And I don’t want to start on why parents are concerned of what their child sees of the actress. What are children doing looking at tabloids and gossip television anyway?

Since when is it okay for a photographer to ask a 15 yo to strip down and wear a sheet for a photograph and then call it beautiful. If you ask me it is child pornography. The photographer should never have wanted to take such a picture. And then, how do the photographs get leaked out to the internet? Photographer? or Magazine?

OK…PEOPLE…This is the 21st Century not the 18th or 19th…time to throw off Puritanism and Victorianism and leave it behind where it belongs. 100 years ago someone Miley’s age would have been married with 1 or 2 children so having a picture taken of her in the process of staging/ending her photo shoot is as natural as going to the outhouse after a big dinner. In the end…some is digested and some is not…AND…it is CRAP having such a controversy over it!!!
