Miley on Provocative Pics: 'I'm So Embarrassed'

cyrus0429.jpg

In a statement released to People magazine, singer Miley Cyrus apologized for several playfully provocative photos that surfaced last week, as well as photos from a recent Vanity Fair shoot.

"My goal in my music and my acting is always to make people happy," Cryus tells People. "For Vanity Fair, I was so honored and thrilled to work with Annie [Leibovitz]. I took part in a photo shoot that was supposed to be 'artistic' and now, seeing the photographs and reading the story, I feel so embarrassed."

In the Vanity Fair pictures, Cyrus is allegedly wearing clothes, but she is posed in a way that makes her appear topless.

"The pictures of me on the Internet were silly, inappropriate shots," Miley says in the statement. "I appreciate all the support of my fans, and hope they understand that along the way I am going to make mistakes and I am not perfect. I never intended for any of this to happen and I am truly sorry if I have disappointed anyone."

Miley, you’re a great young performer and with that comes lots of learning experiences - some good, some not so good. When negative stuff happens, just chalk it up as another learning experience and remember that your fans still love you no matter what.
You have a right to be proud of your accomplishments….so keep a smile on your face and your chin held high! Sweetie, you’re going to be OK!

Hi Miley..

I don’t think you need apologize to anyone. There’s nothing wrong with the pictures you took for Vanity Fair. I think that people are just over reacting and being ignorant about this whole thing, all because you’re under Disney. It’s not like you pose topless or nude picture for Playboy! Then I can understand their point.. Just be yourself Miley, and be real… Your fans will love you for you are!!!

I still think those PHOTOS were WRONG, but I’m really happy people are starting to forget about IT.

What she said is 100% the BEST thing she could of said. I don’t think I could of said it any better myself.

JUST DON’T TAKE PHOTOS LIKE THAT AGAIN, UNTIL AFTER YOUR DONE WITH DISNEY.

After reading many comments calling this art, I agree - it’s art; very seductive art and not at all appropriate, considering the subject is a 15 year old girl, especially when that 15 year old is the star of a show which is watched by millions of very young viewers. Annie and Billy Ray should have used better judgement and they should be held accountable.

Billy Ray - Have you seen the other pictures of your daughter on the web? I’m not sure if she looked stoned or just really tired in the one where she was laying across the young man - either way, it wasn’t flattering. And the one of her in the bathroom definately is not art. What about her performance at the Houston Rodeo (you were there) - she danced and touched provocatively with her male and female dancers and much of the time she acted as if she was bored out of her skull and seemed convinced that she was gracing everyone by her mere presence. My 8-year-old daughter and I were invited guests - I didn’t pay for the tickets (and WOULDN’T have paid for them - I try to have good sense). We left the show early - even the kids realized that the show was not appropriate for them and they were also disappointed in the lack of enthusiasm your daughter was putting out. I’m not checking out on your daughter just yet, Billy Ray, but if she continues with these shenanigans, HM will not be allowed on our TV (just as Zoey 101 - do you see the parallel I’m drawing here? Hope so.). I’m going to try not to be too rough on Miley (because you should be the one accountable, here), but she can mostly thank nepotism for her success (even if that wasn’t your intent, I’m sure the value of your name wasn’t lost on the Disney execs). If she continues with the current antics, we can look forward to Miley becoming the next Paris Hilton.

I know this is harsh, but hopefully this will take Miley, her parents, Vanessa, Jamie Lynn, Disney execs and the whole entertainment industry by the shoulders and give them all a good shake. Put whatever you want out there for consenting adults, but don’t lure our kids in with a bait and switch. Disney execs: Why not put a moral clause in these contracts and hit these kids where it hurts (in the pocketbook) if they don’t comply? When you can’t trust a Disney star to, at the very least, NOT be a bad role model, who can you trust?

And come on parents - it’s time to turn off the tube and stop shelling out the bucks for mindless crap! Let’s expect some integrity for our kids sake. It starts with us - be accountable.

EVERYONE who was involved in these photos should be a shame of their selves. The percentages on who’s fault it was, is about 25% Miley, 35% HER PARENTS and Grandmother (IF SHE WAS REALLY THERE) and 40% of EVERYONE at Vanity Fair (Not just the PHOTOGRAPHER).

I can understand how the one of just her could be considered ARTSY, BUT SHE IS ONLY 15 YEARS OLD, NOT EVEN OLD ENOUGH TO GET A DRIVERS LICENSE. As for as the one with her FATHER goes, it’s just plain CREEPY.

As for as all the photos on the web, these were suppose to be PRIVATE and leaked out. I also don’t believe they are all REAL.

ALSO for those people who think this won’t hurt her career, there WRONG. The reason she is famous and has over 3 million is mostly because of HANNAH MONTANA. Selling all those CLOTHS, DOLLS, DVDs, CDs, Concerts ETC. If it wasn’t for DISNEY, she probably would have money, but not nearly as SOON.

People also say she would of never gotten the job of being HM if it wasn’t for her FATHER (Billy Ray Cyrus). I would say that is LESS THEN 25% true. The rest is pure talent and a GREAT STAGE PRESENTS.

I THINK MILEY HAS A TREMENDOUS AMOUNT OF TALENT, BEING ABLE TO SING AND ACT. I LIKE HER A LOT MORE THEN HILARY DUFF.

MILEY MIGHT NOT BE THE GREATEST SINGER AND ACTRESS, BUT WHAT SHE DOES HAVE, IS A LOT OF GUTS TO DO ALL THOSE CONCERTS IN MOST OF THE United States. SHE ALSO SEEMS TO BE A VERY NICE PERSON, WHO IS AS DOWN TO EARTH AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE WHEN YOU ARE A MILLIONAIRE.

I ALSO THINK THAT TMZ IS THE WORST SHOW. ALL THEY CARE FOR IS GETTING THE ‘DIRT’ ON MILEY AND ALL THE OTHER HOLLYWOOD STARS.

I HOPE THIS IS THE WORST THING SHE DOES UNTIL AFTER SHE LEAVES DISNEY.

—NOTE: FOR ALL THE PARENTS, FANS AND PRESS OUT THERE—
I CAN’T BLAME YOU FOR NOT LIKING HER AND HER FAMILY. BUT SHE IS ONLY 15 YEARS OLD, AND HER FAMILY WOULD NEVER SHOW THESE PHOTOS ON PURPOSE IF THEY THOUGHT they were ‘SKANKY’. SHE HAS A LOT OF PRESSURE ON HERSELF.
PLEASE, JUST GIVE HER AND HER FAMILY A SECOND CHANCE.

I don’t see anything wrong with the pictures myself.People need to get lives and stop worrying what mileys parents are doing at their house and keep their kids in line because just like a child she made a mistake and parents aren’t perfect either so they both are entitled to mistakes. So people quit judging them because it will come back to you ten fold and uh the photographer has most of the control of the photo shoot

It was Annie’s fault, she talked Miley into it.Anyway,it is just her back! It’s like wearing a bikini.Miley got under pressure, she is just 15 and all you other people who say it is inapproiate I don’t know what is wrong with you.She was wearing clothes underneth, she has a brain you know,so lets help Miley Cyrus!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
